The music is (barely) passable (Music Discussion Thread)

I hope they make a new theme for her. The A3 themes are a much different style than A2/SF2. If you were to mix her A3 theme into SF5, it wouldn’t sound right imo.

Into the trash it goes.

Her Alpha 3 theme is just so amazing. I mean seriously.

I don’t like her A3 theme but honestly I always preferred the A2 themes in general.

SFIV’s music are mixed opinion for me: Some of them are forgettable like for instance Volcanic Rim, etc. but at the same time tracks like Morning Mist Bay, Rufus / Juri theme etc. are very nice. The remixed stage ones that were originally in SFxT are superior in USFIV. SFxT’s soundtrack is one of the worst I’ve ever heard, unfortunately.

Some of the remixes are better in IV, like Dhalsim’s, Cammy’s and Gen’s, some are equal (Sakura and Sagat for instance) and some are worse (Dee Jay, T.Hawk, Vega and Guile) though they are not bad themselves.

I was under the assumption that Volcanic Rim was memorable for everyone, good or bad.

The bolded tracks are pretty fun, though. Especially Rufus’ theme.

Uh-huh, especially the infinite guitar solo closer to end of the round

Music in SFV suck ass and forgettable . Only reveal trailer music are more epic

They need to bring back half-pipe stage music.

My favorite themes in SF4 were: Cammy, C Viper, Vega, Juri, Ken, Chun Li, Rose, Decapre.

I wish they would go in a totally new direction like they did for Alpha 3.

Actually just use that Alpha 3 style, it was so weird but I loved it.

Gotta say, SFV has possibly the best soundtrack so far on all Street Fighters, after the disaster that was SFIV, I’m glad to see Capcom making good themes, so far my favorites are Character Select, Ken’s theme and Bustling Side Street’s theme.

for a clown to listen to, at the circus.

Love Bustling Side Street, love Forgotten Waterfall round 1, love Character Select screen. Music is already more memorable to me than SF4.

And, the complaint that Kanzuki theme sounds like a Soul Calibur theme is a bullsh*t complaint. So what.
This is a new SF game, which is clearly going for a more immersive, cinematic approach to the music. The biggest problem with this game in all departments is that people refuse to view it as its own game.

I’m all for immersive and cinematic. I think I’ve expressed my love for the main menu theme more than anyone. I get neither “immersive” nor “cinematic” from the training stage theme, though.

A lot of complaints are valid as well. Comparisons will be made, especially if we’re still getting remixes for character themes.

say what you want about Koei , they sure as hell know how to make awesome music. warrior games might be all hack and slash but the music in them is awesome.

Not sure if serious or…

Even SF2? The most iconic hands down? The one FILLED with themes we still hum to ourselves? The one that Capcom and other companies keep remixing for new games even today?

meanwhile SF2 composer Yoko Shimomura is producing music like this.

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto OST

While I can still recognize Fukasawa’s sound here, this shit is miles ahead of SFIV’s OST. What the hell happened?
