any good snes emulators for ds?
AK2i is udder win. I have a DS Lite and a ez flash 3-in-1 for my ds lite, but I know the DSi days will be upon me eventually. I tested mine out on my friends DSi the day it came out just to make sure it was gonna work. He then proceeded to run his battery dead playing my games ^_^.
catchafire: SnemulDS is the best working one I have found. Some games don’t work on it and some games like super punch out the life guages mess up once someone gets knocked down. But for the most part it runs well.
Figured I would list all the emulators I’m rocking as well.
NES - NESDS
GEN - Jenesis
SNES - SneMulDS
GB/GBC - LameBoy
Mame - MarcaDS
Neo Geo - NeoDS
SneMulDS is the only one that really gives me any trouble. MarcaDS plays Donkey Kong, which is the only reason I have Mame, thanks King of Kong. But it doesn’t play the sound for Donkey Kong and because Donkey Kong has a long screen it uses both the screens.
Thanks for the info Zeth. Just curious, does your handle come from a novel, and if so what’s it called?
Some things can be played on the SNES emu for DS, and some things can’t be. The compatibility is not super great.
I could play Gundam Wing Endless Duel but I couldn’t play Front Mission Gun Hazard
Yeah, the SNES emulator needs more work. There are a lot of games that don’t work well with it, if at all.
We need a version of ZSNES for the DS.
That’s infuriating. I’ll be honest, I never played Chrono Trigger and DO plan on buying this, but that’s ridiculous reasoning. Chances are the people that want the sequel already HAVE the bloody game on SNES and PSX, giving them less of an incentive to buy the DS port.
Maybe they’ll re-release it again to make more money to go towards the sequel they’ll never make.
Senior Vice President Shinji Hashimoto: BUY IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!! HAHAHA!!!
This is what I imagined when he said “If people want a sequel, they should buy more!”
Square Enix has every right to shut down a fan made sequel. If I ever realize my long-term goal of becoming a game designer who owns my owning game studio, I’m planning on shutting down similar efforts. The property is Square Enix’s and until it becomes public domain, nobody has any right to produce material featuring its characters, locales, distinctive likenesses, etc. In fact, if the film script I’m working on becomes popular, I’m planning on sending requests to places like fanfiction.net demanding they don’t host fanfiction for it (though that’s partly because fanfiction.net needs to fade into obscurity, but that’s a rant for another topic).
That said, Square Enix is greedy beyond belief: $40 for a remake of an SNES game with the only extras being an admittedly good usage of the dual screens and horrible extra story content that undoubtedly ties CT to that piece of shit sequel called Chrono Cross. $32 total for all the episodes that make up the FF4 sequel on WiiWare, which is a slightly cleaned up port of a Japanese cell phone game. $10 for Crystal Defenders, a game that isn’t even worth $2. And they’ll keep getting away with it, because their fanboys will keep buying that overpriced trash.
Dr. B doesn’t charge you a fee for visiting his awesome websites. That’s why he’s so awesome. That and his humongous, well-formed penis.
Upon hearing that I’m like picturing Squeenix as some whiny stuck up brat who is always used to getting it’s way. And when it doesn’t get what it wants it throws a fit and tries to tantalize you into giving you what it wants just so it can be ‘good kid’. You hear that Square? Listen closely now…It’s the sounds of several million gamers saying ‘FUCK YOU!’
Finally got Knights in the Nightmare today.
This game is definitely unique. You can’t go into this game expecting something like FFT, Disgaea, etc. There’s a lot to take in, so the tutorial is definitely required reading, and even then, you won’t get it all until you start playing the game. The art style is really cool. KitN comes with a soundtrack CD…looks like the full one, judging from the number of tracks.
also got my Knight in the Nightmare copy today as well.
since I like the games Sting makes and am still playing Yggdra Union. though i’m sure it will probably be like Yggdra Union where it will get hard at times and just to complete everything will take multiple run throughs.
God fighting Cathulu. On a skateboard. With a shotgun. For no reason.
Day 1 buy.

:tup::tup::tup:
Beastly.
Black Sigil is out people… Everywhere if you know where to look, including amazon.
I was just coming in here to see if anyone picked it up. I may not get it right away since I’m busy with Knights in the Nightmare (fun game, by the way).
Are you going to take down your av featuring copyrighted images now?
Also you should really read up on the popular culture literature (like Henry Jenkin’s Textual Poachers). Nothing alienates your fans like preventing them from engaging with your work.
Best DS Homebrew Apps and Games?
OK, so I’m really getting into the Homebrew scene for the DS (cough-R4i-SDHC-cough), and I was wondering what are the best apps and homebrew games on it right now?
I’ve got so far:
Apps:
COLORS (painting program)
Phidias (painting program)
DS Twitter (so cool)
DSOrganizer (PDA)
Pocket Physics (fun lil’ ‘Crayon Physics’ clone)
World of Sand (fun lil’ Sand toy-thinga-ma-jig)
lmg-ng (IPOD clone with tons of cool skins…I have mine like an I-Phone right now, lol)
Games:
Video Games Hero (Guitar Hero clone)
PACMAN Dual-Screen (two pacman games going at once?! so cool!)
Mario Paint Composer (Mario Paint from the SNES on the DS?! OMG!)
Any others?
P.S.
I tried 1) Warcraft Tower Defense, 2) Final Fantasy Battles, 3) Super Smash Bros. Rumble, and 4) Starlite, but they crashed on my R4. :bluu:
LOL Squaw Eanix must think they are Capcom now or something.
“Risten guys, we ah gon to rerease same game 20 time…”
If they combine ALL the sales of ALL the versions of CT it’s worth a sequel. Like how Capcom released about 20 wrong versions of ST. It’s such a fucking money grab on their part, Square totally fucked up making every new FF game a 30 hour AMV cutscene.
Thing is I don’t think Capcom needed to have good sales for SF2 releases for SF4 to be made.
IIRC, it was only after seeing how good one of the SF2 releases to the X-Box was received that Ono asked Capcom to make SF4 and they gave him the OK.
Also Ono did ask prior to 2008/2007 a few times for a sequel but Capcom said no.
I was just about to askif anyoneis playing it; I think a lot of people became fed up with the constant push-backs.
I’m trying to find a local copy, so I don’t have to pay shipping and currency conversions.
wow, Black Sigil’s graphics look soooo much like Final Fantasy VI! :wow:
…even the font looks 16-bit SNES-ish, lol.
