watching it a 3rd time, the zod vs. clark fight was way too short but it was still pretty good. just seeing how zod ragdolled clark with sheer brute force for 2 minutes was still good enough for me. zod was kickass the entire episode, the part where lana was on the floor and he just picked her up like a feather was priceless, i need an avatar of that.
i think that they shouldn’t have packed so much stuff in to one episode. the premier should’ve been two hours or they should have continued it next week.
anyway, the next episode is called “sneeze”, guess what new ability clark finally developes? =]
well, you do know there’s a no tights, no flight rule for the show, right? so we won’t see “clark” flying any time soon. the only time he has flown was when he was kal-el, and in the 100th episode where he hovered at the top of the fortress with lana, that doesn’t really count since that day had to get erased lol he also kind of superjump flew when he disarmed the missile that was going to hit smallville earlier in season 5 so i guess that doesn’t really count either.
as much as i’d like to see clark fly, it’d probably be best if they save that for the very last episode of smallville when he actually embraces his destiny and grows up some more.
thats why this show is awesome… a lot of people were bitching when they found out lex would be zod and we wouldn’t be getting an actual actor that looked like terrance stamp to play zod but they kind of made up for that by showing this part in the premier.

The Clark vs. Zod match should’ve just been the whole episode. Fuck all the other stuff; all of it could’ve been handled in five minutes, but it dragged out to over half an hour.
i think i’m the only one disappointed. Everything happened way to fast (the fight scene and the quick death of Zod?) jesus, i wanted to learn more about Zod…Clark should’ve stayed in prison for like 2-3 episodes so we know what the cubicle prison felt like… This should’ve packed more action, crazy turn of events in 2-3 episodes. GODDAMIT
actually, yeah…this should’ve been a 2hour event like other season openers. Still, the stuff that did happen was incredible. It’s a strange thing…this show typically has some of the best season premieres and cliffhangers ever…but the regular episodes throughout the season usually suck.
Don’t tell me that lame-o punk stain Jimmy Olsen is actually going to get a piece of Chloe. Come on now…this just can’t happen. I guess Chloe has to get some dick from somewhere, since Clark is too damn stupid to hit it. He did seem a bit jealous though…
The fight was great, imo. It was a lot better than that 3 second squash job Clark put on the black guy from Krypton in the previous season premiere…heh, I still remember that…it was the textbook definition of “anticlimactic”.
Lana has evolved, and is much hotter now, imo. However, Chloe and Lois are still the superior pieces of ass on the show. Damn, I would do anything to Chloe. Anything at all. She’s too adorable.
i blame chloe! when clark came back, he was definitely looking to hook up with chloe… did you see the look on his face? lol fucking jimmy olsen had to ruin everything.
i wonder what other people/things came out of the phantom, i counted the beams of the light when clark came out and it was 6 excluding clark… i don’t think raya is dead since she could have been healed by the sun when she came out the phantom and on to earth. so 4 of them could be raya, nam-ek, aethyr, and that phantom thing we saw at the end of the episode, dunno what the other two are.
this season should be great, it shouldn’t feel as filler-ish as the fifth season, now clark has to worry about not just meteor freaks but even kryptonians/phantoms. i’m really excited about flash coming back to smallville for this season, that flash episode from season 4 is one of my favorite.

Sigh… did we all watch the same episode? I’ve watched it twice now, the second time specifically for seeing who exited the Phantom Zone. Raya, and the two guys she was fighting DID NOT get sucked out the exit.
everyone at the gate got sucked out to earth. That means Raya is all fine thanks to her Krytonian lineage and we now have 4 criminals with super-enhanced powers wrecking havok on Earth.

The person who is playing Olsen looks like the person who played Iceman in the X-Men movie series. Hmm, it’s the twin of the person who played Iceman in X-Men.
Anyways when Clark returned he was ready to give Chloe some energy boost and give her some wings. Too bad Iceman’s twin, Aaron Ashmore (aka Jimmy Olsen in Smallville-world) probably gave Chloe some earth shaking experience while Clark was gone.
I wonder if this will turn into a three-way dance like how that “other” Clark relationship went, lol.
Aaron Ashmore is playing Jimmy Olsen. His twin Shawn Ashmore… not only played Iceman in the X-men movies… but he also starred as a villain in Smallville. He starred in two episodes. He was the guy that stole Clark’s powers thru electricity. Pretty funny how Clark couldn’t see the similarities between the two.
