You really think people wont like Warriors Two & Prodigal Son? Its almost like in most people’s top 10 Kung Fu list…Also Wing Chun is probably Michelle Yeoh’s best film…It was ok for me too much wire-fu but that was the craze at the time…
Tizoc, Best of the Best

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like Ip Man and recent martial arts movies are bringing in new fans who aren’t down with the classic choreography. I try to temper expectations as much as possible, especially if you are looking for 100% wing chun fights. I know Prodigal Son ended with a bunch of flying kicks lol.
Best of the Best…lol how many of those did they make? Didn’t they have one with the guy from Step by Step?
No it wasn’t, why do you think there were no more movies starring the trio? It wasn’t because they all had a busy schedule. The situation with Once Upon a Time in China and America just served to exacerbate the bad blood and further damage their once seemingly irrevocable friendship.
Regardless of the liberties taken with the Wing Chun style, it’s considered one of the best Wing Chun and one of the best martial arts movies of all time.
Uh dude, if they had such beef why did Sammo & Jackie do Island of Fire, then Thunderbolt, then Mr. Nice Guy…Its only until OUTICA that they completely stop doing movies…I dont think they have done a movie since 1997…That’s 14 years…
There’s also an old school film with Jhoon Rhee & Angela Mao called When Taekwondo Strikes…Its way old school though…But hey its Angela Mao, i can watch her water the grass & be fucking amazing!
jhoon rhee is the fuckin man…without him you wouldnt have the dude who was rinzler in tron lol. i personally owe alot to that dude even if we never met.
The one Jet Li stared in was early 80s…This is Jet li at his best is the Shaolin Temple series, no wires no speedups no stunt doubles just pure awesomeness…I strongly suggest you watch all 3…Check out part 2 Kids of Shaolin, Jet Li’s first wife was in that…She’s cutie & can kick ass! But 1 is the best overall…
Oh I rewatched Drunken Master 1 last night and the fights were pretty good. One of the attacks Jackie does in his rematch with the bojitsu fighter is used by Cheng fu in the Double Dragon fighting game on the Neo Geo.
EDIT: OH now I remember: Reading online it seems that the first Dragon Inn movie from the 69 is more favoured over the one from the 80s (New Dragon Inn). I wouldn’t mind watching both, but could someone elaborate on the differences between the movies?
Never watched the old one but watched the 92 version of Dragons Inn…Stars Bridgette Lin, Tony Leung, & Maggie Cheung…Also Donnie Yen was the main baddy in this one…This is really cool film w/ nice mood to it…I believe Tsui Hark directed this if im not mistaken…Probably the best sword flick film in new wave era (90s)
They remaking this again with Jet Li in 3D w/ Tsui Hark directing…
TOM YOM GOONG 2 aka THE PROTECTOR OF ELEPHANTS 2 starring JAA and JEEJA YANJIN! not to mention Dan Chupong of Born to fight and Panna Rittikrai and his crazy stunt team.
This is quite possibly the most exciting news i’ve heard for a martial arts movie in a very long time and there was promo art for it in May.
Wow Drunken Master 2 had some of the BEST drunken boxing fights I’ve seen, SO FRIGGIN’ GOOD. The stunts in that movie were too much, surprised Jackie didn’t suffer a lot from them.
I was looking on Google about the 8 Immortals of drunken boxing and came upon a website that had a good insight on them- http://www.drunkenboxing.s5.com/
Got some questions BTW-
1- What Lucky Stars movies are worth watching?
2- What are good Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung movies?
Ah yes, Best of the Best. One of my favorite martial arts movie. That movie spotlighted TKD and I went to one of Jhoon Rhee schools as a teen. But who remember’s The Perfect Weapon?
Yeah I was wondering why they put that song in the movie. I always thought that song was dumb. Some things from the 90’s. :shake: SInce we are having an hurricane, I mind as well catch up on some martial arts movies that I got. Anyone seen or heard of this movie called Red Eagle?
