Cheapskate consumers with no regard for game makers struggling to make a profit are what’s really wrong with the business.
But in this case, if the price drops just a month after release, people would be foolish not to take advantage.
what’s wrong with the industry is that these publishers have you handicaps believing 60 dollars is fair. and the biggest offenders (biggest handicaps) are the one’s willing to pay 60/70 bucks for a game.if you’re not consumer enough to look and try to find the game for as cheap as possible a or wait a little longer till a price drop you just suck imo. you know what if i can’t find it for the price i want? how about being a fucking man about it and saying fuck it i won’t buy, don’t need it. were talking bout fucking games, you will survive if you don’t buy a game you want day 1. i can’t believe how bitchmade the general public has become.
I have no problem paying $60 for a game if I’m going to put in a lot of hours into it. I brought Dragon’s Crown on day one and I got around 80 hours on. I got my money worth.

People will buy what they want, when they want. I think buying a new iPhone on the day it comes out every year is a waste, but I don’t tell people how to spend their money.
If you’re too poor to afford every game you want on day 1, that’s fine. But don’t go popping off as if any of this is new. New games have been $50-$60 since the 8-bit era. The only difference is that the value for your money is incredibly more in favor of the consumer considering some games take millions to create.
I just set up my X1/Kinect. I can basically whisper and it hears me. I figure a lot of people don’t do the audio test right (I know I’ve seen or heard of MANY people skipping the test when starting up for the first time). I have yet to have to repeat myself, so that’s cool. This might actually work out.

Finally getting to crack Lego:MSH this weekend now that the GF is away. I don’t know if that has Kinect support: this could be pretty fun.

Sleeping Dogs & Lara Croft & The Guardian of Light are January’s Free Games With Gold
The two best Games with Gold titles so far, imo. Never been big on Halo.
Guardian of Light is the direction I wish the TR series continued on in (tons of platforming, more organic puzzles) & Sleeping Dogs shits all over any other traditional open-world game (partly because it stars an Asian :razzy:).
Don’t movies typically have more man power and bigger budgets than most game developers/publishers? And those release at $10-20. Pretty sure they need to sell more tickets/dvd/blu-ray sales than your average game to get into the green too.
I’ll pay $60 on day-1 if I find the game is worth it. Typically, I wait for games to hit the $20 range or so. That, combined with all the crazy sales that have gone on this gen and last, I’ve put together a collection of games that shits on my entire collection of PS2/GC-era games and earlier(since this has been the cheapest gen next to PS1/PS2-era discs.) Right now, I’m looking to get more PS1/PS2/GC/handheld era games than current and last-gen ones.
In the end, a 20-60 dollar game will give you more “value” and “entertainment” than a 10-20 dollar movie, since games typically have more replay value than movies and will last you longer.
The odd games releasing at $20-40 day 1 have been very appealing to me last-gen, too.
Prices for games are all over the place on Amazon right now. DR3 bumped back up to $59 (probably cause it’s the main One game people are buying) and fucking Ghosts is cheaper than the version for 360.
Best Buy website has DR3, Ryse and Forza on sale for $39.99. And I just got DR3 for $49.99 last week. Christ.

Finally got to play an XB1 today, for a short time at least. Not sure if I like the controller more than the 360 version. The bumpers felt really weird to me. Probably just something you’d get used to eventually though.

Now that we’re finally seeing some of the OG costumes for KI I have to admit I’m somewhat interested. Yeah, it’s a shallow & scrubish mentality, but I’m finding that nostalgia is the main thing driving me towards fighting games at all these days. /oldman
So after all of that crap they end up getting their best launch ever any ways? Nice. Overall this launch for both systems was completely better than last launch. More features and better games for both systems for less money.
Yeah OG costumes will be fun to mess with whenever Microsoft allows me to upgrade to the ultra package. I really like the new designs though and give them a more serious and sophisticated look than they had before. They say Spinal is going to be really annoying so I wonder what that’s going to be like. People already whine about Glacius, Sabrewulf and Sadira (well they whine about everyone really, but especially them) so I can’t wait for Spinal to just be the Blanka of the game and have all kinds of shenanigans.
Sabrewolf = a whole bunch of dashing through + mash light attack > combos. So braindead.
