The Nintendo DS thread v.2

I personally liked Boss #4.

But did you beat the Dimensional Vortex at the end?! nooooooooooooooo you didnnnnnnnn’tt.

  • For a good challenge, get either Etrian Oddessy II or that other one. You’ll have fun with that.

  • Too bad Square Enix didn’t bring over Grandia to DS. I can play those forever. The fights in that game never get boring, regardless of who you’re fighting. I could be ambushed by a Gargoyles set 50 times in a row in that game and I’d just NOT be bored of the outcome.

i dont want to say any spoilers, so ill just say he has like 4 different moves that can kill you in one hit

I think it would be worth it once there are DSi exclusive games that you want. I am going to wait until at least ten games that I like before I buy one

In the words of my Japanese penpal hottie, trying to quote Matthew Mcconaughey and Kate Hudson in *How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days:
*

I even corrected her several times. Poor Kokoro-kun.

Anyway, FFCC: EOT can’t be *THAT *good. It’s still a 4 race battle. Then again, being online can’t be that bad.

The game isn’t perfect. It’s a dungeon crawler with tons of customization and replayability. It’s not stupidly long (first play through takes about 20 hours, 2nd play through can take as little as 5~7 or so hours). It has it’s flaws, like the really bad dungeon design which centers around very long and tedious puzzles. Story takes a real backseat in this which I love. Cutscenes are easily skipable so if you don’t give a shit about all the nonsense that the story will certainly be, you can just skip and read your journal to find out where to go next.

I don’t like the magic “stacking” system either. You have to manually aim and stack spells on top of each other if you want to cast a stronger spell. Like holy is cure + raise while firaga is fire + fire + fire and so on and so forth. Despite all this I had a lot more fun with this than any other game on the DS. Then again, I don’t really like the DS all that much. This is one of the handful of games on the DS that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed, heh.

Learn what ‘dungeon crawler’ means before you throw it out there like most of the other non sense you spit.

hahahahaha chop you fucking own

dungeon crawler =/= rogue like

By the way, JackTenrac!, if you couldn’t tell by my post, I am a big dungeon crawler fan. They’re my favorite and often the only kind of RPGs I play so yeah I’m a bit biased

It’s still a fun game, co-op is awesome.

I was wondering guys, I have about 400 dollars right now…should I buy a DS Lite? I’m not very interested in the DSi and don’t consider it a good investment, but the DS has a bunch of RPG and strategy games I’d like to play…but I still think 120 is pretty steep. Will the price go down after the release of the DSi?

anyone know of a program to convert mp3, to AAC files for the DSi. i have one and i converted a music file, but the DSi isn’t reading it?

edit: nvm, i got it, ituens can cover them as well, and those files seem to work.

Suikoden tierkreis came out recently and I thought it was really good, but im also a huge fan of all of the suikoden games. I think it is still worth a try though if you’ve never played any of the other ones.

@genshiro- Personally, if you can find a shop that has lots of NDS games I say go for the NDS Lite.

I just started Etrian Odyssey II and it seems HARD so far. My chars are only lvl 4, but it seems like it takes forever to level up.

lol Think I did. lol

I bet it is since FFCC:EOT’s an online title. I’ll play some Suikoden instead …for now. Never played the PS versions, but it looks fun. Did they strip away the battle-modes in this one? Like the duels and such?

  • I’ve been ignoring Disgaea. Not sure why. Probably it’s the theme.

I found both Lions of Fo in GTA:CW but since I used patch my GTA to work I can’t connect online. =[

Suikoden is interesting…

Interesting in a good way or a bad way? That was going to be my next purchase once I finished up Hatsworth and GTA…

posting this from the dsi web browerser. im really glad i got the system i listened to music on it all day at work, and i really like the matt finish the dsi has. i hope some good dsi ware games come out soon, nothing has caught my interest as of yet. ohh and messing with pictures is a whole lot of fun
