Can someone make sense of it for me? I’m having a really hard time seeing how circle-jabbing away from your opponent for 15 minutes gets you a decision after you get knocked down in the second and your face demolished in the third. =(
Didn’t even realize Bellator was on tonight, probably woulda watched it. The fight BEFORE Pacquiao’s fight was pretty entertaining, but Mosely chickened out after the knockdown. It was like Clottey all over again, except Mosely can run faster. Probably his last fight, and who does Pac fight next? Maybe a third fight with Marquez, Floyd don’t want none. And then what after Marquez?

this fight sucks mostly because of mosley. all that shit talk the he likes pacquiao because he will fight toe to toe, but after he gets hit he ran as fast as the ring would allow him to. now, just imagine mayweather vs pac, mayweather wouldn’t wait to get it, he would just run from the start of the bell. that fight would really suck. imo, ortiz vs pac would be the most promising/entertaining fight for pac in the future…

Interesting point of view, what do you guys think about shorter rounds, and more of them? Coming from Nelson who’s primarily a BJJ guy, I’d think he’d want more time to work and control guys, so it’s not the person I’d expect to see it coming from. Or maybe Big Biscuit just wants a few more breathers in there lol.
I think a 10 round championship fight would be pretty crazy, maybe almost too long. Although at least with the UFC you don’t have to sit around while every “important” figurehead in the damn commission stands around the ring getting their picture taken and backs patted before the fight starts like in boxing. That could shave off an extra 15 minutes or so.
3 min is too short. Every fight should be one round, 30 minutes. Cardio all day son.

Nelson makes good arguments. To be honest I can’t say I’d be against it unless someone makes a compelling counter-argument.
IMO, the immediate counter-argument is that it makes it even more favorable to strikers over grapplers.
It can take a few minutes to break down someones guard and set up submissions, especially at the highest levels of the game.
I’d much rather see a sudden-death round in the case of ties. I realize that this wouldn’t help shitty judges, but at least there’s a chance to go all out for both fighters when you realize the judges are, in fact, shitty.
Can you imagine how fast fights would get stood up if the ref knew there was only three minutes in each round? It already happens from ridiculous positions by shitty refs (side control, even mount occasionally).
