No you can’t like NGBC is randomly generated. Also so that means you will never go to the console specific stages.
k been playing quite some xi recently… n i’m tired of using tizoc in my team… while some of the stuff he has can be useful …i feel most times he is very gimmicky… and some of his match-ups r totally not in his favor…
so thinking of making my new team Clark, Ralf & Maxima… maxima seems a lot better and his bunker buster is too much fun… one cool link i found with him is aside from the corner if u connect a D bunker buster, u can link a B bunker buster afterwards… ok so it’s pointless but it just looks cool done at mid screen… and if u do take them to the corner u know what to do …bunker buster marathon… lol…
but who should i make my leader in that team? my guess is Clark or Ralf… i currently use Clark as my leader cause he is my strongest character… but i was thinking maybe Ralf? cause i can hit confirm easily with Clark or Maxima then tag in Ralf for like 80-90%… Maxima i feel is too strong as he is and his LDM sucks for damage scaling…
I picked up this game only recently because I honestly never got the tagging down. Now that I have, I really am enjoying this game to death. I need to do more study overall, but what I really want to know is how to use Ralf. Based on my fooling around, tagging him in for some C/D 2-in-1 -> gatling attack XX super XX leader is like instant death .
I guess I should really focus on hyper hops and stuff at the moment, however.
Like it was mentioned earlier…hyper hops are definitely a crucial part in advancing your game play. At first the concept behind doing it makes it seem hard to do consistently, but once you get the rhythm it’ll be like second nature.
As far as Ralf goes…very easy to learn. C button i ridiculous. Crouching C, into DP, to jumping dive punch is a staple combo.
Crouching C and standing C have great priority. His E is also good…His command grab has super armor…and that weird spin kick he has…Its got some invincibility that are a bitch to deal with sometimes…I could go on…but he’s definitely a great character to have on your squad
maxima’s vapor canon cancel lets him do hcf+D from like a hop distance away… and do his grab DM from almost max range of a far s.C…!!!
just amazed as how far the DM reaches… well besides that i wanted to know if his LDM is any good? like better than ralf or clark? i know it does good damage on its own but after quick shift combo the damage scaling on it makes it pretty shitty imo… any other good uses for it?
I couldn’t tell you as I dont know too much about Maxima but I could do some research become I’m coming up with some new ideas with things…
Only a few strategical uses I can come up with for Maxima’s LDM
Maxima’s close D makes for a great anti-air if they are jumping close enough. If you see a high jump in, get out a fast close D and quickly cancel to LDM, 1 of 2 things should occur: a.) They are still in the air and they are hit with a counterhit, b.) They are still in the air and it counts as a normal hit
The laser itself is an Ultimate Juggle, and in almost all cases will it juggle from an AA close D.
The LDM combos from just about any jump in hard attack (at regular jump height)
Maxima’s cr.C has an ok exploitable amount of autoguard frames, if at any point can you see a hard attack coming on the ground (or air in some cases) it can be free BnB or LDM. It has AA potential, but is highly not recommended for it’s riskyness and how predictable it becomes with constant use.
well i’m trying to take the game up seriously and play smart… and i refuse to use non-grapplers… so my options r pretty limited… and clark has to be on my team or else! lol… and it’s really hard to give him up as leader… but i figure ralf as leader can be very effective as leader since both maxima and clark are good for hit confirming into a quick shift…
the_judge: thanks for the tips… i’ll try them out… but i was wondering if u cancel cr.B into f.A won’t that take away the overhead property of that move?
DG: k i’ll wait to see what ur findings r… but u have to try that vapor canon cancel into DM… i think it’s like the farthest reaching kara DM i’ve ever seen…
Shiki, I never said it wasn’t.
In anycase, I was reviewing some stuff and training mode and I was practicing my fast hops…that’s where the confusion came from. You all call them “Hyper hops”; according to the movelist/FAQ I was using they were referred to as fast hops (df/db ~ tap uf/ub) so I knew about them. For a time I was actually thinking you all were referring to a third type of hop.
In anycase, yeah I’m working on it and some simple bnb from everyone. My main beef with it is ‘tapping’ the uf/ub to get a fast hop rather than a super jump - I hate that. In anycase I guess some practice will do to fix that.
y do u tap? its a lot easier if u do it like:qcf::uf::d: do a TK motion… to practice this motion specifically pick Kyo and do his hyper hop d+C… both from back and forward jumps… then after u get it down just leave out the C input… and there is ur perfect hyper hop every time… until u r comfortable with the timing of letting go :uf: add the :d: to make sure u get a hyper hop… once u get used to it u wont need to add the down… just swing ur joystick …its pretty easy… and for a super jump necessary if u r playing Iori and his stupid cross-up shenanigans just hold the :uf:… hope that helps… :china:
My bad for not making it clear. I was using cr.B’s maximum hit range as a distance marker you could use for f+A, not the actual cancel. That’s usually how I remember the distance of moves.
After doing some studying with Max (I had totally forgotten about him) I want to call f+A very unsafe on block (maybe not max distance, but I still wouldn’t risk it), I apologize but disregard my last post on the f+A stuff.
anytime Ralf hits with a cr.C xx Unblock or Super Volcan Punch certain characters can connect their LDM afterwards… kula, k’, oswald, shen, kim, shingo, king, malin, benimaru, kensou but some of them r situational… for kula, k’, shingo, kim, malin, kensou & benimaru …they can be done anywhere… oswald’s does the most damage but only possible from the DM… shen’s is the most scariest but only possible at corner…
however only character that can connect a dm afterwards is silber… he can connect his kick super for like over 50%…
you’d be surprised at how many characters can do that.
ya i realised… i just got exited at how it took no meter…
anyway my friend has been using silber a lot against me… and some of the stuff he has is just nuts… i’ve messing around with him in practice mode and him with meter is absolutely disgusting…
cross-up or just jump C, qcfx2.D…
anti-air jump C, qcfx2.D…
charge d~u.B_D xx qcfx2.D…
counter hit E, qcf~hcb.A…
(cr.B x2 …to charge) cr.A xx LDM…
counter hit f.A lets u either combo
a) jump C, qcfx2.D for 50%
b) charge d~u.B xx qcfx2.D for 60%
c) qcf~hcb.A xx LDM for 80%…
Damn you DG. lol
I am starting to play XI again and this time taking it very serious. So now I am making a new team and gonna work on it until I get things up to speed. Once that is done I’m coming for you my friend.
Well we just may add it to LVL (Las vegas Locals)…
i’ve pretty much stopped playing any other fighters to get myself deeply into xi… hell i haven’t even bought T6 yet cause of this…
Whats the KOFXI Scene like in Toronto? Whats the KOF scene like in Toronto? Im thinking about possibly doing an SNK Major in Toronto depending on the level of interest…
I’ll record match vids for you to comment/criticize on when I get back to GA.
KOF was the one game Mike and Ka pwned me at, all the time. But now its time to start recording match vids and show off what’s been going on in training mode…:wonder:
When do you go back to GA?
