Yeah, it was mentioned a few page back in the thread. The solution is to go to options and set your control config the way you want for both P1 and P2. This way you won’t have to worry about configuring your controls during a match.
My worst experience so far online was against this extremely laggy Lion player, and all he kept doing was low move mix ups. I barely won it, cause my fuzzy wasn’t working all that good.
I’m afraid that alot of the ranked matches are going to be like that, with people lagging on purpose to build their ranks up. So I’m probably not going to play ranked matches that much if at all. I’ll just stick to player matches, and I’ve been kicking some serious ass too. I’m about to get back on xbl in about 20 min or so.
i just got my copy. Does this game have voice chat? I would like someone to show me VF ways without me getting destroyed.
Hey guys, I’m picking up my copy tomorrow after school. See, I would have had it today, but my grandfather isn’t doing so well, and he’s in the hospital, so no pick up today. Tomorrow definitely though. I need to get rid of some stress.
Got a copy. Holla at me. Gamertag is in my profile. I’m right now learning new character for this game, so I will be sucking at times.
Sidenote: They did a good job of bringing this game to the 360, I just wish the training mode and online mode were more fleshed out.
No character switching between re-matches? Japan fails at online multiplayer. How hard is it to include something so basic?
Halfway thinking they took it out to reduce lag now. But who knows. Is frustrating at times, but it’s pretty common place in VF for people to do long sessions (if not entirely play) with one character.
@Lilman. Yup, has voice chat. I think it’s actually required by all XBL titles to have voice chat of some sort.
Props to everyone I played today. It’s great seeing others enjoy the game and know what they’re doing. Met some people clearly better than me, and it made me happy lol. Also, this is the first XB game I’ve played on live where -everyone- I played with and used hte mic was kind lol. Threw me off gaurd. Complimenting me and shit, asking me how I am.
I really don’t have any complaints at the moment, but I may have a few as I get further into it. For the time being I’m loving it.
I actually kind of like that feature. Forces you to adapt rather than counter-pick. To each his own.
True, though when you challenge people you can see who they have picked already lol. Granted, I think they can decline your challenge but you could reverse counter pick by doing that lol.
I’m really forcing myself to go with opponents who have better records than me or use my trouble characters. I figure since it’s just online, better to learn than to boost my ego haha.
the game is so vast with just one character. plus theres no record of win/loss ratio in private room. u also can look at it as an oppertunity to train.
im glad theres no rematch unless its private room, very good idea.
ill probably be on later btw :lovin:
Agreed about the training mode. Going through the command lists in dojo mode in VF5, I am REALLY missing the text box that told you what you were doing wrong (ie inputting a direction too slow/fast, not pressing a certain button at the right time during moves that require a 2 button press etc) from VF4.
It was daunting learning even the most basic functions of VF4’s system with that hella detailed encyclopedia it had, I can’t imagine what new people to the game are going through without it (or rather the ones that don’t know to goto VFDC).
i have a really silly question, but does anyone know what the purpose of the Orbs (i.e., “Dragon Balls”) are for in Quest Mode? I’ve collected 2 sets of them, and it showed it unlocked something…but what?
…I wished I had your stroke of good luck meeting those people…
I play El Blaze, so whenever I win, I hear Lei Fei stance spammers complain and bitch about the fact that a “shitty” character like El Blaze can sneak in a win.
^You get a special item when you collect an orb set. Usually its an item you cannot buy at the store.
When you received the orb items, a box didn’t pop up telling you what you’d unlocked when you entered character customization, like with normal won/unlocked items?
I still need 1 more to complete my first set, but I didn’t think there was anything more to it than regular items (besides collecting the orbs).
I brought my ultra scrubby Brad and later an even worse Jeff online last night. I got worked with Jeffrey, I didn’t even win a single match, knowing over half-life combos is worthless when your defense is horrible and you can’t interupt for shit. Luckily, my Brad is decent for a scrub. My defense still sucks, but I was able to avoid attacks and throws by accident. Just by continuing my attacks into his duck stances. Maybe one day, I’ll be able to do that on reaction or at least anticipation.
I don’t recall seeing any GT’s from here, I’ll add you guys when I play again. For the most part, the people that did talk were very friendly, even after handing me my ass, they offered a good game compliment. Of course, they could have meant it in a sarcastic way, but I’ll take what I can.
LOL at how early VF obviously must be in the US for people to think that El Blaze is shitty.
I plan to pick this up with the VF5 stick today or tomorrow, I’m a VF scrub though. I have VF4 but didn’t play it too much. El Blaze and the red headed huge dude interest me the most.
Or rather being in the US for players bitching about a shitty character winning.
