Well, VF5 has a commercial here stateside. That in and of itself is big achievement.
I noticed alot of new people on today. Alot of 10th Kyus with 0-0 rating (or single digit) challenged me today. So, there are some new people filtering in as time goes on.
And yeah, a virtual arcade would be cool. I also have a soft spot for “quarters mode” on some of the fighters out there, but it makes me feel dumb to be in an electronic line of people.
And it would bite to lose to someone in a close game and have to wait for 2 people to cycle through before you get a rematch.
that’s the way it is in the arcade too- when the top player squeaks by you, you have to wait behind the other scrubs while his win streak keeps climbing.
It’s legit. All it says in the two important lines is Version D is set for early 2008 and that Evolution is to be determined. Along with the appearance of two new characters.
I’m actually elated at this news. The only thing that has me upset is knowing the lag time the console versions will suffer as a result. I like to keep up with the joneses just in terms of playing at the same time lol. Gona be tough to see all this cool new stuff we can’t yet play.
Also really hoping the EVO version hits both the PS3 and 360, with as much content as VF4:EVO had. That would be ridiculously insane.
I picked up the game on Sunday when the whole circuit city thing was in effect. If anyone can show me some good tips with El Blaze, I would greatly appreciate it. Just go ahead and add me to your FL
what sort of controls are you all playing the 360 version on? i’ve got a hrap3 which i was thinking of sticking a upcb with piggybacked 360 pcb into for this but i’d like to know beforehand what sort of experiences people have had using it with vf5, and on ps2 games too if you’ve tried it with them
The normal Giant swing is HCF throw. It does 80 pts. 60 with perfect safe fall {just ukemi}
If you do the command with the fastest input you get what is called the Perfect Giant Swing. You will know if you get it, the camera angle changes and Wolf screams “YEAH!” when the person is flung in the air. It does 100pts (half life :amazed: ) 80 pts with just ukemi.
I was trying Blaze yesterday(I kinda suck with him, and I’m still not sure if I should drop Kage for him). I guess this would help out if you’re interested in learning him:

Generally, I’ve found a liking in Kage, El Blaze, Brad, Jacky, and Vanessa. I still haven’t played enough to decide on a main (I may end up liking like all the characters to a certain extent) but I’ll get there eventually.
p.s. This game is very good online, especially if you have direct connection.

Well VF5 was the game that made me start playing fighting games again… I just picked it up about 3 days ago and I’ve started playing as Aoi, I’m gonna have to get myself a memory card so I can move my character around with me. I’m also looking at ordering up one of those Arcade In A Box Solo 360 controllers for this and SSF2THD when it comes out. Anyone have one?
I finally got the nerve to start playing online matches, and I got obliterated. Played 15 matches, only won 3. Fucking Lion, he is my nemesis, fighting against him is an uphill battle when using Wolf, he’s too damn slow. Everything he does, including his basic punches are too damn slow it seems.
God I suck, but I guess I just need to keep playing to figure out what the hell to do…
