I take it you don’t like it.
I liked enough to play almost all day yesterday, but those issues will become more and more blatant and frustrating as people improve at (or don’t and just quit lol) the game.
Thanks for letting us know about the game a year and a half after it came out EmX. Sorry you don’t like it though, guess we won’t be seeing you at tourneys/gatherings.
“Eileen has it all.” She doesn’t have wall moves! Which doesn’t make sense lol. For as agile as she’s suppose to be, not one wall move.
You will but I will be playing eileen ok
Seriously though, why are you so touchy about me talking negatively about a game that’s a clear step down from its predecessor? People on SRK assume VF can do no wrong, and that it takes years to get good, but frankly in VF5, a detailed knowledge of the system isn’t necessary with good characters, because there are no shortage of safe moves and braindead setups that you can force almost anyone to play around before the game gets interesting. That’s retarded. That is not a fun thing to do with a game. No one should have to do actual work to beat an Eileen scrub’s bullshit shenanigans after playing the game for a number of years beforehand.
The game is fine in some respects but it is very frustrating and is arguably a VF title in name only due to these crippling issues.
I find VF5 to be much better than Evo/VF4/VF3/etc.
Eileen annoying? Yes. Unbeatable? Nope. It just takes some time getting use to her and her game. Practicing will make you better, just like every other fighting game out there.
That’s just like your opinion, man.
Thank you for enlightening me. My mind is blown right now.
Touchy? I guess I am touchy in this case.
Anyway lol. I won’t argue with you on which is better, cause really, it’s all subjective. If you liked 4:EVO and 4:FT more, that’s fine. Do I think 5 is without problems? No. Do I consider it the best fighter for tournament play in terms of current games, without question I do (But that too is all subjective and personal taste related). Even with Kage, Lau and Eileen’s placings in tournaments, do I consider the game to be relatively balanced even with the known changes? Yup, especially compared to any other fighter out there. Do I feel lowest tier has an honest shot in this game? Sure do. Those are all traits I tend to like, but they aren’t necessary for a fighter to be good/great. Some of the most broken/un-blanaced games out there make for wonderful, competitive scenes.
I tend to see a trend whenever a new iteration of a series is released. Some approach it open minded only to adapt and enjoy it off right off the bat. Some swear against it because they don’t want the change and having to learn something new. Some swear against it initially and end up playing it/enjoying it. The one thing I’ve noticed about those who moan and groan that it wasn’t like the good ol’ days, they are usually looking for a reason to stop playing the game/series to begin with, and focus on all of their complaints with the game until they succeed in quitting. (Unless the game really does turn out to be complete junk of course.)
If I seem touchy, it isn’t so much at your critique of 5. There’s plenty who have said they don’t like VF, or the changes from 4 to 5. Some known veteran Japanese players have even stopped playing, either due to the changes to 5 or other reasons, but regardless, have stopped. As long as there’s still a scene, that doesn’t bother me, because I’ll continue to enjoy it until whenever, regardless. If anything, I might seem touchy cause I’m ridiculously tired of seeing your endless negativity towards anything which doesn’t fit your idealist and elitist philosophies.
The combination of all your attacking and threatening posts at VFDC and reading the reason you “quit” being a mod there on your LJ are the reason for the above comment.
Yeah, “American” gamers are impatient in terms of wanting information and often overlook what is available to them already. In this case, the Wiki you mentioned the mods working on. But seeing a post which asks for that information, is it really so bad? Frustrating at times sure, but to just full on attack them with written slander for the sake of what? To boost your ego and give you the ability to talk down to them rather than help them? Your philosophy on which players go on to become great and how they act to begin with is very skewed and flawed. Not every great player comes out of the gates more disciplined and “sterner” than others. Many seem to be that way, but there are many who just puts around with a game until one day it clicks. Your mentality and posts seemed to eliminate the opportunity to puts around. Hell, it even turned me off from posting at VFDC at one point, and I consider myself to have a rather hardcore mentality with the game now.
Anyway, I’m just venting and rambling now. And we all know how well walls of text go with online discussions, so I’ve already ruined my post haha.
EDIT: Maybe you would be better off if you didn’t play 5, and wait till 5:EVO comes out? Then decide whether you want to play it?
ill play you later today if I see you on
What? As opposed to your “high quality review” that you wrote? Yes, that was extremely mind blowing and revealed an incredible amount of insight about things that we had no idea existed in the game :looney::looney::looney:
That’s just like your opinion, man.
OUTRO!
People have issues fighting eileen?
As a Wolf player, do you have any sort of tips or useful moves for a beginning Wolf player (myself)?
Re: EMX.
You’re talking like a scrub. Seriously. I mean, come the fuck on. Two huge things stood out in your “review” and following rant: over-generalization and your usual elitist attitude.
Really? Are you actually going to stand by those statements? Because I’m pretty damn sure that you’re wrong on both counts.
And there’s the real reason you’re bitching. Holy shit, you actually have to change the way you play and maybe adapt to a new system? Never! You’ve been playing for a while, so by god the developers owe you a game that you can dominate in without any work!
uhhhh like what?
heres some combos
9p+k 63214pp
6p+g 3p+g 4p 2p 26p(there is an alternate version you can do on big characters but my notebook is at home)
46p+k p 63214pp
63214p+g into the wall then 9p+k p then 9p+k
33p+k 4k+g k (vs some characters you are going to have to dash after the 33p+k)
then you can do some of my favorite throw setups p k then g to cancel the k into giant swing
after cr p sometimes I buffer into 63214p and then since most people auto duck the 2nd p I dont do it and then pedigree the shit out of them.
I have a whole bunch of other stuff like off of the low reversal spin move which is
Probably be on within the hour, take a break, then be on later tonight.
I’d be getting online if I had the 360 version. Made the mistake of buying a PS3.
OH NOOES TEH PRACTICE!!!
You’re all fucking idiots. I’m bitching because of the imbalance in the amount of work Eileen has to do when you fight her without knowing the matchup vs. any other character. Her design is overly byzantine and she has an answer for everything. She is full of shit and one of the most broken chars in VF history. Quit deluding yourselves.
Did I say she was unbeatable? No. I didn’t even say she was the best in the game! But she’s just one of those characters, like Lei in VF4 but far, far worse, where you get screwed because you’re not playing Eileen’s game. That is frustrating. A bad player shouldn’t get an advantage just due to the character they play right off the bat. That is bullshit. I’d like my fundamentals to work to the extent that I can beat a scrub using simple strats and tools like any other char. Is that so bad?
Wanna know why I’m so frustrated with the retards who pretend to know stuff about VF online? It’s because their reading comprehension skills are nowhere near as potent as their egomanical, blinders-on, illogical relativist horseshit that passes for actual thinking in the community. If you don’t bother to listen to what I say and distort it into what you wanna hear, then that’s fine with me, but don’t expect me to treat you with any degree of courtesy or civility online. In real life, it’s a totally different story. I have no idea who you really are, but online I am going to treat you like trash because all you post is trash. That’s how I feel about it at this point. I already tried being the nice guy, I tried explaining to Myke that NAVF is going nowhere because no one wants to set their egos aside (including me) and just discuss the game and how best to play it. I went off on the balance and the overall design of VF5 because I saw changes that made it an inferior game to VF4. Does this ruin my day? Not at all. I enjoyed playing VF5 yesterday quite a bit, but I’m still going to let me criticisms out in the open, especially when there is no shortage of unsubstantiated praise for a game that only a handful of Americans know anything about.
Harden the fuck up Emx.
sorry I just got done beating off to eileen hentai doujins shag, wait for the refractory period to pass and all will be well
