Another Venom i enjoyed so much is Alexander Fu Sheng…Poor bastard had to die so young, he was like the the good looking Jackie Chan haha…The Avenging Eagles is fucking amazing movie w/ him & Ti Lung, you fools need to check that out!

Never saw the avenging eagles. But speaking of avengers, I was trying for the longest time to remember this one chinese movie i also watched as a kid, also disturbing, that was about a bunch of dudes that had been disabled by a bad guy. One was a kung fu master who was outraged by these injustices and tried to take vengeance alone, only to get badly beat up, have his head put in a vice and turned into a retard. only yesterday did i figure out it was called Crippled Avengers, and of course its by the Shaw Brothers because they make disturbing movies, and of course it stars the venoms.

Worst part about that movie is how they celebrate victory at the end, completely ignoring the corpse of their retard friend, who of course sacrificed himself to save them.

edit: the more i think about it, maybe the reason im such a sociopath today is because i watched all these gruesome kung fu movies as a kid that involve good guys getting butchered and killed. chinese shows don’t fuck around with this shit, they’re not afraid to just brutally kill off main characters like its nothing. like in Shaw Brothers The Heroic Ones, where dude gets drawn and quartered. wtf

Got done watching it, i really cant recommend the film. No memorable fights & the action is very little…More drama then anything else…Lots of laughable poor scenes in this film, Wu Jing is wasted again…It was like watching the 90s kung fu stuff but without the cool fights…

• That was pretty good. Especially the the last fight between the cop and the villain. For anyone who’s into old-school Shaw Bros and Jet Li, Martial Arts of Shaolin is amazing. Compared to what Jet is now(…) in his American stuff, it’s quite good for his second flick. The Shaolin Temple always has a place in my heart. The random katas was just mad strange, though. I know Jet Li can fight, but to throw that training stuff in the middle of the movie there?

• I loved Huang in SPL. Reminded me of his Brothers Trio days(Jackie Chan, Sammo Huang, and Yuen Bao), but more crazier.

• just saw that Yen Suplex… wtf?! I had to see that twice.

• any place online where one could acquire VCDs? Not bootlegs. I’m talking about VCDs.

Jet Li at his best has got to be Shaolin Temple series…

SPL - Sammo was ok but really though, his older films blows that away…Pedicab Driver, Magnificent Butcher, Pantyhose Hero, Eastern Condors, Encounters of the Spooky Kind, etc…

angelpalm - Nah it wasn’t even a chick film…I was expecting something else, i didn’t even know that this was Andy Lau flick, i thought it was Wu Jing…

Dont get me wrong, it has a good story to it but the execution & editing killed the film. Also the last part of the film was cut from the screener so not really sure what happens but you kinda already dont care at that point. Movie wasn’t subtle at all on what they were trying to convey to audience spiritually…Jackie’s role seem out of place too…

The acting was good w/ some nice cinematography to it…The bad guys were bad even the evil white foreigners haha…
