I have very little to no expectations for this movie to be amazing. It has lots of things against it such as being a video game movie and having a shitty first movie start. I don’t expect this move to be stellar, but what the fuck do you expect?
I am going to watch it anyway. I am an SF fan since World Warrior, and will take enjoyment (as little as it may be) somehow before I leave the theater. Enjoy it for what it is.
I usually agree with you. Not this time however lol. I just can’t let them put a wall street Bison in a sf movie, and get my wallet. At least Raul Julia had the hilarious, Christopher Walken I’m serious but still funny swagger in which the Dictator from the games actually had. So as soon as this comes out I’m getting my pirate on. I’m not saying it’ll be bad.
But I just won’t risk me being dissapointed. As long as they play the characters as they are supposed to be I’ll forgive them for not getting their looks right. Gen better do some ruthless killings, Bison better have a clone or something that moves into the sequel…with his goddamn shadoloo cap, Chun-Li should take her clothes off as soon as the movie starts, and Taboo as Vega was a decent choice…you think he’ll save the movie?

Well the"Weak Pathetic Body"certainly is confusing…she is a women afterall so I’d kind of expect her to be built like one lol. Anyhow, the movie comes off as a generic MA movie to be honest. Although as long as the fight’s deliver and the story makes for something interesting then the film has potential, as it stands I’ll have to see it first before I pass judgment.

If this movie wasn’t associated with SF, would anyone here really care (besides people who want to beat off to this Kruek chick)? No, it’s not glaringly bad, but I’ll probably continue to react with disdain because it’ll continue to be crammed down my throat because I play SF.
Wouldn’t they just beat off to her on google serach images anyways, doubt the movie would get any interest of Chun wasn’t in it. Although I wonder what is up with these studio’s thinking wire fu is the only way to do a good MA movie…

Why is it centered around Chun li? I see a Ryu/Ken/Akuma love triangle having a better plot.

They have boring stories. They train. they Split. Akuma kills Gouken. Ryu and Ken get mad.
Chun is automatically more interesting because she’s a cop.

Another thing…I don’t think people have realized it, but Chun-Li has totally yanked Ken’s position in the top 2 as far as Street Fighter characters are concerned. Since SF3:SI, he’s really taken a back seat to Chun Li and it shows in the games released since then.
Face it people, Chun Li is a main character. And, behind Ryu, she’s the next character deserving of her own movie.
Heck, you might even argue that she’s now on the same level as Ryu. Both are the main protagonists in their respective storylines: Ryu = SnH storyline, Chun = Shadowloo storyline.
There is no one who will recognize one but not the other.
Not really…only about half of SF is concerned with street fighting (SnH storyline). The other half is about crime, terrorism, military combat, and world domination (Shadowloo storyline).
So, it should be no big surprise to see crime, terrorism, military combat, and world domination in a SF movie.

Well, I think they’re trying to take a bit more realistic approach to the storyline so that more audiences can get into it. I mean, fans like us would really dig the over-the-top, RGB-red suit wearing, cape flowing, super-huge-SF4-grin Bison that we’re used to. But, in live action all that might degenerate into the ridiculous cartoon characters from the first movie…
