So, I was reading the frame data for close Hard Punch and it gives a +3 frame advantage on hit. So, if the Hard Punch takes 8 frames to come out, how come we’re able to combo with the RSF in the first place? Does the Dash x stop x Fierce lower the startup frames or what?
because when you do raw cl.fp. its +3 after the animation is over. the run cancels the rest of the animation. hope that helps a little lol
Yes, it actually did.
Assuming perfect timing, that means those 17 frames of recovery are converted to frame advantage. So you have 20 frames to link with another FP. I forgot that you’re canceling the fierce into dash, not linking. Since there’s 60 frames in a second, that means we have 0.33 or 1/3 of a second to pull off the next HP.
Putting it in that perspective, it sounds annoying. Not to mention that because the move comes out in 9 frames (8 start up), he has to execute it by the 11th frame to be able to hit again. So that means we have even less time to execute that annoying little combo. Man, I always knew the RSf was annoying, but that’s just makes it intimidating. As they say, practice should overcome that.
what can fuerte do after blocking a hurricane kick?
Probably nothing I tried a couple of different setups in training room and nothing seems to react fast enough after the landing.
I’d suggest back-dashing or teching. It’s -2, which means Elf has nothing fast enough to punish.
why not duck the hurricane-kick in the first place? from there you can cr.hp or guac that thing
how do you guys deal with a demon flip happy akuma while in the corner? i try not to get myself in the corner…but stuff happens…anyway j.lk usually gets stuffed and air throw rarely works and ex guac usually gets punished
run back tortilla, free untechable knockdown.
Surely you’d just get Fajita if you’re in the corner…
lol I missed that part then. idk I run back, or if im in the corner i just jump to the wall and off. hes not really that horizontal in the air.
Spab mentioned Run slide for free vs Yun/Yang palm strike they can’t use it for meter building. Punish it EVERY TIME it’s done.
Seen in a spab vid, Yun dash punch punishable by grab
Bumping this. Paper are you going to keep updating because I’ll keep reading both threads.
ALso add IIPeru on the notable American Fuertes, I don’t know if Mechanica should be on there because I haven’t heard much from him recently…
After I get the feel of SF4 AE I’ll start updating it. With the nerfs to fuerte i’m trying to put lots of time into relearning my character so I can play him properly and win consistently.

I just made this video. Not enough videos out there for this kind of stuff. Please enjoy.
Against Gief the match should be won by whoever gets a life lead. That we are used to already. In AE Gief’s Ultra 2 has more range now, so Gief can catch Fuerte if he can walk him into a corner because the area it covers doesn’t let Fuerte wall jump over him. Instead you have to treat him the way you treat Phoenix in MvC3. Basically get a life lead but make sure not to hit Gief enough to gain Ultra 2. It kinda felt messed up but it’s so much more work not to lame him out and win by time. Plus it’s nice to see Gief players unable to rely on patience for a change…
Q-bomb is the way to go against Gief if you ask me. Ultra 2 for gief having more range makes it really really annoying now.
you guys are wayy overthinking this match up. I treat his u2 the same way i treat roses u2 in super. 90 % of the time when i play either of those match ups i always have a huge life lead, I used to play scared and back off when ever either one had u2 just like everyone else. What would end up happening is I would back myself into a corner and take uneccessary damage, then when I would try to mount an offense again and get hit with u2 the opponent would have a huge swing of life and momentum in their favor.
The way I play it now is if i have a huge life lead I just keep on attacking I could care less about getting hit with level 1 ultra from gief im not scared of the mix up afterwards cause of all my meter, and even if he hits it you prob still have a life lead and hes left without ultra so you can continue molesting him on wake up. Thats just my take on how i approach the match up now.
oh and for those that care im gonna be playing in peaceful jay’s salty conflict tourney this thursday come support a fuerte and stream monster it up.
post links… will stream monster
Sorry you didn’t go farther Peru…
If it makes you feel any better, there were a couple stream monsters still mentioning you in the 4th bracket.
