Again, it’s all subjective. I think the A3 character select theme is trash and I do like the new theme for V. I’ve studied music for years as a hobby and I know composition and I can elaborate on what makes the A3 soundtrack garbage, yet that won’t change your opinion or the fact that you like it, will it? I think we should all really agree to having different opinions here. Arguing about what track is better or not is just foolish.
Alpha 2 is one of the best, on par with ST for me, maybe even better. It fit the game speed and the semi-cartoony style. Alpha 3 I simply can’t stand because of the monotony of it. I would hope that the quality of V rivaled that of 3S, ST or A2 but the genre seems to have been switched again, now being more of a 50/50 between electronic sounds and live recordings(where SFIV was all electronic). We’ll get no less than 12 stages so we just have to wait and see, plus I’m sure we will get character remixes again.
That select theme isn’t that bad, I’m fine with it. It has the feeling of old school SF music, as opposed to what was featured in SF4. I hated that whole soundtrack minus Cammy’s theme, Abel’s theme, and the Cosmic Elevator theme. The rest of it was just forgettable.
I’d like something that borrows from ST, 3S, and the Alphas.
I actually like the select screen music quite a bit, but I would like to get clearer sample of the china stage and London. I can’t really remember the China stage since most of the footage I’ve seen of it has commentary.
I have heard it. It sounds almost identical to the original, except for the addition of the flutes (?). The Alpha1/2 CS music is like the most Street Fighter CS music after ST.
Yeah, I just got a good listen to the character select music a sec ago after the single elim tourney stream, and it’s actually decent. Not really disappointed with that one at all. I may change my mind on this, but the 2 stage tracks are kinda growing on me (from what I can hear). No, not saying they’re great, but they aren’t horrible either. Still, I think they just fall in the “passable” category for now, but I do think the London stage is the better of the 2. However, this:
