The NEW Official Xbox® Thread: $399 system without Kinect coming in June

If that happened I’m sure Kamiya would be happy. He’d have less ‘Go Eat Shit’ tweets to hand out.

I like Phil Spencer! The hate i have had for the xbone seems to have cooled off.

Whens discount on Titanfall? Still not dying to play it, but its the only game I would pick up on a discount.

Have no idea who he is since I dont play regular 60 dollar AAA regularly games anymore, but it sounds good. The only 2 games I have on the One are digital any way (lot of my last gen games were also) so never made a big deal about that issue.

More indie games sounds cool. Id have more time to play them any way.

The fact that he says that he wants the games to come first along with him acknowledging Shenmue is more than enough
for me to believe that Xbox is walking the right path as of now.

If Shenmue 3 turns out to be a xbone exclusive in the future i would buy that xbone faster than da speed of light.

DVR Control & OneGuide Coming to SmartGlass.

OneGuide coming to Europe and Canada soon (in April OS update).

From the preview forums:

Smartglass Beta apps for Android and Windows 8:

New universal resume for Xbox Video:

“Starting this week, you can rent (or buy) a movie on Xbox Video, begin watching on one screen, then pick-up right where you left off on another. Perfect for movie junkies or anyone who loves marathon-watching TV shows, Xbox Video makes it easier than ever to watch whatever you like on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, or even online at XboxVideo.com.”

For whatever reason, preorder of X1 version of Watch Dogs is $49.99 on Gamefly while every other version in $59.99.

Also, newegg.com has $10 promo gift card given with Watch Dogs preorders. I believe this expires today.

For normal people (i.e. not me) that use apps on a daily basis, this could be huge. I don’t mess with the app-side of Windows 8, & don’t even own a smartphone (much less a Windows one) however…them console emulator apps…working on an Xbox One. That could be a game-changer for me.

EDIT: Obviously this is just wishful thinking on my part. Nothing of the sort can be confirmed at this point. But this is probably the first time I’m truly excited for the console.

Universal apps will definitely be huge, but it would see heavy moderation obviously. They’ve always been picky about what kind of apps end up on console.

Major Nelson says External Storage support is coming soon.

I would assume that will be the main feature for the May update.

I just got the new beta yesterday and they turned on friend notifications, improved DVR quality and all the other promised features. They’re working on squashing bugs before it goes public so I wouldn’t expect any other new stuff to pop up.

They did add a Manual System Updates feature. Will make things infinitely easier for people who use energy saving mode.

I never said or claimed any of these games were going to be ported to Xbox One. Was this just an attempt at getting a rise out of people in this thread?

I have all the consoles anyway so it doesn’t affect me at all.

Upcoming game Doodle God 2 will be a universal app

I take a couple things away from this. 1) Being able to pause the game while playing it on a Windows 8.1 PC or WP8 device, and then resuming it on the Xbox One? Crazy. Also 2) This is going to blow open not only the app selection for the X1, but the app stores for WP8 and Windows 8.1 as well. Companies had an excuse before by not making apps because of the unsatisfactory userbases on Win 8 or WP8, but universal apps basically combines both userbases and adds the X1 users for good measure.

Universal apps has soooo much potential.

Plex Coming To Xbox One (possibly)

Someone posted this yesterday on the Plex forums:

Plex app would most likely be better than whatever native DLNA browser Microsoft would have on the X1, so this is big if true.

Not a total shock since Plex is available on the Windows app store, but things like this are what people hoped would happen with the intro of universal apps.

This isn’t widespread info yet, but us beta testers just discovered that direct video uploading is coming to the Youtube app (probably with the April update).

The new app will have 10 achievements (no gamerscore). Uploading a video is one of them.

Update: it’s official news now.

anybody play the 360 version of titanfall yet? reviews havent popped up yet

Yeah, couldn’t resist, had to try it and see how it compared to the X1 version. It’s not bad at all. Visuals are solid, though definitely way more washed out on the color palette/vibrance. Pyrotechnics are toned down, explosions and Titanfall drops are more subdued. Smoke effects not nearly as smooth and translucent, pilot animation isn’t as fluid. Framerate is somewhere between 30-40fps, haven’t seen it drop significantly(even in Last Titan Standing) but it gets a little choppy during really dense fights, and the hit detection is a little off at times
"Campaign" mode is missing a lot of the pre-match cinematics, and there’s some animation reduction across the board that’d you’d only notice if you played the X1 version a bunch.

Overall though, it’s pretty good port. Main thing is that gameplay is pretty much intact, controls and gameplay is just as fluid and fast as the X1. Suffers on a technical level for sure, but easily best shooter on 360 now. Still fun, still plays great.
