Damn that knee sent Cro Cop on the sidelines til next April.
Still some money to be made with Crocop.
I know the guy is great, but I can’t pay to watch this dude fight anymore, at least not at 170. It’s clear nobody in that weight class is at GSP’s level and they haven’t been in years now. Way past time to move up to 185 and get that big $$$ vs A. Silva. I no longer buy PPVs that GSP is the main draw for because I already know what will happen. I won’t buy GSP vs Shields unless it’s on a monster card. This guy is not 1980’s Mike Tyson where you can pay to see what would likely be a spectacular finish. I think Dana understands that. Plus I’m sure at least some fanboy part of him wants to see what happens between GSP and A. Silva. I really hope things start moving soon towards this matchup.
lol I had no idea Sherk got suspended aswell
I always thought that if GSP vs Silva were to happen, it should happen at a catchweight of 180lbs.
Fair enough on Floyd, but I still get the impression that he’d catch less flak for fighting that way if he wasn’t such a douchebag. Any talk of him doing it to hype fights goes out the window every time his dumbass gets into more legal trouble, too. At this point, as much as people respect his skill, they just want to see him lose. Pacquiao was probably the better example, he busts up Marg’s eye and it’s a dominating performance. GSP busts up Koscheck’s eye and he’s playing it safe. Marg even had his moments against Pac, pushing him to the ropes and landing some body shots. Kos had absolutely no answers for that matchup. Obviously the two sports are different, but that goes for any argument involving the two.
Too much emphasis is placed on winning by a flashy KO. The man made a top 3-5 fighter in his weight class look completely fucking useless for an entire fight, I don’t think he deserves all that much hate.
ROFL at Dana. Ubereem would murder any of those guys.
I really hope Overreem faces Werdum and loses…again.
that gift of gab sure puts a lot of money into his pockets though. same way UFC put 500,000 into james toney’s for his shit talking 1:30 second fight. Toney lost this side show fight terribly and still made more than Couture…Recklessss
cro cop vs pat barry 2.
anyway, like i’ve said all along. Gsp is going to beat A Silva. That’s if silva gets past belfort, i could see him getting put to sleep.
BUt again, this match up is going to get wreaked just like any match up vs fedor got wreaked. They took to long to do it and one of them is going to lose before it happens. And i don’t see it being gsp vs sheilds.
But since Silva is a weight class up it won’t matter if he loses will it? If he drops back down he’ll just continue to beast on everyone as par usual =/
that makes zero sense considering he’s never gotten into legal trouble for doing anything to another fighter. the UFC’s whole pre-fight hype game now is based off of floyd. dana has his guys trying to talk shit in interviews, post-fight he has the next challenger come in for extra shit talk, the whole 24/7 rip-off that his UFC countdown…dana needs to start cutting PBF royalty checks.
on another note, as far as okami goes, dana’s in charge of the rankings and who’s the #1 contender so it’s pretty bullshit that he’s not giving his contenders the shot. the UFC isn’t in danger of collapsing after a supposedly boring card and considering all of the WEC guys that just arrived there shouldn’t be a boring card for a good while unless they start trying to consistently throw bi-monthly events or something.
He’s fighting Belfort at 185, so if he ends up losing the middleweight title in the process it kinda nullifies his contention for #1 pound for pound status. In that case the GSP vs Silva matchup loses a lot of hype.
The fact that Belfort hasnt fought in over a year makes me wonder if he’s even ready for Silva. Not to sound like Silva is gonna steamroll him but I just wish he had another fight before this one.
the belfort fight is stupid imo. what has belfort done to deserve a shot? oh he beat wanderlei…10 years ago, great.
And dont forget he faceplanted Rich “The Gatekeeper” Franklin.
he beat rich who was higher up on the food chain. rich had at the time only lost to top ten guys dan and silva.
maybe…maybe not but people talk about vitor for a reason…thus in dana’s world…=$$$$$
lol how the mighty have fallen…
Just saw the whole main card and damn I felt sorry for Kos halfway through, that eye was pretty bad.
And props to Jim Miller for shutting down the hype train
