Just uploaded another video. Enjoy
OHHHHHHH, I knew I recognized your Handle but just didnt know where from, GOOD SHIT man, best games ive had so far, Your Thor…is so sexy man haha. And ive heard storys about Shulk, but that was my first fight with her… -_- I did horribly lol, is that a Low grabbing command grab of hers? I keot getting caught when i blocked low, if so, her mixup game is GDLK then! Either way, hope to play more sometime today.
Anyone mess with gamma throw resets any more? I’m still using :h: charge~:h: and :h: and finishers to go for gamma throw/air throw in the corner. That and just using throw after they tech in the corner after crush.
I just started doing this yesterday, I’m really loving it. Good stuff
Edit: Forgot to add, I have been covering whiffs and blocked attacks with Gamma Charge :l: (AA) and the :h: follow up. No one knows what to do against it, it’s really funny and pretty damn safe. Sometimes in the corner I even do it over and over again and after a few reps I’ll either hit with it and get a huge-ass combo or I’ll stop if they have the ability to punish it and then start on other good pressure. Ahhhh, I love the Hulk.
its not always easy to have YOUR back against the corner and get a gamma tornado, against a competent player -_-
I was talking about putting them in the corner with :h: charge~followup, then catching their tech either way with tornado.
What if they tech forward outside the corner?
This is an important point, because a lot of people (myself included) have made the mistake of creating tech traps and resets only for opponents that neutral air tech. It’s important to have a reset for every situation.
With :h: charge, followup full in the corner you can jump straight up and catch forward, back or no tech. Midscreen, you just have to jump back to airthrow, jump straight up doesn’t realign in time. You can also mix it up with s.:h:, j.:s:, or AA :h: charge if you think they might attack. AA :h: charge can cross them up too if they air tech front and you wait a bit.
The :h: charge, :l: followup always gives a hard knockdown so it’s just a matter of reading the tech then throwing in the corner. You can use or :h: buffered throw to get more range/armor frames too. Midscreen if they tech back you can just gamma wave.
Anyone have advice on the Zero matchup? He always wrecks me, he hits so fast he usually negates armor and it’s really hard to keep him off. It’s pretty scrubby, but the only thing I’ve gotten to work is pushblocking certain parts of his blockstrings then Crushing him.
I just wanted to pop in and say that so far every post command-grab combo I tried has done a little more damage without mashing the grab; mashing just adds hits/proration for very little extra damage (compared to what Hulk can normally inflict).
Edit: Hmm, nevermind, after playing around some more, it seems it actually is dependant on the combo, and what assists and DHCs you use.
Thanks to you guys for some good combo ideas and other tips, especially to Gargooletz for compiling all that stuff into video format!
Oh, and a few people were asking about who can crouch standing M…here’s the list according to the Brady Games guide:
Amaterasu, Deadpool, Hsien-Ko, Phoenix, Skrull, Wolverine, Arthur, Dormmington, Magneato, Spiderman, Trish, X23, Dante, Felicia, Morrigan, Storm, VJoe, and Zero.
And I might as well post this from the guide too…these are the characters you can dash over/through while they are crouching:
Amaterasu, Dorm, Morrigan, Skrull, Wolverine, Arthur, Felicia, Pheonix, Task, X23, Dante, Hsien-Ko, Spiderman, Trish, Zero, Deadpool, Magneato, Storm, VJoe
Cross-posted from the Spencer forums:
Hey guys, found a fun tactic. I’ve been playing around with a team of Wesker (shot)/Spencer (angle)/Hulk (charge), sometimes substituting Ammy in for Hulk. What I’ve been doing is opening by fishing for combos with Wesker, then getting a switch to Spencer (usually with an air-combo crossover) when I get a couple of levels. Doing this means that with two levels and Spencer in either first or second slot, you can on-reaction punish with a team hypercombo that will do Bionic Lancer + Maximum Wesker or Gamma Crush or Okami Shuffle (which combo together from anywhere on screen) for between 500-600k damage. Pretty useful as a deterrent against mashing for your opponent. If Spencer’s the one on point, you can also often tiger-knee an otg grappling hook at the end.
Playing against Amaterasu, Wolverine, Zero, and Dante with Hulk alone makes me think he just can’t compete without help. I think I’m going to start playing someone else on point when I see one of those guys on point for the other team It’s just not worth starting the game that far behind. Blaaaaaaah I just heart hulk so much but he’s so god damn slow
Doctor doom beam assist, Griffard.
the beam? Not rocks or missiles? Huh
Just a note: if you want to do this with She-Hulk’s torpedo assist, I find it makes it a LOT more consistent if you omit the j.:h: from the launch combo. If you leave it in, it seems that you end up landing just slightly farther away from your opponent, causing either She-Hulk’s slide to whiff just short of them, or causing her to knock them too far away.
Also, instead of finishing with dash +otg :a1:, c.:h:, :s:, j.:h:, j.:s:, dash xx tsunami when you are midscreen, you can just do Gamma Charge H while the assist hits, then cancel into Gamma Crush for more damage.
Nybb,
Even if the damage scales on the command grab when you mash it I would still go ahead and mash it for 2 reasons: 1 it builds absurd meter. 2 it slows the pace of the game down and gives you a second to decide what your follow-up is going to be.
Beam will cover the horizontal plane which will let you gamma charge in behind it. Try it.
I was thinking the same thing but Hulk can kill ammy in one combo if you nail her, for sure its a tough fight but be patient or tag out to someone more mobile on your team.
Placed top 65 using MODOK/Hulk/Sent at Final Round. Repped that Hulk and his ridiculous damage.
