Got the new Nintendo Power, had some reviews and previews…
Black Sigil got a 5.0/10. Complaints were that the story dragged at the beginning, too many random encounters, and the battle system is slow. Praises were nice 16 bit graphics and beautiful soundtrack.

They previewed Nostalgio, which looks pretty nice. This is the original RPG developed by Matrix, the team who made the FF DS remakes.

They also reviewed the Konami Magic School game that looks like Animal Crossing (I forgot the name) and gave it 7.5/10. Said that you would like it if you’re into sim games like Animal Crossing.

Too many random encounters and slow story? I hope this slow story turns out good though, I may not worry about encounter rate if it is. After all, if I hated having a high encounter rate, I would have never found Skies of Arcadia.

I will probably still play if gameplay vids start poppin out so I can make my own judgment about it.

playing hatsworth on gentleman’s mode, and the only reason its harder is cuz the stupid puzzle meter drains rediculously fast, which totaly fucks things like getting a simple 3chain to make platform blocks appear :#

also playing ‘the world ends with you’ pretty fun I like the gameplay, not so much pressing a thru all the walls of text.

Enemies deal double damage in Gentlemen difficulty too. But I agree, the puzzle drains way too fast and that is the only reason Gentlemen seems so insanely hard. I’m up to World 3-5 on that difficulty. Dreading World 3 boss.

OMG thats exactly where I’m at, yea that part at the end of the stage with the crumbling blocks and that wall thing shooting homing missles at you. and not looking forward to the fat nurse battle agin.

i picked up a DSi… and im on the last boss of the castlevania DS. and warioware snapped was a huge rip, apparently my skin tone is too light for the game to recognize me

Yeah, I got it. It is completely different for a Super Robot Wars game, but it is cool. Combat system is interesting, and there are plenty of great attacks. It was made by the same people who did Xenosaga. The fight visuals are cool, but the world map looks like a NES game. Overall, I like it.

im playing Valkyrie profile. im digging it so far, but i think the main character is a bitch. like his motivation for doing this whole quest is shallow

I’ve been playing a little hyped game called Anno 1701: Dawn of Discovery. It came out last year and it has a new DS version (and a Wii version) coming out in a few months. Its a real time strategy game that plays like Age of Empires lite with little emphasis on combat. Pretty fun game, and cheap, google it to see if it appeals to you.

I’m pretty addicted to The Dark Spire. I usually hate games like this but this one got under my skin.

  • My backlogs started when I bought Rondo of Swords. *Disgaea DS *is one now, too. I might just sell both or attempt to beat at least one of them. I can’t decide on which one is more worthier. Then again, I’ll probably beat Disgaea. In a way, I’ve already beaten it, but it didn’t seem fufilling. I’ll probably beat one of the two after Teirkreis. Forget the 108 stars if I can’t go back go back to get the guys I missed and I wouldn’t play it again: Hero keeps ramming his can-do attitude up my ass. “Don’t know til I try.”.

  • All my puzzle games are now under Repeat/Boredom Play, including Exit DS.

  • Dark Spire might be my next game. The concept intrigues me. 8bit/32bit. Decisions, decisions.

I’m up to the 3rd stratum in Etrian Odyssey II and SF4, I haven’t had time for Valkyria Chronicles. :frowning: I think I’m gonna try and finish EO2, then take a break from SF4 and play through VC.

Also, rhythm heaven is pretty fun. I’m up to the 8th level in that.
