A2 “Ryu vs Sagat” theme is another take on Sagat’s theme that actually fits his character, it tells all his story. https://youtu.be/GZtv8o_z0vE
I hope this stage will come back with the music in SFV since Capcom doesn’t care about non tournament stages.
I like chill music too in FG, this one from SFEX for exemple is one of my favorite in the serie. https://youtu.be/FuPaqaJpq30

While we’re at it, here’s another one. Instead of arguing about SF4, A3 and 3S music let’s all remember that EX had better music of them all. Tell me this Sakura theme isn’t perfect. [/details]
I take it on a case by case basis. There’s a place for softer songs within fights. I don’t think any fight with Ryu and Ken would need anything bombastic or aggressive as their fights tend to be sparring matches and nothing truly at stake. They say hello with a punch to the face.
Yup the only Fukasawa track I like is Laura’s. Bison/Rashid/Cammy’s have that scratching sound(if you know what it’s called, let me know) I find annoying.
Yeah man, that track just about rips and tears up everything in its path with ease. I have the soundtrack on Steam, and I’m so impatient and a little irritated that the new songs since the DLC characters and such haven’t been added to the soundtrack yet, if ever at all…
I agree that newer rap (not even really hip hop) just has an extremely commercial sound to it. It’s just music that goes down well with drinks at the club or young kids that don’t know anything different.
3S Soundtrack is GDLK though. I really like the arranged Dreamcast stuff too.
Same. Some of my favorite songs in Streets of Rage are the slower/chill beats like Slow Moon and Random Cross. Like you back behind an alley during a dramatic action scene. Jazzy NYC and Twilight are 2 of my favorite 3S songs also. Twilight really fits the mood of a ninja wandering the forest with the urban dnb/house to give it a slight edge and fit that late 90s electric music vibe.
I wish I could say the same, but it really isn’t. It misses out on that epic feeling of impending doom that the original had (dem bells) or the iconic Alpha 3’s Brave or Grave pure horror. It doesn’t even have the classy jazzy swag of his Alpha 2 theme, or invokes the evil strip club feels of Fatal Depths from Alpha 3, or the sickening rock of his EX theme (let alone his Thailicious EX 2 theme).
Out of all his themes, I’d rank it at the bottom along with the trash SF4 theme.
Ouch! I was actually a huge fan of the original vanilla SF4 theme, even with but particularly without the vocals - it reminded me so much of Michael Jackson and I believe it was produced around the same time as his passing in '09.
I think it’s such a shame that going from vanilla to Super to Ultra, they changed all the menu musics entirely, rather than shuffling them around or at least letting us do it ourselves, and same with all the gallery stuff that was in vanilla SFIV which never made it past that iteration alone…
Not feeling at all, honestly. The beginning is kinda nice, but once the famous “ta daaaaa… tadadaaaa ta-da-da-daaaaa…” begins - the theme just falls apart.
Capcom needs some balls and stop rehasing the same old themes and make new. They tried jazzy/funky style with SF Alpha 1 and 2 - while they still resed the classic themes, they DID give them some kind of a new sound which made them sound drastically different
Problem is when they tried that with SF4 - Fukasawa just turned 3/4 of the songs into a shitty EDM remix, biggest offenders for that being Ryu’s, Guile’s, Ken’s and Balrog’s themes.
Seriously, here I bring Arika yet again - they created an all-new array of themes for existing characters, and made them FUCKING AWESOME
@Fatal1ty_93_RUS The cover does indeed fall apart, but I’d take it over the microwave moaning of the SF5 theme.
Completely and utterly agree on all the music you posted. EX’s music has melodies that are on another level. Up there with the original SF2 IMO and that’s saying something because no other game in the series is up there with SF2.
