Upgraded two of my games today. I picked up Advance Wars:Days of Ruin and Etrian Odyssey II. I started playing AW first and so far I’m loving it more than Dual Strike. Haven’t tried out the Wi-fi yet. I’ll have to get some friends codes. Does anyone on here play?
I’ll play some of EO2 tonight. I loved the first one, and this is a vast improvement on the formula of part 1, so I cant wait to dive into this one.
Fadedsun… there’s a thread for it. I’ll get it soon.
Why would you? they are amazing. Visual treats. It’s cool how the other characters stop during attacks. As for the character graphics, you could give S-E some crap on that. However, you’d have to remember that Squaresoft was never the best deliverer of graphics in their games. Vagrant Story could get itself shot by Legend of Dragoon, in terms of visuals, but the gameplay, and story alone, would be the saving grace that VS needs.
Couldn’t miss that bullet. Poor fellow. Funny how the judge didn’t show face there.
Dispatches are better now. I usually go with the lot instead because it’s so much fun.
Smash Gauge… I’m guessing that this is what has replaced the Judge Point system. I have yet to see this in action outside of the trailers. No mention of combos anymore, so I’m guessing that these are out.
The new Samurai-esque class, for the Humes, shows up at the Pub. His name is weird, but his attacks sound deadly. Can’t wait to get him. Still, I’m a bit baffled by the way Square blanks out the classes that you haven’t seen yet.
Also…the big boss battles. Squaresoft knew that the fans would appreciate this important feature. Look at these monsters! Huge… especially the Ant Lion mom. Biyatch ripped my men with her stupid sand attack. Youz gun pay, biyatch.
What’s the smash guage? The only shit I’ve seen out of the blue is the random occurrences where someone gets some special skill if they’re alone or if they move next to someone; like haste, attack up, etc.
I haven’t bothered dispatching anyone just yet except for one quest that requires you to do so.
I fucked up early on by not switching my jobs and ability items, especially during those delivery/trade quests where you get free 30AP without fighting.
Question about leveling up, I know it’s to prevent abuse from gaining like 5 levels by hitting your own characters during a fight, but I guess it’s like recent SE games… say you’re at 95 xp, hit someone to gain that level, then you’re “capped out” so to speak, and not gain any more xp until the end of the battle right?
I just started FFTA2. Some questions I’d like some answers on:
When a character joins my clan, do they stay forever? I just got the thief girl in the beginning (the girl’s name starts with an A, I forgot the exact spelling), and she doesn’t seem like she’ll stay permanently.
Does the name of my clan matter? I just left it at default (Gully) since I was too lazy to think of one on the spot. Is there anyway to change it later?
Will max number of units stick to 6? I’m not sure who to level and how many I should level.
I’m still kind of confused as to how bazaar works. Do I just get new equipment if I trade in the required TYPE of materials that all have the same class (A-E)?
Awful, FFTA2, one of the trials doesn’t allow you to use magic, and the mimics abuse the fuck out of you with spamming thunder.
So what do I do? Switch to mages and equip the thunder robe (or whatever absorbs thunder) and think I can get away with using focused staff attacks and air render.
Nope!
That shit is classified as using “magick” and therefore I fail the mission.
