Thanks a ton man. I’ll try this stuff out when I get a minute to play again.

Ahh haha, one of the best videos I’ve seen.
KrsJin:
I was very brusque with people posting nonsense on VFDC because they needed to be reminded that what they say ought not to be valued by anyone until they become a solid player. Especially when they list shit moves like 1P+K with Jeff in their top 10 list. They don’t know what they’re talking about, and yet they act entitled to post in a thread where people are ranking the best moves with their character. That is absurd to me. No one is entitled to post. It’s not some kind of Lockean inalienable right to make posts on the goddamn internet, it’s a priviledge and one in contexts such as a factual discussion of a competitive game with at the very least a basic, minimal level of respect instead of firing off with whatever comes to mind at the time. General is a great place for that, both for VF5 and for the whole fourm at VFDC, but otherwise it is unneeded clutter and only serves to obfuscate the useful info.
When I was referring to players having a certain mentality about the game, I didn’t mean that there was a narrow methodology for becoming good. Do whatever as long as it works out for you, but it requires a certain degree of mental toughness to get there regardless of who you are or what you plan to get out of the game. It has nothing to do with your outward personality. If you ask glory or other people who’ve played me on live I’m usually a pretty jovial chap inclined to make dumb comments and trash talk. I’m not a strong, silent type at all, nor do I endorse such a boring countenance in any context whatsoever.
Hah, someone asked me are VF players assholes?
I said “Yes.” He said, “Why?” and I said imagine Americans
with a Japanese gaming mentality and NONE of the tact.
and he said:
“I’d punch someone like that in the face.”
outside of shag and maybe 2-3 other people whose names escape me at the moment every vf player i have met is an elitist prick
it’s probably because you’re not a very good player, bacardi
but I am a better mod :wonder:
The hardcore VF players I’ve met have been super nice and accomaditing. It could be more than just the game…
-Most- of the veterans I’ve actually talked to have been real nice or at least acknowledge me lol. Those who seem rude and cocky, they turn out to not be so good for the most part, and don’t understand where they got their ego.
it’s funny to see that people dont realise how different online play is compared to arcade play
you will see a game get opened up muuucchh faster than you would see at the arcades, arcades are very limited which quickly cultivates a tier list of whats best to use, ofcourse your gonna have problems against eileeen, she’s new, she has a unique way of playing the game obviously because it’s newer, they cant risk things like that with older characters, they can only make it new enough to make fans happy
i noticed how funky eileen is but i like fighting her it makes me work harder, im using a pad and i was fighting a 9th dan eileen the other day, i loved it. games should be geared towards making you a master of all movements, it’s too bad people can complain about it
Everyone I played online was pretty cool and layed back. Most of them even complimented me on my Lei Fei costumes. I am starting to get the hang of them game, I just can’t mess with Jeffery and Wolf players.
Everyone i know from here and VFDC have been cool and welcoming and everything.
I think if people just chilled the fuck out, then everything would be cool.
Every forum always says that another forum is elitist and unwelcoming, WHY SO SERIOUS?
p.s. Fuck Eileen.
i didnt mean on the forums, I mean the ones I met in person
Is it possible to change the button config for online play? Because I have the Virtua Fighter stick and I have the config as:
PK
G
I tried the online play and it was defaults.
btw, I’m still trying to learn Jacky, so if anyone has at least intermediate level knowledge of Jacky or even the game in general and is willing to help me out, I can be online to play at anytime.
to KRSJin I did look at the wiki and it was really helpful, I’m just trying to remember all that stuff lol.
For the button situation, you have to set your configuration for both 1P and 2P sides when you go online. Otherwise you’ll get the stock setup when you play from 2P side. Just make sure you save it before going online, should be good.
Seriously, whenever I see someone ranked fairly high who uses her I pretty much look forward to a loss.
Not only that, but her winning taunts make me think she’s the most annoying character in the history of fighting games.
“Fuck Eileen,” I can’t wait until they nerf that little shit.
That’s what I was talkin about. Maybe it’s a Cali. thing? If I lived in cesspool like that or NY I would just figure everyone’s an asshole.
2d fighting gamers can be more elitist from what I’ve met(with the whole “fuck 3d 3d is the real shit”).
As far as I am concerned the tiers in VF aren’t as bad and doesn’t cripple a lower tier character as bad as SF or GG. One can actually use a Sarah character (low tier character in version C) and still dominate easily against a Kage or Lei Fei (top tier characters). It is all about learning your character and I agree with what you are saying it will require some work regardless of who you play.
Every VFDCer I’ve met in person has been generally pretty friendly & cool (even shang).
I HAVE to meet Shang after that “Kage is so cheap thread”. Shit was too beast
As far as old hats from VFDC, I only know Chanchai and Yosuke and they have both been too kind and helpful. I don’t know why VF get’s singled out for this moreso than any other game, it seems.
