The MMA Thread. BJ Penn Didn't Die #HeDeadThough

Next up! Strike Force heavy weight grand prix.

This coming sat February 12th on show time . I am so looking forward to this.

A lot of people are already looking past Antonio Silva(and I hope Fedor wins) but the guy gave Werdum all the trouble in the world.

I hear what you are saying man, I am saying the samething but also saying that it shouldn’t be an excuse. Dude was just trained improperly. Hell guys that have all the training in the world still fuck up, especially if they don’t listen to their corner. You did lose me at the whole reverting to basics thing though lol. What, we all supposed to use complicated techniques and whatever and just toss the basics to the side? As far as taking on Silva, that niggas not even in my weight class. lol

Indeed. Who you got for the first set between Fedor vs Silva and Sergei vs Andre Arlovski?

holy shit. you’re alive.

Yeah, I watched how he set it up, that’s why I posted to watch for that kick right before he did it lol. I’d fight Silva if they paid me. But he’d have to bulk up.

No he wouldn’t

Bones Jones is still the man. Can’t wait to see him take on Shogun.

I really thought Belfort would give Silva a good fight, but he hesitated for too long. Chael Sonnen showed it best that you HAVE to rush him down and not be afraid.

What do you mean? Armwise? or just range? Explain.

Bullshit, throw some weight on his ass, that’ll slow him down lol.

lol chael showed us all the light…rush this nigga down and corner trap him.

lol @ you guys that are saying you’d have known better than to get caught by a kick that nobody’s ever seen KO a nigga before.

Maybe your green ass.

You just describe an ideal situation for a lot of people. You think you know why it would be good for you to be in that position but what would you do to get in that postion. You see how he likes to move the left and he has great ring awarness. Like you said, easir said than done.

Yeah, to clarify apparently Anderson told Rogan that Seagal taught him the front kick, in the post fight interview.

He told him this despite the fact that the kick is a common kick in various disciplines and he’s used it before. But this is all just Sherdog heresay.

You’re fuckin up, lol. Never go to that place.

I can kind of understand why Jones is getting the shot over some of the other contenders. There’s just too much talent at 205, they all could beat each other up at any given time for the most part. If you get on a run like Jones is on, where nobody can really touch you, it’s easy to market that fight. Whereas anyone else it’s like “yeah he used to be champ, but didn’t he lose/almost lose/shoulda lost to so and so?” Right now with Jon Jones you aren’t saying that, you’re saying how the fuck does ANYONE beat this guy? Furthermore we’ve already asked how does Shogun beat this guy, is he gonna use his brand new Dana White inspired takedown defense?

I just feel bad for Rock, we already know his man love for Rashad knows no bounds. He must have been fighting back tears all night lol. Speaking of which, do we see Rashad go to 185 if Jon Jones wins the title? Or do we see the UNR version of this recent Silva/Belfort feud?

whatever buddy, you know you’d have gotten your shit kicked into the front row just as easily.

sidebar, the KO’s where the nigga falls to the mat and kinda bounces back up off of their back leg are the best, anytime that happens the ref should just call it immediately, nobody ever comes back from that shit.

That’s the difference between us. I don’t see him as being the greatest anything. He is definitely a superb athelete within the confines of his sport though. It’s all relative anyway, I say let people have their fun hyping shit up. I was just try to throw a little bit of subjective critism in to the mix to see what the response would be.

That being said, who here besides Thurst thinks Anderson would still get whooped by a monkey.

What the hell, the bookies are already picking Bones as the favourite to win against Shogun!

lol

Only know i’ve decided to consider anderson as pfp the best fighter in the world… only slightly ahead of fedor.

more like bookies know that heavy money is gonna come in on jones so they’re raking in as much value as possible.

looking at odds though, antonio silva is +325 against fedor…not saying i think he’s win, but 3 to 1? def value there.

Why? didnt Rashads training partner say that after wrestling with jones he believes that rashad would easily beat him? if jones does beat shogun that doesnt necessarily mean that rashad could too.

All these allegiances fighters have are kinda lame and taking away from the sport.
