The Marvel Q & A - Rebirth

Just going to this thread to recommend a book (arguably the best book in terms of information with regards to the X-Men).

Ultimate X-Men by Peter Sanderson

This one is OK. However, Marvel will be publishing Marvel Encyclopedia 2, which will be focused on the X-men. That book could be better.

Um… shouldn’t they have picked a better/more original name since there is now an Ultimate X-Men?

Or is this book kind of old?

And Rogue has all off those poweres at her disposal whenever she pleases?

Technically, YES!

Realistically, no. :o

I mean, if you’re talking about if can use ALL those powers at once, then no way in hell. She probably immediately go insane.

If you’re talking about if can you the powers of the beings that she actually absorbed without being taken over or anything (the ONLY exception to this rule is Ms. Marvel/Warbird obviously) at any given time, then yes.

I think the maximum she can use at one time is eight with going totally insane. However, that was the old Rouge I think.

Any event, she many just uses two different at a time (well, three if count her Ms. Marvel permanance).

This book is about 2 years old now. It was released before Ultimate Marvel was conceptualized.

This book is great if you want to have a good overall knowledge on the X-Men (this book explain stuff (with detailed illusration) like X-Mansion, Blackbird, Cerebro, Madripoor, Savage Land, Danger Room, Imperial Guard, Alpha Flight, etc.)

Still, no book matches yet the detail level featured on websites like www.x-mencomics.com/xfan/forums and www.uncannyxmen.net.

Anyway, an updated version of this book will come out a few months from now.

If you can’t find online, then I’ll just go look at Virgins or something later today.

Currently Rogue and Gambit have lost all their powers.

Wow, I didn’t think Marvel kept track of all Rogue absorbed! Thanks for that!

sano: Marvel didn’t put this together. The people at uncannyxmen.net almost assuredly put ALL of it together from scratch. Thank them. However, I will say that I do think that Marvel DOES have a master list. At least it should…

Agent Guile: I looked today and I found nothing about what you spoke during my trip to Virgin. However, they seemed to have moved a BUNCH of stuff around, so all I really found was a lot of DC stuff ( :bluu: ) and the TPB X-Treme X-Men Invansion.

Sorry.

Alright. I’ll just thank you once again and leave it at that.

This is the X-Men guide book I’m talking about:

Other recommendation:

What happened to Exodus? all i know is that he fought Holocaust and lost.

Also what happened to Adam Warlock? Isn’t his soul gem in the hands of Rune the vampire?

No, I’m pretty sure he’s retrieved it.

MARVEL ENCYCLOPEDIA VOLUME 2 - X-MEN is out! It’s very thorough and fairly up to date (mentions Archangel’s new found power to heal others with his blood and that Banshee got his throat slit), has Power Ratings and has almost every Mutant you can think of, all though sometimes the info is very brief and only the character’s powers are described, like for some of the Morlocks. It even includes dead characters which the first Encyclopedia didn’t, for the most part!

MVC2 X-Men characters that are in this book and were not in the last Encyclopedia are Marrow, Spiral, Silver Samurai, Omega Red, Psylocke and Colossus. From Capcom games past, Apocalypse and Onslaught are in the book.

So the only MVC2 Characters not in either two Marvel Encyclopedias are Blackheart and Shuma Gorath. MVC1 helper U.S. Agent isn’t in any of the books either.

Marvel obviosly doesn’t have a Master List of all the people Rogue absorbed or they just don’t care because in the last issue of X-Treme X-Men Rogue said she’s never absorbed Mystique before.

Perhaps they retconned it? Doesn’t really matter as the continuity aspect and overall content of X-treme X-Men is beginning to get x-tremely shitty anyway.

EDIT: Edited for more objectiveness.

I find that list HIGHLY suspect due to the fact that it lists Kree and Skrull DNA as being absorbed by Rogue and then goes on to say she can’t absorb aliens and she can’t absorb living organic beings? That makes not ONE lick of sense.

sano’s Semi Annual Bump!

Blackheart’s Bio is in the new Marvel Encyclopedia regarding Marvel Knights. Now, we’re only missing Shuma Gorath, and US Agent from the games.

Side Note, even Spidey-Armored Spider-Man got a brief description in the Spider-Man Marvel Encyclopedia!

To catch up, Magneto is now dead, or dead again with Wolvie decapitating him. (He was hiding out as Xorn for a while.) Looks like Cyclops is gonna start dating White Queen for a bit wth Jean Grey temporarily dead too.

I suppose that I should begin updating this way more often, especially since it’s one of the few things that survived, for whatever reason, and I started this thread.

Look for something tomorrow or even tonight, hopefully(/doubtfully).

Cool! As long as I’m not alone Posting here, using the Marvel Encyclopedias, I’m gonna list the Power Ratings of the MVC2 Characters.

Intelligence - 1
Energy Projection - 2 (His Gadouken can only hit you at close range)
Fighting Skills - 3 (He had some training under Gouken)
Durability - 1
Speed - 1

I’ll list all the MVC2 Character’s Power Ratings soon.

Updates on MVC2 Characters -

OT, but pick up the latest issue of X-Treme X-Men! A long lost Mutant has returned! Here’s a hint, it’s a girl!

Venom - It was revealed that Symbiotes absorb adrenaline. When the suit seperated from Eddie Brock, he came down with Cancer due to the lack of Adrenaline. The Symbiote being pregnant again was running around killing/absorbing adrenaline from random people. It wanted to merge with Spider-Man again, because he was the only one to have enough adrenaline to support it. Spider-Man tricked the symbiote so it could re-combine with Eddie again thius saving his life and loosing the Symbiote’s baby.

Somehow another Venom Symbiote has appeared in Alaska. It is very likely that it is another child of the Symbiote.

Marrow - Now a member of Weapon X
Magneto - Once again he’s dead, and it was revealed that Polaris is in fact his daughter.
