I wanted to say that it’s more a remix than Karin’s theme, pure wasn’t the good word and I didn’t understand your post. Should have read it twice.
My english class is tomorrow, sorry !
I have to say I am slightly disappointed with Mika’s and Rashid’s themes, I was expecting much more (All the other characters except Cammy had fantastic ones) I doubt they will rework them so I hope the other characters have better themes. I also hope they stop using this electronic type of music because it sounds lazy and cheap imo
Wow, Rashid’s theme is a HUGE disappointment and a highly missed opportunity. I expected to hear a clear middle-eastern motive in this tune, only to find what killed the Street Fighter IV’s OST - an oversaturation of generic techno/electro beats
Hell, NAMCO can create a better theme while having a decent beat in Tekken 7:
HOW FUCKING HARD CAN IT BE!? How can it be, that Namco, who completely switched to eletro tunes in the series since Tekken 6 and actually started slowly phasing out instrumental melodies back in Tekken 5 released 10 years ago? HOW!?
How is it that Capcom could work with the Middle-Eastern community to create Rashid himself, but seemingly did no research music-wise to create an amazing appropriate tune!? Shit, it’s like you have to put up “Arabian Nights” from Alladdin or something yourself
Mika’s theme is okay though, not the best theme in the world, but it’ll do for me. Of course I’d rather have Capcom have an entirely different composer for this game. Hope Fukasawa doesn’t get his hands on Street Fighter VI. Here’s hoping SNK dies out after the commercial failure of KOF XIV and Capcom hires the composers from the KOF team, at least those guys know what the fuck they are doing
Sad…just…sad. Mika’s theme, Prismatic Stars (one of the best, and “hype” themes from Alpha 3) gets destroyed for SFV. I’m about to chalk this soundtrack the way SF4 turned out – a few gems here and there, but most are just bad. Sure, SFV’s soundtrack seems better produced overall, but that ain’t enough.
I do see myself only having the game configured to play stage themes instead of character themes again. Those are more tolerable, but not by much. (sigh)
Thank goodness none of you have any say in this game’s soundtrack. You people on here are acting like music ain’t subjective.
Anyway, Mika’s theme is alright so far and I like what I heard for Rashid. Can’t say much else because these are snippets. Seriously, you niggas jump to conclusions so easily that I’m ready to vote y’all in for the 2016 Dunk Off.
To the guy who posted the T7 arab stage, that’s actually my fave soundtrack on that game currently, T7 soundtrack isn’t even on par with previous Tekken games, but the composers can still come out with good music, and what’s most impressive is that every composition is new. Capcom has it lucky they can just recycle the exact same songs for years and years and people don’t even mind…
As for the Mika and Rashid themes, meh to both. Rashid’s isn’t as inspired as I’d hoped, Mika’s is just another remix, I was hoping for at least a retouch like they gave with Karin, who easily has the best theme in this game. Well I’m not going to cut my wrists over the fact that there’s some music in the game I dislike… I’ll be listening to stage themes mostly anyway, and a lot of the stage themes are good.
Oh and lol @ people going for personal attacks based on someone else’s music tastes. I don’t even think words can describe how sad that is.
Well Rashid’s theme is certainly going to be polarizing. I doubt anyone that hated most of SF4’s soundtrack is going to appreciate that one.
Though I have no idea what the problem people have with Mika’s is, my only problem with it is that they left that terrible SFA3 motif in there, but at least they got it to fit somehow and it doesn’t get nearly as repetitive.
Which is a pity. Rashid’s theme seems to combine a middle-eastern sound with some modern drum and bass and it sounds good to me. I know people that detest anything remotely electronic will brush it off and refer to it as “wub”, but Cammy, Bison and Rashid’s theme all approach electronic music differently. Rashid’s theme (so far) sounds like it’ll be better than either of those themes, though.
As for Mika, I like what’s there so far, but I’m also not severly attached to her Alpha 3 theme. Wouldn’t complain if she got the Karin treatment here, but I’ll reserve judgement until I hear the whole thing.
