Also, is there any self proclaimed VF experts here at SRK? I’m looking for someone who really knows the game well, and can teach me Jacky or Lion, basics, etc over XBL. I will pay you for your time. Seriously.
No disrespect to SRK but why don’t you check out virtuafighter.com, all the best North American players are there.
I don’t know much about Lion but I can definately help you with Jacky.
Everyone in VF has identical stamina.
As for a throw break post earlier that information was sort of wrong. You can break 0 frame throws, you just have half the time to do it. The throw break window starts about 10 frames before the throw connects (thanks to input buffer) and lasts about 10 frames after it begins to animate. All-told it’s about 1/3rd of a second for grab throws, 1/6th of a second for 0 frame throws.
The only beef I have is the fact that you cannot switch the stage or your character once you get into a private match.
Its ok, but if you are going to purchase that guide, go to Best Buy because its clearanced out for 1 cent.
Thats if you can still find any left.
So I brought up some of the 360 online issues in Sega’s support website.
Here was their reply.
Very reassuring.
But it’s MAX though, the Max. You know… Max
EDIT: Also in Virtua Tennis 3 though, you couldn’t switch characters but yeh i tried to play some tennis online but no one was on, I just know that you can not switch characters cause it was following the same format as VF5 is. So VF5 got it from VT3. And VT3 supposedly has smooth online too last i heard.
. . . but jeff and wolf are generally going to take less damage from float combos than goh, b/c of weight classes.
Everyone in VF5 has the same vitality? I sure feel like I have more life as Wolf or Jeffry.
Everybody I see above 3rd Dan is Lion. Retarded low double-kick, free up-down attack.
i’m 4th dan el blaze.
kinda sucks there isn’t much people online right now to actually level up against but instead me leveling up all these 1st and 2nd dans because i suck. :looney:
oh yeah i’ve played against one 5th dan wolf earlier but that guy is just too good. i forget his tag but it had the word design in his name.
That’s because of weight, they’re harder to juggle thus less damage.
That goes without saying, and that was clearly not what he meant. As you can see, it was indeed news to him. But yes, that’s true too. But then, on the other hand, Aoi is basically designed as a featherweight grappler who is worse off getting floated than nearly anyone.
That’s the PS3 guide from March.
That was pretty cool of you to send that email, I think I’ll follow up with something similar.
Oh yeah, some BB’s were too lazy to junk out 1 cent game guides this month, so if you see that guide, get it.
That and that GH3 Sex Pistols guitar plate for 360 and PS3, thats 1 cent too
Aoi online gives me probs. If her fighting style was more Aikido instead of spinning around dancing and shit, I’d probably play her.
I can’t do 270s on the x360 d-pad for shit. So while Goh may be more of a grappler, I’ll just keep hitting Splash Mountains with Jeff.
I wish I could play Akira. I think my game as him fails because:
A.) I can’t do the double palm/byakko reliably. Buffering from a backdash makes me feel greasy, and I usually get hit out of the backdash.
B.) I can’t do dragon lance or spod.
C.) With the d-pad, there’s no telling for me whether it’ll be a DE or SDE.
Any tips for noob Akiras out there? Goh makes me feel abusive (I’ll sometimes sit there and throw like… 4+ D+Ps… waiting…) and Jeff makes me feel like I’m abusing high/low (lots of sidekicks from me, low stabs, etc.)
From Dec. Arcadia (might’ve been posted)
S+ - Lei Fei, Kage, Vanessa, Eileen
A - Lau, Shun, Pai, Wolf, Brad, Akira
B - Goh, Aoi, Jeff, Jacky, Blaze
C - Lion, Sarah
Akira went up… Jeff, Goh, etc. stay bleah.
Dont mindlessly spam akira elbow. Though it is good, a good player will catch on to that in a second.
Learn to use his sabaki’s they come in handy
Practice combos with akira ALOT. his combos take alot of work to get down. Playing akira is not easy in ANY respect
How exactly do 0 frame throws work/how are they done? Can anyone do them?
0 frame happens when your opponent is either idle or a throw is guaranteed (ie -12 frames of disadvantage).
If your opponent does nothing but hold block in theory if you press throw you will get a 0 frame throw (so long as you are in range of course).
However the common defense in VF is the fuzzy guard which removes that inactivity therefore there are “0 frame throw set ups” which usually refer to anti-fuzzy guard tactics like delay throw, dash throw, PKG throw, and stance cancel throw.
PS: You have insane lag bro, where in the hell in the USA are you at? I played your Lion and like was holding down block and would still get sweeped cause it wouldn’t come out till 4 seconds later.
I’m in NYC, I usually don’t lag much, last night might have been different. Really sorry about the super-scrubby Lion that was actually my friend who I had just shown the game to. His strategy consists of 2K and 8P.
Thanks for the help with 0 frame throws, but I still don’t really understand. Are you saying that if the opponent is just blocking and I throw them, my throw comes out in 0 frames?
