The NEW Official Arcade Stick Art Thread NO IMAGE QUOTING!

Download art template on the first post its the most accurate template out there. As deathzero said dont resize anything or scale the template, just transfer your pic and resize to the templates proper sizes!

Dont know much bout pdfs but if its like a psd and its 300 dpi i believe its going to be to big for you to email. Where did you order your plexi art from?

Shadaloo.eu
How does everyone else do it?

Hmm how big is your current pdf?

@KaboXx i downloaded the template from the first post, its the same as the others, and its big on my computer, but the measurements are 13.5 and 8.5 which is what its suppose to be, but still the picture is too big, and when i print it its bigger than its suppose to be, the picture is the same size as i showed on the picture above.

51.63M!

Zip or rar it before you email it.

I’ve printed pictures using that template never had an issue its important that you dont mess with any of the pre settings art accommodated to the template leave it as is at 300 dpi also check that the image size in pixels is 4200x2550. Have you also checked its the regular te template and not the extended on?

I believe that exceeds what most emails limit gap on uploads. Contact someone on the website see what other ways they can receive your file i know there’s a way i just cant think of any at the moment >_<. When i bought my plexi from art he had an upload art thing on his site…

@ KaboXx Cheers, did so, they recommended WeTransfer. Have sent now.
Thanks for your help dude.
Did I do something wrong to end up with such a big file in the first place? The Imageboard instructions mention files being 300dpi, and many years ago when I did some art for print mags I always saved at 300dpi. I thought that was the print standard.
I am soooo out of practice with Photoshop…

I tried that, only took it down to 38Meg.
Sorted now, but thanks for the advice.

You did it right 300 dpi is the way to go for the highest quality out of your project. Reason files come out so depends on how big your image is in pixels and inches. For instance templates usually come out bigger then 20 megs due to how big they are i personally have had psd being as big as 600 mbs!!! Layers also depict the size of your file. I use to upload full templates on the work i post on this thread but files are just to big i havent had a file under 250megs in the past couple of months. So i changed that by merging the main layers and stuff to bring the size down to around 35mbs then add the whole zip or rar ur file brings it down to 25mb.

Cool beans looks like they had the option for that!

im gonna try to print my previous artwork again tomorrow, except this time im gonna use this template, which looks a bit different from the one i used before, hope it works this time

when saving in photoshop as .pdf make sure you uncheck "preserve photoshop editing capabilities. the file i saved went from 24.5 mb to 10mb just by unchecking that.

I unchecked the editing capabilities, but had layers checked. I also saved as Press Quality, after researching, 'cos it said that High Quality Print was for desktop style printers, and Press Quality was for professional printers. does this make a difference?

doesn’t make a difference at 300 dpi

Sorry about the bad photo, only camera I have is my palm. I’ll upload better quality pics when I’ve finished having the case painted over on the new stick thread. Just wanted to show you guys the progress.

my first post ever, my first time making a stick, chose the worst possible quality coming out of photoshop, i saw someone get an infraction before for their image size being too big, I’m more than open to criticism, before i put it on my stick, what do you guys think?

made this too, don’t really like chun, its super generic, unfinished, and i dont intend on using it but i thought i’d post it anyways

you gotta work on your rendering, i can see white in ibuki’s hands and you can still see chun li’s outline. Ibuki’s background picture doesn’t really look like ibuki (but that’s just my taste) and chun li’s background is awfully pixelated, you need a higher quality picture.

My first VLX Template…tried something simple to get used to it.

Looks great Matt keep up the good work, I see that the upper mid screw caused a tiny crack on the plexi cover or is that a scratch. Man can’t wait to see this arcade stick get done with that awesome paint job you have planned and spidey swings it’s merry way back to the new arcade stick thread.

thanks for the advice, i didn’t even notice the white in the hands, i also went and wrote ibuki up top, moved the ae logo on the signature, and clone stamped away the date, overall tried to make it look a little better, and the chun was pretty bad…honestly i’m not sure why i posted it
also rendered it highest quality this time
