The Nintendo DS thread v.2

Does anyone have a tier-list for the Union Glyphs? Or is it just Light Sword > *? I’m up to Drac’s castle on normal mode and up to this point I really just use the Union Glyph for whatever Glyphs that I have equipped at the time (which is usually the MSHvSF Sak fireball).

Any hasta with Luminato is excellent damage. Luminato with Acerbatus is a neat union.

Good unions depend upon what damage type you want to output really. In general though, the best unions seem to be a weapon glyph + the element damage you want to do. The one exception to that would be weapon + lightning, which is utter shit. Double of the same glyph type sucks because it both seems to do less damage and cost more hearts than the weapon + element unions (20 hearts as opposed to 15). Also, the Holy + Shadow union is really good as it deals very high damage to everything on the screen, and is switch type in that it will deal Holy to things that are vulnerable to Holy but Shadow to things which are vulnerable to Shadow. The one drawback there being that the Holy + Shadow union costs a staggering 50 hearts.

I don’t remember if this was already announced, but here are the latest S-E dates:

Feb 17, 2009 - Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride
Mar 17, 2009 - Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume

Was just about to post about DQ5; GET MAJOR HYPE, BEE-OTCHES!

i spent like 70% of the game using 2x vol luminatio, 2x vol umbra, and 2x vol ascia. barely used the glyph unions though.

It’s a cool little app if you’re into Korg shit or just keyboards in general.

It’s everything a Korg DS-10 would be without the keys (and of course the midi ports). It also has a pattern programming interface (think fruityloops), but the drum samples are kind of limited…as they aren’t really sampled, they were synthesized using the keyboard hardware, which makes them sound kind of tinny.

Using headphone jack to instrument cable adapter, you could technically rock a show with it. And there are some cool little such screen modifiers that are really neat, that i would find useful.

Bottom line, it’s a cool toy that any musician would enjoy and it could produce some interesting results in a live show…but it’s not your group’s next big instrument.

I’ve been playing with that Korg DS-10 every day on the train…very cool with the touch screen.

I’m looking for a way to backup DS save files to a computer.

NOTE: I’m NOT looking to play ROMs or do any sort of pirating; I just want a way to get save files from retail Pokemon DS titles to my machine to edit with a Pokemon save file editor.

Any advice/directions?

“Playing” WWE Smackdown 2009. Graphics look better than 2008 did on PSP.

Get an backup system of your choice, the rom, and another DS. Mod your pogeymanz as necessary and trade them to your cartridge. It’s not illegal to own the rom if you own the original game. Have fun. Cheater.

i did the shop trick and bought my own gold ring. D:

I have a buttload of cash now. <3 all those anonymous people who put up uber rare and quests for sale in thier shop. I got 8 quests done within 5 mins.

I’m @ dracula’s crib, wish me luck.

So can you have any button control in this game or do i have to use the stylus?

playing final fantasy 4, stopped playing for over a day now cos i got beat by the dark elf

I hear a lot of people are getting whooped by the Dark Elf. I haven’t picked this up for the DS quite yet, but I’m getting the idea that they bumped up the difficulty since the SNES age? Can anyone confirm? If so, I’m even more excited for the challenge. Thanks.

yeah he is a wake up call but i never… (shit i forgot the term ) i never hang around anywhere to level up and get strong, i just go through the dungeons and complete the maps then beat the boss. i prefer to use my brain against the bosses

I got raped by the Dark Elf a few times so I went back out and leveled up…15 levels. It made the rest of the game a breeze.

Must have taken you a long ass time to level up too. Ah, I seriously can’t see myself leveling up like this again… Just so repetitive. I wish SE would make a Diablo/isometric type game…

I went through FF4 DS with no problems. I think the PS1 versions are the hardest, they have the japanese level difficulty, and no draw attacks+counter augment to auto-win most of the game.

What backup system would you recommend, and where could I order said backup system? I’ve been looking at the M3 Lite but I’m not sure it can do what I want it to (i.e., mod Pokemon saves).
