Aye Adam let me know when you are trying to get new buttons and a stick. Its about time I operated on the old sentinel stick.
Edit: Aye isn’t that dude in you sig the one who got blown to bits by Shikamaru? Yeaaaaaaaaaa then Shika said " wheres your god now BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEITCH!"
Dammit, you caught me playing with loli :shake:
And I told you I play a shitty WLen, I got beat pretty bad for at least 10 matches before I could pull off her BnB.
Yeah, that fight was awesome. 2 of my favorite characters in that series going at it. Hidan is a beast man, gets his head chopped off and still keeps going.
Oh I suck at that game also, but I will actually play AA a lot I think, it will be nice to not have to fight an insanley uphill battle every fight. I was the guy who said:“What are you thinking, you can’t win with that character!” Or something like that.
I’m looking for people to interview for my up and coming podcast. I mostly play (i.e. I’m only good at) Smash Bros., but I’m interested in every fighter and the people who play them.
I’d like to interview local players to get the immediate community hyped up. If anyone’s interested just drop me a line here or check out my blog: Power Up
I’ve got a Gmail address that people can send inquiries to. NathanShields.PowerUp at gmail dot com.
Hopefully I’ll be able to hang with you guys soon too. I’d love to get more SFIV practice with great players.
“You can’t win with that character! I should know!” That’s what you said. lol It’s funny tho, cause my only win against the guy was with White Len. I know you came over to Paul’s house SB3 weekend, but we met briefly.
I dont care if its mvc3 or mahvel online…equally awsome. Im staying optomistic for now.
p.s. I can see why wong and gootecks want to popularize fighting games, because the will be able to make a living off of it. its a bad situation for the rest of us though.
I can definitely see how rampant commercialization would really hurt the community. Things would become too big at high levels for some people to take part in beyond spectatorship. If SFIV does get really big like that I wonder what would really happen.
Also, it seems like I chose the perfect time to pick up Marvel again! Don’t know if many of you saw in one of the other threads, but apparently G4 got hands on playtime and they claim that the gameplay is identical to the Dreamcast version. -Article-
I have no idea if that’s really true, but it’d help keep the current player base intact.
EDIT: Oh wow. I just checked out Capcom-Unity’s blog and they have a great article about what is all going on in Marvel. Lots of great news.
Won’t be as good as DC without color edit and soundtrack edit. We’ll see what happens again. I may finally learn this game when this comes out. Online play will be fail with any lag period though (I think). Hope the demo has MSP.
I added neutral jump roundhouse to my arsenal in SF4 and have shown improvement. Also read more about matchups and crossup tricks. Game’s starting to make more sense to me.
Also guys, I’m aware of the dangers of commercialization, but I’m sort of cautiously optimistic about it. I’m afraid, but also hopeful. It’s motivating me to improve anyway, which is a good thing. But whatever happens will happen with or without us, so we might as try to take it as it comes. I’m not sure if competitive fighting games will become a big deal or not, but Gootecks seems pretty certain.
Osirun, who do you want to interview? Just Dayton people, or all of Ohio, or tri-state or what? Sean Howard is a pretty smart GG player from Columbus, and I think he can explain the appeal of that game pretty well. He’s also going to SBO, so I think he would be a good person to talk to. He’s kojiroson on here I believe.
Guys, Iluminaudi wants us for bi-weekly something or others. What can we do? I know I don’t want to pay Jo and Adam 10 dollars every other week playing 3rd strike, but if we switched up games every time would people still come out? In Japan at the arcade I went to, we did ranbats every month, and it was just 100 yen (a dollar) to enter, and the winner got like a bag of chips or cookies or something. In other words, it wasn’t about the prize, it was just to test your skills and have a good time.
I’m thinking maybe if we just gave the store 5 bucks a piece (I don’t think a dollar would cut it for them, they might not even settle for 5, who knows) and the winner or top three got some sort of lol prize or something, and we switched up the game every week, could be fun. Also, we could casual in whatever games we felt like, just featuring one or two games at a time for the ranbats as long as everyone played. Another idea is 5 bucks for the store, then a dollar for the ranbat, winner takes all, but I think even that would discourage people from playing something that isn’t their main game. Either way, it’s cheaper than a movie, right? Does this sound like a good idea? Does anybody have something else in mind, or something to add? Please respond. I’m interested to know who would pay 5$ for something like this.
Oh also, on regular weekdays during store hours, they told me it’s cool just to come by and play whenever. No charge. Sounds like it might be good.
