that shit look way to cheap to use… keep back never looked so gay…I’ll stick with trying out Bang and maybe Haku. The only sweet looking characters in the game.
I wanna use the Pokemon/Potemkin lookalike. I’ll bounce around to be evenly bad with everyone so I cant disciminate.
Prepare to get frustrated as hell though. Bang might be able to get in, but Hakumen looks like trash.
Dunno if you got my text Jordyn, but I’m about to head out and get some food. If your phone is still off I might just drop by your place considering you’ll likely be there.
I also sense a lot of BB hate on the way.
Nobodys trying to take away old games.
Sf4 wants to be your new friend, maybe even take you to a baseball game, but 3s will always be your daddy.
Some people only play games that want to take me/them for a ride.
They actually make up less than half, and every character except Hakumen and Tager have qualified so far. A little under half of the qualifiers are done. The Carl player was not DIO so he will probably qualify.
I like what Brawl and SF4 do for bringing in new players, but its annoying to see them do so much better than games I see as having way competitive value. I wont talk about them anymore though.
Who all is trying to meet the C-bus hooters tourney 5/23?
I’d rather get into an unknown like BB than something like SFIV, which just reminds me of better Capcom games. BB or KOF will be completely new experiences at least.
Unless we get enough for a side tourney marvel count me out. I’ll leave that in your hands Chris.
Well I think he should just cancel it, but if people are still going I can get a carfull of Cle to go I think. So trying to take stock of Dayton/Indy to see what kind of numbers we’re looking at I don’t really wanna be down there all day to watch 5 people playing 360 SFIV.
Oh and its not really just like GG, its about as similar to GG as SF4 is to 3s.
And I actually have REALLY bad ADD lol. I have learned to cope with it pretty well though.
I really don’t think it’s that drastic of a difference. It’s maybe a little watered down, but it doesn’t seem too different. Still got the different ways to guard, though it behaves slightly differently with barrier management. Still got roman cancels. Still got gatling combos. Still got burst except it’s much worse but you get one every round.
New stuff?
-wakeup options (front roll/back roll/quick stand)
-No negative edge except for specific moves, instead hold a button to repeat an input for 5 consecutive frames
-throw system (can throw during block/hit stun, long throw tech window, 2-button throw allows for kara throws)
-attack attributes (moves carry feet, body, and head attributes, so if I jump in doing an attack with head attribute only, and my opponent does a move that is invulnerable to head attribute, I miss no matter what the hit boxes say.)
-drive system sort of makes it easy to give each character a distinct gimmick, but GG characters all had unique gimmicks anyway, just without a drive button.
I’m sure I’m leaving a bunch of stuff out, but this is just what comes to mind right now.
So yeah, it’s not the same as guilty gear, but I think most guilty gear players will enjoy it, and I think most people who were afraid of guilty gear will enjoy it, because it’s kind of like playing guilty gear, only they’ll be able to learn from the beginning. People who just plain don’t like guilty gear probably won’t like it though.
I have been planning on going, but it seems like you and I are the only ones posting in there.
I’m not really on board with the prize being some 50 dollar display sword, considering the sponsors.
I’m also questioning you guys convincing this dude to run a bunch of games when I assume he can’t handle one yet. TvU…that dude obviously just favors the game and told the bigcity guy it was popular.
Other games would pass the time I reckon, but I was under the impression this would be a big-scale big-prize sf4 event. Not lookin good.
I still thought there was Ca$h money for SF4, so I’ll be going. I’ll be sure to bring my PS2 and 3s copy though if anyone wants to play.
Also its slower than GG.
Alot of us ain dayton are gonna come ghaleon. so dont worry! bro
3RD STRIKE FOREVER
I think I’m going to that thing in C-bus as well.
Adam, sorry about tonight. We can chill tomorrow (Wednesday) night. No raids, etc. I’m really kinda mad that I didn’t wake up to go to B-dubs. That shit would hit the spot right about now. Meh, I got a Worldcarver out of it.
The prize is pot $$, that hasn’t changed. He says he runs Madden tournies and stuff and he’s been really open to player suggestion, so I think he’s trying to get things together good.
I’m just trying to see what the venue space is all about. If it’s just big enough for a couple SFIV stations then I think it’s a bust.
I’m running 3s/SF:HD/Marvel anyway and I’ll be there to help seed/setup SFIV too, so as long we have people around familiar with the scene I think any tourney will run fine, esp if it’s a smaller thing.
We explained about TvC, so I’m sure he won’t devote more resources to it than necessary and is just having it cos the dude he knows likes it. That’s fine for tournies to have side events like 5 people will play (HnK & AH being common choices) as long as it doesn’t harm the bigger stuff
Maybe those flyers will attract some random dudes.
I’m goin
Lol, Madden guy is actually running that tournament.

That’s what I’m worried about too. From the pics I saw, we will be lucky to have two SFIV setups. I seriously doubt there will be room for anything else. We won’t know for sure until we actually get there tho.

LOL AH. Honestly, I don’t think I even want to set that up anywhere right now, the community is shot.
