The Martial Arts Movie Thread 2017 Donnie hates his fans

Found this. pretty cool

The SF vs Tekken short I posted in the lounge

This is actually pretty damn cool lol, though the SFX was sweet but the musical choices meh. Good fighting.

thats like 3 years old bruh

oh, well fuck you then kind sir! Havent seen it before and its awesome so I figured it was worth a share lol.

For real? Its the same crew that did all those live action ultra combo vids, the other Street Fighter live action that came out at the same time as Legacy

Too much cam movement and quick cuts for my liking, gives the illusion of a fast pace.

they also did the naruto vid too. actually this video just reminded me…they fucking finally put episode 1 of their new web series out like on new years day. got to check that out in the am.

I remember posting that vid a long time ago in my FB martial arts movie group. It was pretty cool, I just hate how Kazuya was getting bodied.

Over here posting crystal meth ken in shit.

Yeah, I’ve been sure to put this clip on all my android devices and portable hard drives.

I still wished they made a sequel to that SFXT short film. I wanted to see Jin vs Evil Ryu.

There was another Tekken short greenlit by Namco back in 2012

ya that one was from england or france…i recognize one of the guys as a well known tricker over there.

not even close…its a shame you have no clue who he is.

Dayum they got the moves down perfectly lol, the stances, god i love it when amateurs piss all over real movie studios.

Bumping this thread with some good news and bad news.

Good: Eric Jacobus in Rope A Dope 2

Bad: Darren Shahlavi aka Twister in Ip Man 2 has passed away. I’ll see if i can get more info later. The action world just lost a good one :frowning:
Edit: Died in his sleep. He was 42. Oh man…

So this is finally out? Man I have been following this for a while. I loved the first one soooo much.

Sad about Darren Shahlavi. Pretty young, especially for a martial artist. Sending love to his fam.

Been hoping for a RAD sequel, and I hope it becomes a series. Shame about Darren. Early as hell, but at the same time, we should all be so lucky as to go out so peacefully rather than awake, aware, and in pain and fear. Sorry if that sounds morbid.

Looks like The Raid 3 will not be even worked on until 2018/19. That feels like a long time away. I am hoping that Evans will at least do some short films explaining the origins of certain characters from 2 (Hammer Girl, Baseball Bat Man and the Assassin). Oh well, at least he is working with Uwais in between that time. Hopefully he tones down the drama in Raid 2 and focus more on what people want to see. Also maybe work on pacing? I know I am really curious to see what the Yakuza are about in more detail. So to fill that gap, short films should be done to keep folks interested and learn more about the characters.

So apparently Darren had a toxic reaction to some prescription pain meds he wasn’t used to. He had been dealing with an old hip injury that never healed properly.

So I finally sat down and watched John Wick. I think it was pretty good. It was perfect for Keanu’s stiffness and I actually enjoyed his more combat based self defense. If Keanu continues to work on not being stiff, then he will be able to redeem himself with maybe another martial arts movie?

It looks like they are making a Hit Girl spin off film and want Gareth Evans (The Raid series) to direct it. My thing is I highly doubt they will be able to make the girl that played hit girl look believable in a fight scene. But who knows.
