Lucha Libre or GTFO.
You act like a total queer paper haha, but yea that sucks ffa is shady in the after hours
Thanks to everyone for the Gief pointers, as for Lariat I meant beating it while Iām airborne. But Iām starting to think I should just NOT jump anymore. But that in itself is worse. Headbutt is wonky, airthrow and guac sometimes beat itā¦inconsistency sucks.
DONT get ahead of yourself with Ultra when trying to counter headbutt. his jump is a touch slow.
@Saco - See you next week after you cool your heels.
@Paper - I think your smile is what peeved him more. I try to stay in a nuetral expression until I can get a person to open up. You observed the buddy rule. Good on you. If his name is Vic Darchinyan, I suggest you run. The biggest pile of haterade Iāve had is as follows:
The SSF4 machines in Chinatown fair are 3 minutes a quarter. As you guys know Iām a turtle. I played a Viper player he was busy trying to fake me out from full screen. I wasnt falling for it. he wins a round, I win one, then I start to kill the clock on him or 3 runs out with me having a comfy life lead and half the round left, I go to offer a good game, he walks out.
other one I had was a guy who waits for me to pick, then counter picks akuma and starts laughing. this is what he said that peeved me:
-
he floors me with an air fireball after escaping my mixups, then catches me again on a bad guess by me with another air fireball: āI can be cheap tooā
-
he does a max range far stand HK, before the second kick gets off El Fuerte is talking about Deliveries. āThis is bullshitā
Hard knockdown I run and back dash with LK, his Fierce DP goes off into the air. Free Ultra. "What the fuck is this shit. I baited you.
His incredulous comment just made me turn and look at him with a face of confusion, annoyance, and shut the fuck up.
Honestly. Even when Iām getting my ass kicked Iām laughing and having fun. (in retrospect I donāt know why I rage in my house online sometimes.)
People donāt like losing to Fuerte because they dont understand him, think heās random AND. look at the rsf its repetitive looking, which is annoying.
Usually, if I feel I totally spanked a dude, Iāll say āGood gameā and tell them some stuff that works. but I dont wanna know whatāll happen when I finally pull RSFsā¦

I have a question on the Rufus matchup, what is a good reliable normal to stuff his dive kick? I have had some success with cr.fp but sometimes it seems to miss and I eat a big combo as a result (not sure if its mistiming on my end or hitbox issue). dropkick seemed to work but not as well as in vanilla. One thing I tried the other day is to do Qbomb on reaction, seems like it can stuff it or trade but if Rufus goes for a very low dive kick, he will recover in time to block and punish. Any advice on proper timing to counter his dive kicks will help as I am very lacking in this [\QUOTE]
s.hk stuffs dive kicks at mid range. run back stop, s.hk works very well. you can juggle them with lk guac too if you hit em at the apex of their dive kick.
Gief is pretty free for Tortillas, remember that you can tortilla (and tostada) him a lot differently than most characters, since of his size, you can hold full on in his direction and if he jumps or something, you usually wonāt be right next to him because of the sharp angle you take.
Gief is one of those characters, where if I lose, I know it was my fault. There is no way for Gief to safely get in on Fuerte.
I need Ken help. When playing against a Ken that uses more than fierce what do you do against the following:
- Dealing with step kick, :r::mk:, on block and as a poke.
- Heās constant corner pressure.
- How do you bait someone thatās unbaitable?
- Kara throw.
Tired of getting my ass beat because I tech at the wrong time. :crybaby:
kara throw is thrown a frame later then a regular throw just need to tech late
for baiting some one unblockable you have to get into there head
so as elf just stay on top of them until they actually do something baitable
honestly for corner pressure I just block/ tech and wait for an opening
Iāve had way more times that I EX guac out of a corner just to find myself back in the corner because the opponent seeās it coming
Same with wall jumps canāt be to predictable with them
a good timed focus will counter a step kick btw
on block there isnāt much to do its -2 on frame advantage and a low medium kick coming out at 4 frames will pretty much stuff anything you do to counter poke
Step kick on block you should crouch tech
Block corner pressure and EX run away at the first oppurtunity
Donāt bait if you canāt bait and keep pressuring
Kara throw seems like an easy read to me so just try and see if the Ken goes for 3 hits and then try to tech but be careful of SRK mixups by checking if they have 2 bars to FADC an SRK.
Youāre assuming the Ken is pridictable. What if heās not. Crouch teching gets you killed more than it helps.
modded slightlyā¦ but This quote right here should go in the Ken section of the cookbook.
I can bet MONEY that if you all stop IMMEDIATELY assuming that a Ken player is a flowchart youāll do better.
Personally, when I fight my brother, after Step Kick he likes to go into Cr MK.
I think Kenās step kick is as dangerous to El Fuerte as Abelās F+mk since it also moves him forward, and due to Fuerteās slow normals he can do stuff on us from there.
my brother would mix in crMK xx fireball) / Kara Throw / Overhead / stepping overhead / fake step overhead / walk up throw/ tick jabs / DP /crmp xx fireball
Thereās a lot of stuff he can do. I think Ken is a worse matchup then Ryu, Ken can really get on you, has two overheads, that Karathrow eats your run and his DPs do more then tickle
a well placed FA (release instantly if he Crmkās and you should be able to hit him before fireball) or Backdash is what weāre looking for here. but I think its best to not allow Ken to get to where he can use it.
if they start using it repeatedly to close in instead of dashing itās easier to discourage him from using it.
Ken is more susceptible to punishes then Ryu is but Ken can still hurt you pretty quickly.Iām glad they didnt give him his crazy kicks, then weād really be crying
The Abel comparison is accurate. All of our options have counters, and counters that HURT. Are we forced to block and tech on reaction and then hope for a good read on the reset?
Honestly. my brother was easy reads until he finally got it through his head to grab. now that he starts grabbing it makes it that much trickier.
The other thing too: As mentioned the Kara Throw comes out a frame slowerā¦ which makes sense as when I tried to backdash after blocking step kick, I got tossed. FA straight to backdash I THINK is a solution here. but the fact remains here for Ken you have to keep him away.
i didnt shower kick combod into rsf on counter hit
mind fuck because iāve done it to you before
I bet youve literally jerked to our matches you arrogant swine
With all the wonderful fights Iāve had, the match we had pails in comparison, the tacos were good though, thanks! (also, fuck your mother) that is all.
I cant wait for the day you get jumped at ffa, also next time youāll be buying the tacos dick
Was that argument serious? Take it to PMs or something.
One thing about Desuoās post, I dunno if comparing Abelās f+mk to Kenās is completely accurate, since Abel still has to connect to move forward, whereas Ken moves forward regardless.
I fully agree on the Ken front. Iāve climbing my way up the charts but losing to mid level Kens who are this really awful mixture of flowchart and skill. It fucking messes up my brain. As a crouch tech black belt, I never ever use it against Ken because I get destroyed. Sad face.
true, but my point is about the block stun, with the situation being similar to Abel in that you dont want to be there. if ken whiffs a step kick and you can hit him with something go ahead.
