The Nintendo DS thread v.2

And people are going to buy it anyways. And in greater number than you think.

So stop being such a whiny bitch over it.

Seriously, what is it adding besides the two cameras? I’d upgrade my DSLite if the cameras did something useful but I think it will just be a few games that support it, if any, and the features probably won’t warrant the price.

It’s more than just the cameras. The DSi has been said to run faster than the DS Lite. I don’t know if it has a faster processor or more onboard RAM, but it’s supposed to run DS games a lot better. Just imagine Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers with no slow down. That’d be nice.

Only reason I am not moving forward with the DSi is because the R4 doesn’t work. BUT, I heard the DSi has already been hacked…sooo…

I just picked up the new game from the Dementium: The Ward guys, Moon. The story has a low budget but fun feel and it’s better than Dementium gameplay wise already.

a friend here has one and she likes it, and yes she mentioned there is already a card that was made for the DSi…

Isn’t DSi also going to have a downloadable game network (like PSN, XBLA, WiiWare)? I thought I had heard that somewhere.

Yeah it is. Unfortunately, there has been no word of any of the software on that network being worth the price of losing the ability to play GBA games. Maybe down the line Nintendo will do something but right now, DSi can wait unless you want to take pictures and edit them that badly on a portable system.

DSi also sports a SD mem card slot and new user interface.

anything good comin out soon

ooo

Ys Books 1 and 2

oh and Big PERM that is a very weird problem you are having. Hopefully you got yours at a discount retailer, they take back anything hehehe

Dragon Quest 5 coming out in US and UK in a few weeks :woot:

I wouldn’t buy it.

DQIV was the last game I bought for my DS before I sold it and I hated it. So I doubt V would leave a better impression on me. I like the dragon warrior series a lot. I loved the first 3, I loved all the GBC remakes and DQ Monsters except Joker. That game was a pretty much a joke. I loved VII and I loved VIII.

DQ Swords was…
ANY WAYS

The last game I was really impressed with for the DS was The World Ends With You.

I just KNOW Platinum will make me get a DS again though. I just don’t want to spend 130 again for 2 games. Cause the only games I am remotely interested in that’re coming out are PKMN:P and Blue Dragon+

Wha, what’re you talking about, DQ4 was a good, standard DQ game, what was wrong with it?
Also, DQ5 has a lot of good stuff in it, I mean YOU CAN ADD SLIMES TO YOUR PARTY! plus it has perhaps the best stories of all the DQ games.

I just didn’t like how DQIV flowed.

I’m not saying it was bad. It just didn’t impress me.

I really can’t wait for DQ V (and VI, they’re the only ones I’ve never played). I can understand how some people wouldn’t like DQ IV, its a little too old school for some tastes. I liked it though, the nostalgia factor may have had something to do with it…

I’m still trying to get through TWEWY. A lot of people love the game, but I just kinda like it so far. I’m far enough though that I’ll try to finish it off… its pretty good though, but I feel like its overhyped.

Well if you could give it a 2nd chance, to at least play enough of Chapter 5 at the begging it might spark some interest :wonder:

Tokyo Beatdown.
I might get this…

Phantasy Star Zero is coming to North America.

Wow… that’s embarrassing. The sales of PS0 were positive. This is great news. Minus the fact that we have to wait nearly a year to see it.

I can understand why FF fanboys dont like some DQ games, but if your like me and play any and all RPGs, DQ4 was a great game. I dont know why people wouldnt like the game.

Pacing maybe? When playing the game some may come to the assumption that you’ll need to spend hours leveling up in order to beat some bosses or enemies in certain areas. The fact of the matter is that you don’t have to level up, but only do so when you find yourself unable to defeat the enemies.
I used to think I needed to be Lvl. 40 for all my characters to defeat the Dark Ruins boss in DQ8, but with proper playing, Points assigning and equipment choosing I managed to beat him at a somewhat lower level.

Still, DQ games sometime rely on luck I feel.

I’m no where near a FF fan.

I just didn’t like a certain DQ game. I highly doubt that’s some gamer sin or some shit.

Different strokes for different folks. Jeez.
