The MMA Thread. BJ Penn Didn't Die #HeDeadThough

Oh my fucking God that was awesome. He got Sparta kicked in his face.

did you expect expert thoughts comming out of one of the most racist placist on the web… common now.

damn i fucked up most of my picks.

Okami won by DQ. He got kicked in the face and was laid out like a bitch.

Wandy?

Yeah that wasn’t much of a “win”. Dude “won” by getting KTFO. He looked bad in that fight too, going for obvious, slow-looking takedowns from 5 feet away.

^_-;

The sad part was that Okami had the chance to keep fighting but he didnt want to and took the win by dq…

why is that sad? if your fucked up, your going to take a loss because the guy cheated?

Jon Jones is a part of the Greg Jackson camp right?

Anyone think GSP’s best strategy to prepare for Anderson (aside from bulking up), at least in the striking department if their fight were to happen, is to spar against Jon Jones?

Jones is taller, has a longer reach and possesses a similar frame to Anderson. The coaches could tell Jones during sparring to move around and throw out random knees, elbows, kicks, etc to maybe help train GSP to quickly react to any strikes by Anderson and shoot in for a TD.

I watched an Ariel Helwani post-fight interview with Silva and he said he practiced that front kick with his BJJ coaches but they’d always be able to counter and take him down and submit him.

Also watched an interview with Steven Seagal and he said Anderson wrote him and asked him to “teach me your deadly moves.”

lol UFC judges fucked up again last night.

Forrest fight was plain boring it was a clear win though one of his better performances, he left the ring with barely any damage to his face for once.

Glad to see Jones win really convincingly too. Frog leap FTW bring on UFC 128!

Anderson Silva learnt that kick from Segal lol. I really hate UFC crowd, maybe it’s the booze but booing Silva every fight then cheering him at the end is a real douche move.

I’m also really hating everytime Anderson fights he does standard martial art technique and Rogan goes ballistic, OMG I’VE NEVER SEEN THAT KICK, LETS LOOK AT IT AGAIN!! AGAIN!! AGAIN!! I won’t ever be that hysterical unless Silva manages to knockout a jumping opponent with a sumersault kick or dragon punch lol

Plenty of times, nobody has been knocked out though. It came out of nowhere and I was initially as suprised as Rogan that Belfort was knocked out by it, but then he kept going on and on and on. Silva threw another low side kick but I guessed they must have missed it.

I might have to watch it again, but I thought Vitor never really saw it coming like Rampage’s KO over Chuck, ktfo.

Fighting genius? Oh man. I don’t know about you guys but that cat had a kick me sign running all up his body. Not sure what vitals he was “protecting” but the bottom line is that dude wasn’t trained to deal with the situation and didn’t know his opponents range. If I didn’t have a clue as to how far the guy I was fighting could kick, that last option would be for me to try and “take” it. His coach must be still shitting on him from yesterday for getting hit like that.

I mean damn, look how long it took for his foot to travel from the ground and hit Vitor. Shit is comical, but in all fairness that niggas leg is like 50% toe.

Oh yeaaa. The extra dhalsim length got him.

Ahh makes sense

Sooo yeah, good event! The Shogun/Bones announcement was quite a surprise, clearly they going for the marketable aspect instead of “who deserves it more”. Can’t wait to see it, it’s back to the gym for JJ.

What more can be said about Silva except genius…I doubt we’ll see another fighter like him in this generation (Maybe Aldo will be that dude)

*EDIT - Oh, and Forrest fucking DWARFED Franklin, shit was comical, Rich didn’t know what the fuck to do

Okay, first off, most “push” kicks are used with your lead foot. The real reason why this clown got hit is because of his stance blocking the his view of the leg and his over reliance on visual cue info to begin with. He though he saw what he saw but he didn’t see shit and couldn’t defend because he wasn’t trained properly. Muay Thai or whatever you want his excuse to be, this shit is called mixed martial arts and to be honest it’s not like there are so many ways a person can even throw that kick. Hell it was less of a kick than a sloppy boot to the face. He got beat by his own stiff ass neck.

I want to see Anderson/Shogun more now.

I mean anderson has cleaned out his division. Maybe one last defense against Okami.

Yeah sure, why not. And why your trying to be funny explain to me why I am wrong. You know, because I am obviously and idiot that doesn’t have any understanding of what I am saying right?

You are both correct IMO

Same here. It makes more sense for him to fight at 205 then GSP move up at 185.
