Hulk players need to abuse s.M and AA Gama charge more, s.H aint cutting it…
to be honest s.M doesn’t cut it either because most characters can throw out lows and duck right under it just letting you get dominated
i’ve been trying to use m more than h but sadly in the corner for whatever reason if somebody IS pressing a button off a gamma charge LH they’re too low and i wiff =( but in that circumstance h is actually pretty good… m is definitely better for a lot of occasions - but i dont like how short most characters are. lol
Yeah tonight i was going to test crouching characters that can make s.M whiff. I think if they hit you low while your doing s.M you can cancel into a AA gama charge and use the super armor in that too and catch them. Il be testing it tonight. (if that does work, then hulk will be scary as fuggg)
Honestly, I hate st.M. It whiffs on half the cast like Dorm’s cr.M. St.H cuts it, especially since you can cancel it into gamma charge to punish your opponent’s punish attempts. Throwing it out constantly and mindlessly will get you killed though.
Amen at the AA Gamma Charge though. +5 on block for free mixups? Yes please. Super armor? Delicious. Fast startup? Oh yes! Easy to hit confirm? So nice.
I think Hulk is viable in high level play, you just have to have a full team to support him. Once he kills that first character, your opponent better guess correctly on the jump in of their next character. 1mil from simple bnbs is nothing to scoff at, and DHC’ing usually kills any character instantly.
And AA Gama Charge can beat push block (my favorite thing)
The biggest problem with sH is how long it takes to get it’s armor. You just need to remember there are a few characters that you don’t want to use it on. Wolvie and Ammy(I’m sure there are others, but these are the two I consciously watch out for) are really the only two that give me problems when using sM. Someone mentioned just using the armor from sM and canceling into gamma charge AA. This can work. It’s not foolproof or anything, but if it’s timed right, you’ll absorb the first c.L, the second will whiff cuz you’re in the air, and you come down on top of them.
using the “armor” from gamma charge on purpose is a really ridiculous idea as the armor happens in taht move really late and is really really circumstantial. read circumstantial as “randomly going to work when it shouldn’t and randomly wont work when it should”

1 on 1, Ammy should be able to zone Hulk with Cold Star and run away. If Hulk gets one hit in though, it’s over. Usually Hulk will have assists to help him get in, so the matchup ends up being pretty even overall.
I don’t know why everone insists that Hulk beats Wolverine. 99% of the time, Wolverine has assists to help him mixup, and there’s not much Hulk can do. Here’s a common scenario. Wolv calls Sent drones assist and superjumps. If you try to punish the drones with Gamma Wave or Gamma Tsunami, Wolverine will punish with divekick. So Hulk is forced to block or superjump, both of which leave him at a disadvantage.
If 1 touch is the only requirement for matchup advantage, then Hulk would have matchup advantage against anyone. If you have almost any OTG assist and a decent DHC behind Hulk, you should be able to kill almost every character with one combo, no matter where you are when you hit them.
Wolvie is one of hulks worst matchups i think. alot of his moves are safe on block since we dont have fast normals to punish.
I am confident with Hulk against Amaterasu I like to swing with H against Wolverine especially if he’s coming down with his kick, swat him like a fly
I love s.. It’s great for those times where you need an anti-air, but you don’t have 6 frames to get armor for s.:h:. Additionally, knowing which match-ups it whiffs against is all you need to turn it from questionable move to a great one.
In the match-ups in which it won’t whiff, it’s like giving Hulk’s best attack a huge speed boost. In match-ups in which it whiffs, you’re getting a fast anti-air and a great bait & punish. I open Magneto, Wolverine, and Ammy all the time by intentionally whiffing and immediately cancelling into Gamma Charge Anti Air. No need to really delay the GCAA because people will see that the s. clearly misses and then press a button on reaction. Because the Gamma Charge has 5 frame startup, it’s extremely unlikely that an opponent is going to get a successful punish in on reaction.
Just been wondering this for a while from my fellow Gamma Gamers. Which color Hulk do you usually use when fighting? Green, Grey or Red?
And does it depend on the team you’re using?
Red Hulk. I’m starting to be more accepting of green Hulk, but I think red Hulk is just scarier. No, I change the rest of my team’s colors to make the red work, not the other way around.
I’m all about they grey Hulk. He’s the smartest one by a long shot.

Yea he is. Played against a friend for the first time the other day, a first to 5. He was using Wolverine, Dante, Sent , my team is Hulk, Akuma, Sent. I just wiped him up 5 straight, and he was a decent player. He was like wow… I’ve never really fought against a decent hulk before, 1 more game, I think I got it all worked out. 6th game I got Wolverine and his Sent assist with a s.H off the start, somehow , and turned it into a perfect. Hulk can be extremely good if used properly. Wolverine is a great character, but like my friend found out, 1 hit from hulk can result in a combo that kills Wolverine outright, with no X-Factor, and only 1 super meter.
