People are saying Fuerte’s one of the best? If that’s the case, there’d be more of us.
I don’t think anyone here is really worth being on the list - at least not yet. I guess you can we’re notable in that we’ve helped the Fuerte metagame while players like TKD are waiting for the arcade release.
Well, I was going to put him in my post as someone notable, but I don’t know how prominent he is in the European community, but I guess that’s a dumb reason.
also standing lk combo’s into crouching mk so if your close enough you could easily do standing lk xx Cmk xx cmk > tortilla
I’ve only been able to do this in training mode though
I ask because I’m having trouble landing Ultra 2 nowadays, I pretty much only land it when I successfully bait a dp or ultra. Otherwise I just always miss it, particularly when I need it most. It has a fast startup but it doesn’t seem like my opp. has to be that far away for it to whiff
It depends on the character. I’ve had success with doing it against Balrogs that jump in. For characters that run away, Ultra 1 may be good if they don’t jump far.
OK I guess strictly punishing is the best method, but it’s hard to find an opening when someone is playing really safe. Another Fuerte player I know has a good use of U2 where he does EX Run to absorb a jump-in attack, then does U2 straight after. Seemed fool proof, but I don’t know how to execute it. I tried EX Run > Stop then U2 but it’s too slow. How is it done?
It’s actually an option select. Here’s how it’s done:
Do QCB+PP then immediately press all three kick buttons. If they don’t hit you, you’ll get to run away, assuming they aren’t going to attack with a command grab or armor breaker. If they hit you, you’ll go straight into the Ultra with no cost to your super meter.
The timing’s tricky, but it’s probably the most important option select for you to learn.
ah you’re right. i just tested it. (i never touched elf in vanilla) i’m guessing it’s changed for some other characters as well? i wonder why something like that would change.
