CYCLOPS’ BROTHER FINALLY REVEALED! SORT OF…
In X-Men the End, Claremont revealed that Gambit was a clone Mr. Sinister made of Cyclops’ genetic material to be his next ‘host body.’ He left him with the Guild of Thieves so he could be ‘the evil’ but the rub was he turned out to be an X-Men… so Mr. Sinister explained that he was like Cyclops’ step brother. Well, I always thought Gambit was Cyclops’ other brother Sinister mentioned years ago. Still, since this explanation came out in ‘the End’ an unofficial alternate future for the X-Men, it’s not exactly official/canon.
Picked up the Wolverine Soultaker issue 2 I was missing before, apparently 11 of the Shinsengumi rose up to fight Wolverine. It was pretty easy to tell which one was Saito Hajime since there was a drawing that represented the 11 before they were dead. (he was left handed, the same stance he uses in Rurouni Kenshin.) I’m gonna see if I can pick all of them out. The drawing looks a lot like one Rurouni Kenshin’s author drew before of the Shinsengumi.
Given the way Marvel is steadily trashing and razing their source material under Joey Q’s reign of stupidity I wouldn’t pay much attention to anything that comes out right now.
‘Missing Summers Brother’ = Adam X, the Xtreme.
Shatterstar = Longshot and Dazzler’s son.

I was reading a review of Thunderbolts on Newsarama and someone mentioned him as possibily being the current new Swordsman.
Also Thunderbolts is probably the closest thing at Marvel to JSA. It isn’t as good as JSA is but it is still fun as heck and has a sort of old school vibe where stuff actually happens in a single issue rather being spread out like a lot of Marvel stories are now.
Neither of those is canon. Gambit was built up as a possible missing summers brother just as much as Adam X prior to Joe’s reign, so you can’t say that. I am inclined to believe that it is Adam though since his story just fucking ended without resolution of anything.
The whole Shatterstar thing got fucked in the ass when they told that stupid story about shatterstar and how he’s NOT shatterstar, yet is… it was garbage. And they never explained exactly how spiral came into play in that story but emphasized hella shit about her.
Old X-men character. on shatterstars level when it comes to melee and his mutant power is to ignite blood once it’s drawn, so if he opens a wound on you, he burns you from the inside out.
Here’s how Shin Nagasawa drew the Shinsengumi in the third issue of Wolverine’s Soultaker mini series. I can’t really pick out who’s supposed to be who outside of guestimates, but like I said before you can easily tell that Saito Hajime of Rurouni Kenshin fame is on the right.

Exactly, Joe’s reign has been such a disaster I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in anything that’s happened under him sticking after he’s gone. The damage is simply too great otherwise.

Anyone else like the second mutation that Beast got when Morrison took over, which made him look like a upright lion?
Personally I think it made him less of a big blue Wolverine and actually gave him something to do in storylines. But from what I hear, House of M might undo it.
I don’t know. I found cat Beast hilarious when Morrison was hinting that Beast was Gay. That picture by Quietly with the entire Mutant Academy sitting outside the school where cat Beast had his legs crossed, that was really funny at the time, he really looked Gay in that drawing. But later Beast said he was joking about him being Gay anyway.
Never cared much for cat Beast but they did it, no real reason not to stick with it. In House of M Beast went back to looking the way he looked before his blue furry mutation so if that part of House of M sticks, I can’t see how he’d go back to the way he used to look, but he’d go back to big hands big feet human looking Beast or something like that. Then again who knows.
Can’t say I actually have anything against him turning back to a human, but honestly I just hope it isn’t back into the big blue hairy Wolverine version that he was sporting for so long.
The big lion thing actually fit his character more to me, majestic with mannerisms and intellect at one moment, the next capable of ripping you apart the next. The name by itself doesn’t lend well to the whole ape like powers he got in my mind, but hell I wasn’t actually around for human Beast.
I wonder is anything from the House of M gonna stick. Like Hawkeye. He said he feels his exsistence is paper thin.
I wish the New Avengers would get to some real action. I really wanna see who Ronin is. But he’s not supposed to show up until #12.
Bendis is pretty adamant about not bringing Hawkeye back to life. But then again, that’s what everybody says before they bring a character back to life. Still, an “Alternate Reality” version of a character is a much better way to bring someone back instead of the usual “I didn’t die in the first place it was a trick” or them just returning from the grave.
Still it’s kinda weird. Hawkeye just died in dissasembled. When HoM is over he might still be living (then he can rejoin the New Avengers). But that may be a little far fetched.
The fact that Wanda is so powerful now that she can bring people back to life is weird too. I believe that Apocalypse is in HoM too. I think he rules over Egypt.
Gotta wait to the end of September to see Ronin show up. He seems to be a unique character. Ironically the New Avengers are supposed to meet him while fighting Ninja’s in Japan or Something.
While New Avengers is my favorite comic book right now, seriously, can’t you find a better name for a character other then Ronin which I’ve only heard about 100 times? Pick up a Japanese/English dictionary, start flipping through the pages and pick out a word or just look up a word that identifies with your character and there you go.
Yeah, Apocalypse is alive in HOM. I’ve been meaning to catch up this thread on what the cast of MVC2 is up to in the House of M, I’ll post it up either today or tomorrow. And I just got the Avengers 2005 Marvel Universe comic, it has a much better account of what War machine it up to as well. X-Statix is coming back, no word or who will write and draw the book. Whoever takes over the book, new team please and do not bring any of the characters back to life… oh who am I kidding it’s Marvel. So how’s Bucky doing by the way? 
CSN said there’s a rumor floating that Stephen King will write a Marvel Comic, due to last year’s SDCC when Quesada was asked which writer outside of comics he’d like to pull in he said one word, “King.” Come on CSN, that was last year. They must of heard something else recently and are being sneaky. I think King should write X-Force. Combined with Liefeld’s terrible artwork it just may be the scariest comic book ever created…
Lastly on the big upcoming Spider-Man crossover that’s supposed to be the outcome of all the stuff that’s happened to Peter in Amazing as I think I said before Morlun is coming back. Stracynski reveals that Spider-Man is going to loose an organ by the end of the story. Wonder if it’s a lung or a kidney. I bet some people would be happy if he lost the magical organ that produces organic Spider Webs…
