^ Finished it. God, that was brutal. Even on easy. Those futuristic soldiers were funny. They crap red drop bombs. I have the Combat School missions to beat now. I’ll probably move onto Rondo of Swords and put this on “Once In a Blue Moon”. The goal for New Years is to get in shape, so I’ll be getting back into My Weight Coach routines with the pedometer. 10,000 steps a day isn’t a hard thing to achieve.
I should clarify that it being relatively easy means beating Arcade Mode on Normal difficulty AND completing Challenge Mode 40/40 took me about 25 total hours of play and practice.
Contra 3 took me at least twice that amount of time just beat on Normal Difficulty, despite being much shorter, so comparing the two, I think the new one is definitely much easier.
Also, this might sound strange, but while it’s not technically a shmup, Metroid Pinball DS’s boss encounters evoked the feeling of one more than once.

I’m hoping someone can help me with this:
Bought an R4 SDHC with a 2GB Kingston MicroSD, and a DS Lite (black). For some reason, my DS keeps getting bricked. This is the 2nd DS bricked. The only indication I get from the DS is when I plug in the charger and I’ll get the charging light for about 1 second, then it goes off. I’ve confirmed that the R4 is not a bootleg, and I know all about the former R4 team releasing firmwares that’ll purposely brick DS with counterfeit R4s in them. I’ve already contacted the vendor (thedsdeals.com) for a replacement, but in the meantime, does anyone have an idea? I think I put the wrong firmware on it, which was the R4 SDHC Deluxe firmware. I bought these in a batch of 3, and the other 2 are working fine, btw.
Looks like I’m going to have to buy a DS again for Pkmn Platinum and Blue Dragon+.
I’d rather just wait till the DSi comes out though. :

Meh, it won’t be anything special. There’s not much you can do to improve upon the DS beyond changing the design completely.
But I am a consumer whore and it has a bunch of shit added to it that I don’t need. So obviously, I want to buy it.
A bunch of shit? Like what? A camera? nothing else of note…

Well… I wouldn’t go that far. Shorter battery life, two cameras, a SD Card slot, a missing GBA slot, a new wi-fi service that will never come here, a high price that surpasses the PSP 3000 models, which is a superior system to it specification wise… yeah. I can’t see why it’s a bad thing to do. Yes.
