Georges DID try to finish Dan twice with two subs. A North/South Kimura attempt, which Dan refused to tap. And an armbar, but he didn’t pinch his knees together, leaving too much space for Dan to keep rolling out over and over to relieve pressure off of his elbow. It’s a common mistake in Jiu-Jitsu, especially w/ adrenaline running through your system.
After the match was over, he even went back to his locker room, imitated what he did to Hardy to his practice partner on the mat and asked his Instructor “what did I do wrong?”.
As far as the other bouts where he “coasted” his way to a decision victory, well I have no counter argument for those

As for the sherdog comparisons, it’s easy when you fly off the handle and twist words into something you can argue against. Case in point: coming at Rock saying he’s stupid and wrong because Kos’s career wasn’t ended - Rock didn’t say it was ended, he said it was nearly career-ending, and then he backed it up with evidence about how bad Kos was hurt (the second picture was Kos’s orbital bone I believe.)

If you notice I only insult Rock when he does it first I always TRY to be nice to people and respect their opinions but no I’m not gonna let someone insult my intelligence like he does with things that have nothing to do with the point.
The whole point was GSP not fighting at his full ability, him admitting so and me saying there is some valid reason behind people turning on him. Rock bringing up KOS being hurt in the fight had nothing to do with my point that people are tired of GSP playing on his point leads.

I didn’t know this wow, but it’s his own fault really. If GSP had used just a little bit of GnP he could have easily finished Hardy with a sub imo.
GSP should have better knowledge of his abilities or a better corner to tell him to try something else then because I fighter of his caliber looks foolish going to a decision with a guy lucky to still be employed.
I know many who are very smart who share my opinion that him having the fight exactly where he wanted for about 20 minutes but not able to finish off a fighter of far far inferior caliber where guys like Chris Lytle and NBK ( who I think is a top 5 WW but others do not) beat him and make it look easy does not look good for him.
When you have guys like Jon Jones finishing more well rounded opponents recently in Shogun and Rampage, Jose Aldo quickly establishing his dominance and gaining more fans, and Anderson having a longer title reign with some legendary fights in that reign he’s going to be held to a higher standard as all champion are.
JJ get criticized when ever he opens his mouth and Anderson does what people prasied Big Nog for against Sonnen and gets nothing but more haters and people calling him not a champion. It’s easy to see why more and more people are rolling their eyes the 40th time GSP says he’s going to finish his fights. I still think GSP is a fine champ and I feel like you think I’m hating on him when I’m not.

Sure fair point but it doesn’t change my point that it looks bad that GSP is supposed to be the 2# best **well rounded skilled at everything fighter in the world **don’t you get? Anderson catches flak for not having great tdd so why can’t GSP get judged on questionable BJJ?
They are held to a higher standard because of what they represent: the best. Sure it’s not fair but it happens to all champions and GSP is no different.
There really isn’t much of an argument regarding GSP’s refusal to finish fights, but don’t confuse it as an inability. That’s a completely different thing altogether.
People make mistakes, man. Even at the higher levels. Regarding Georges’ BJJ, he’s strong at it, but no one said he was Pablo Popovitch either, y’know. It MAY also be a factor that Georges is moving ahead based on his talent, drive and athleticism first and extreme technical know how distant second.
But then again, maybe GSP playing his matches safe is good for him physically in the long run. Not everyone can be Anderson, PRIDE-era Wand or Jacare. We’ll see what happens when Diaz finally gets to fight him (provided that Nick doesn’t 'eff up publicly again).
So apparently Roy Nelson hasn’t lost much weight if any, though he seems to be over his pneumonia. His future is in doubt if he loses to Cro Cop, but even with a win will Dana forgive his belly or still send him packing?
Nelson wont get cut if he beats Cro Cop. He would get an earful of Dana telling him to lose his belly, but thats probably the worst of it. He’s been training with that douche Mir so he probably knows what to expect. I just hope he doesnt try to stand and trade with Cro Cop though.
No man I never said GSP CAN"T finish fights I’m saying he WON’T finish fights. I agree him fighting safe is great for him in the long term health but really the other champions aren’t exactly getting murdered or hurt and they are finishing fights. I still think it’s fair for people to criticize him for his lack of killer instinct because long time fans like us who watched his early fights know just how much a monster he can be if he ever gets his balls back.
It’s like he’s got Ricky Bobby syndrome where he can’t compete at his best because he’s got a fear handicap or something. It’s truly bizarre to see the man who made beast like BJ and Matt Hughes ( who used to be a monster in his own right) look like ass is now having probs stopping Sheilds and Hardy.
GSP surely has problem with his Bjj imo and I think HE THINKS it’s the weakest part of his game. I also agree his body helps him more than his skill but that could also be argued for Jones so it’s a moot point imo.
In the end I believe his safe fighting style with comeback and bite him in the ass, Condit and Diaz are the perfect two to exploit it as well because they are so skilled everywhere with ko power ( Condit more than Diaz). If keeps winning the safe way it’ll be interesting to see how the masses perceive him. As the old beast every fighter feared? Or the point fighter who is dominate but has confidence issues and sees a sport psychologist.

I dont hate Diaz in fact I used to be a fan until I started to pay attention to what he says about 4 years ago. Anybody that whines like a pissed off teenager as much as him at his age is just… I dunno hard to support. Plus he’s way immature been saying it for years and none of my friends believed me and called me a fickle fan until this whole GSP scandal.
He has a good fighting style but I’ll always been a bigger fan of Nate Diaz because he seems like Nick ( similar fighting style,skills) except a more mature version with common sense to separate personal beliefs from business.

Maybe but I think that has more to do with taking after his brother. When it comes down to it NIck is borderline retarded while Nate still seems like he has his wits about him is all.
