Yep been saying this for forever now. Sick and tired of these damn SF2 remixes they keep doing. So uncreative. They went so far as to drastically change some old characters’ movesets and gameplay, but they can’t do the same for their themes? Yeah I’ll just stick to the old CPS1/2 SF2 themes…
Say what you will about Alpha 3 but when you hear a song from Alpha 3 you fucking know for sure that it’s Alpha 3.
Some people on that sound team really cared and not only created a musical style I can only classify as “Alpha 3” but they made original themes for every character.
funny thing is that the song is not even truly brazilian. If you show that in their Country they simply won’t recognize it. It’s like those fake oriental songs from 80’s movies.
Btw, nothing is more generic than generic synth.

TTT2 had custom music, I hope they let you do this in SFV.
Anyway I think best boss music still belongs to Akuma’s theme from Super Turbo. No other boss music captures that “fight for your life” feeling that this music evokes for me.

Damn, that first song is my new jam, obligatory “Samba” B)
by Ryu’s theme I meant his SF2 song, since they always come back to it. I’m a big fan of a lot of the A3 soundtrack

I’d rather have new themes, but I enjoy me a solid remix. I like Ryu’s SFV theme and I also thought this wasn’t too bad

I think it’s pretty decent! they definitely didn’t do the dumb thing that so many other arrangements have tried to do w having the lead melody pounding as guitar. I feel kinda whatever about the strings. so overall when I hear something like that ver, I’d just rather hear the original. it’s not doing anything vastly different and so I’m eh about it.
honestly in SFIV, the only classic remix thing that I think was good was Guile’s! it was really weird and very different from his original w a noisey, industrial electronic sound. I think it tried to be something unique and mostly succeeded. I’d like that for SFV music too.

I guess this wasn’t an honest example on my part only because Sakurai can get pretty much whomever he wants to compose for a Smash game and each game has more than one person working the soundtack, so the songs can be as good they need to be.
Would anybody be open to the idea of having multiple people work on the SFV soundtrack or would potential conflicting styles be an issue? Because I’d love stuff like this (a sound we pretty much got for Vega’s theme): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ItRSs983ws
All trailer’s songs are not in the game. Their advertising team did something apart and chose songs without any relation with Capcom or the game. Which means much already…
you know what id like to see come back? weather stages like the Snow stage in EX2 or the Grass stage from alpha the water forest from EX, some of the stages back then had themes that fit the stage
