Hey angelpalm do you have Iron Monkey? Not the Donnie Yen one but the one with Chen Kuan Tai?
Omg that shit is pure comedy!
Not off hand, but I might have Golden Monkey and Lady Iron monkey laying around. I will see if I can find it or it someone else might have it. This kid on Demoniod might up it for me in high quality if it was released on dvd.
Who is your favorite Venom?
Mine is Philip Kwok
oh, blades of fury is free to watch on youtube in the movies section. they have a ton of old martial art joints in the movie section.
yeah i don’t really like the anime style direction, i prefer plain old kung fu with a minimal amount of wires, if anything at all. luckily, i was able to forgive it because the underlying story and characters are excellent and most of the acting was good too.
with that said, I liked what they did in 14 blades where the guy uses his toolkit box to actually shoot real wires that would let him fly around.
has anybody here watched The Bund? chow yun fat seems to die in pretty much every one of his movies, and it all started here. this tv show was what made him super popular, and it contains a gruesome death scene at the end where he is gunned down for what seems like 20 minutes. i watched it as a little kid too lol so it was extra disturbing.
They remade this too, and I know I know you hate remakes and all, but still it was alright. HXM actually did a better job in the Bund than he did in ROCH (Which was very mediocre).
I can’t find the bar gun scene, but I have it. Maybe I try and upload it sometime when I’m not lazy.
They also remade ROTK, and Shui Hu Zhuan. Currently they working on Journey to the West.
China fucking going in on everything.
Speaking of the 80’s the only one I really like from the 80’s over the 2000’s is Royal Tramp aka (The Duke of Mount Deer).
Meng Lo, he is buff! no homo.
No kidding, they remade the Bund? I’ll have to go check it out.
Can they do a remake of journey to the west where the monkey, pig, and hairy dude are not portrayed as effeminate homos? i mean, goku, the manliest character in the history of the universe, is based off monkey, so they could at least try to not make him look like a woman. if they can pull this off, i approve.
yes, but if you are a fan of wuxia, you owe it to yourself to watch one of these series from start to finish, it is absolutely worth it.
Yea they did.
Here is the cast list. It came out in 2007.
I don’t know about Journey to the West remake. I’ve seen screen caps and I was kind of on the fence with it. I would still watch it, but enjoy it like the 90’s? That I don’t know yet.
some stunt men i know recreated a drunken master 2 scene
ROCH is great. I still love the theme song when Gu-gu flies on the screen.
Has anybody seen a kungfu series from Korea that translated is called “Nine-tailed Fox” or some shit like that? I remember watching it in Korea a few years back but I still can’t find it. It had like a group of people who were assassins. One dude was always listening to hip-hop on his headphones. One chick would kick your ass with a yo-yo. Another chick was a shapechanger. The main girl would get all pissed and her hair would turn all white and her eyes would go bloodshot.
I also dug the Impeccable Twins series. Although there wasn’t as much kungfu as I’d prefer, it was still pretty cool.
Sucks that almost everybody died in the end. The one brother was left an invalid with other one left taking care of him. Everybody else? The twins’ lovers? The Ice Palace Queen? All dead.
I hate to say it but Ong Bak 3 was a disappointment. But that was probably largely because there wasn’t supposed to be an Ong Bak 3. 2 & 3 were supposed to be one movie.
Ip Man 2 was really good but because Ip Man 1 was so perfect, it’s really tough for me to watch it again.
My sister swears by Legendary Assassin and 14 Blades. I haven’t seen either unfortunately. I also haven’t seen Mercantau. Anybody here seen it? I’ve heard some good things about it.
Reign of Assassins was probably the last really awesome kungfu flick I’ve seen. If you haven’t seen it, find a bootleg store/internet site that’s got it and enjoy. The fights are great.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
I’m immensely looking forward to Kungfu Panda 2 and The Legend of Chen Zhen/Legend of the Fist:Return of Chen Zhen.
No shit? It’s already out?
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
I haven’t even heard they were making another one.
yeah i saw Flash Point. i liked it. i didn’t like Ip Man that much though. i don’t like wire fighting unless it’s in a fantasy setting like CT, HD (the best use of wires in a movie i’ve ever seen).
Raging Phoenix let me down in that aspect as well. i know JeeJa uses wires in her movies, but unlike Chocolate it looked completely ridiculous when she was fighting the bodybuilder chick. Ong Bak 3 was…:shake: the only part i liked was at the end when Tony was going elephant style all over those goons stomping around like a jackass
i’ll check out SPL next.
hells yeah!!!
its hard to find any music or clips from any versions of the the show, cause of copyright. here’s the 83 ROCH theme song:

In all honesty its not even called Ip Man 3. Its actually called Ip Man: The Beginning or something like that. Honestly i wasn’t feelin it as much as i wanted to. It’d be harsh of me to say it was crap but the reality is the movie didn’t do much for me like Ip man 1 and 2 did.
Legend of Chen Zhen is the shit and definitely quality stuff. You won’t be disappointed.
My Favorite Venom?
Ya’ll already got me with your answers. It’s a tie between both of those guys. Especially since they both go so hard in The Kid with the Golden arms. I can’t take Pai Wei seriously because of how much of a useless dick he was in that flick.
Oh shit, that was the other one I was forgetting. Where the fuck have YOU been son?
Anyway. Here it is
Probably gonna throw some Jackie Chan up next.
Jet Li does his Donovan impression.

Phillip Kwok was just too bad ass, he still had his awesomeness in Hard Boiled!
Another Venom i enjoyed so much is Alexander Fu Sheng…Poor bastard had to die so young, he was like the the good looking Jackie Chan haha…The Avenging Eagles is fucking amazing movie w/ him & Ti Lung, you fools need to check that out!
