The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

add in a fleshlight mod hidden inside the stick where u can unwrap the top of it and use it, easy removal etc. that, along wth an anime chick, ensures that the waiting during the brackets are a joy

I’ve already tried that but I could not find an arcade stick with enough space. Fleshlights are are very big and very cheap feeling things : (

meh, i wouldn’t say cheap unless you mean denegerating. not close to the real thing, but lets be real, its better than a lot of the homemade options

:frowning:

it would be absolutely fucking hilarious to have a dildo as battop

£400 for a complete fleshlight stick by sam? tempting…

Nah, definitely mean cheap. The plastic is thin and has unfinished, sharp edges. The top screw cap isn’t airtight making it pretty much pointless, and there’s precious little actually holding the inner material in place aside from a poorly crafted rim around the lip. Oh - and they are awkward to dry after washing.

I’d rather spend an extra $20 to get a Tenga Flip.

well, insight is good. might take a look at those instead then if i make a decision. ty

When you make the stick it’s got to be a padhack, keep the rumble motors and attach them to the “marital aid”

Probably the only way I’d play KI on the xbone tbh

I just scrolled through 156 pages of art to arrive at a discussion of fleshlights…

Anyway, I’m working on Batman art for my Injustice fightstick and I thought I’d get some opinions. Which do you like most and how would you make it better? (I filled the buttons with blue just to see where they are better, but I’ll be able to put the art in the clear buttons that come with the stick.)

Option 1: Someone coincidentally posted one like this a long time ago, but I vectorized it because it was really low-res. I feel like I should add some things in the bottom right and top left:

Option 2: This seems too simple but I don’t know how to add to it.

Option 3:

Option 4 (doesn’t exist yet): Put a bunch of panels together, which looks really good when people in this thread have done it, but will take a long time.

just remember that while you can add art to the buttons, its not flawless and the art will hurt if its a lot of details at that exact spot.

i kinda like the second, but idk. im a sucker for simple things and i think it got the greatest potential, especially if you paint the stick black. but joker will look horrible since his whole face is button’d up. just go 6 button and you’re fine with that one though

I don’t think arcade sticks can be too minimalist UNLESS you plan on having this setup in like a display case in your man-cave.

I mean, most of the time your hands block the art anyways.

As dej said, button art usually doesn’t work the way most people want it to. The best button art is usually something that isn’t meant to blend in with the background, but instead stand out (like having logos or icons inside the buttons, instead of the stick art).

Lol@fleshlight arcade stick.

@Slusho64 option 1 is a winner for me…i suggest simply flip/mirror the entire template so the full colour batman is on the left of the stick and the the rest on the right.

Here’s a rough concept I’m toying with

Other concepts I’m debating between are Akuma/Iori, Poison/Morrigan, Filia/Valentine.

so far with this morrigan concept my thought process is: black balltop + black buttons + minimalist morrigan = good.

SRK needs to add a Fap button.

Here’s the source just for you @gahrling

Or just use the polygonal lasso tool. Right click the Lasso tool, dej. It should bring down a drop down menu with different types of Lassos. You want polygonal lasso.

Looks fantastic! I really dig the fact that you only used two colors on the entire thing, makes it look much cleaner IMO

Current artwork I’m working on for stick I’m having made…been a long time since I actually messed with PS x.x

like i told someone else. are you ready to give up the piece where the buttons are? if you are, that art looks sick

Well I’m getting clear buttons, so I might just have the spots filled with the parts of the image that’d be cut off…Or Jotaro’s palm symbol and Dio’s Heart. Still on the fence.

Yeah I like clean and simple looks, that’s not to say that @ribu 's jojos stick doesn’t look incredible (and it’s simple in its own way :P) just that sometimes less is more.

Also, @d3v are you this good? http://vimeo.com/81847258

Regarding manually cutting backgrounds out-
While I admit my method is far from perfect and there are other (better) options out there, I usually take the eraser tool and use an interesting method.

As most of you know when you click once (with paintbrush or eraser etc) and then click again after holding shift, it creates a straight line from point A to B with your tool. I’ll go up close to a crazy close % with the view with like a 2pt or 3pt size eraser and do that little by little over the image. This prevents me making any curve errors with my mouse and when you back up it looks smooth.
The lasso tools are convenient, and I know newer versions of PS have better tools and do a better job of recognizing the backgrounds and such. I’m still using CS1 (8.0) and that’s what I’ve been using the last 9 or so years so I’m far behind on those new tools.
