Im stoked, been waiting forever for Once upon time in shanghai…This was suppose to be release last year in August. If you guys have the download for this yall know what to do. Oh for the fools who haven’t seen the original go see The Boxer from Shantung…OG swagger!
Unless they changed it recently this should be the remake of The Boxer from Shantung. One of my favorite kung fu film of all time. The fighting isn’t that great but the swagger & the bloody end scene just too fucking good.
I thought about it…no, I’m just not that brave. Still saving my cash for the day when I find all the Redwall audiobooks on cd in an auction for one lump sum. And also saving for the day ps4 gets games (I want).
Anyways, anyone seen Warrior Baek Dong Soo? I’m reading the manwha it was adapted from(Honorable Baek Dong Soo) and it seems to be a decent series but also seems to have veered from the manwha quite a bit.
Wrath of Vajra - I watch the first fight with the Giant & i was so hype. Shit was hard hitting & brutal. Sadly the fight scenes afterwards just never got to that level. The fight with the Mad Monkey was good but was hoping for some crazy kicks instead of just running away the whole match. The end fight was boring & im not sure if its all the roid muscles or the slow mo cinematography but felt it was a bit stiff & never flowed…Almost 300 like.
Good - Hard hitting & lead actor has promise
Bad - Too much slow mo, Gwai-lo are ridiculous
Ugly - Shoji Kurata was like in only 2or3 scenes & does not fight & the fucking crying kid was so annoying
Im probably going to give this another viewing on my projection screen once a better quality comes out. I was never engage with the story, seem quite choppy. To be fair, i only watch in three parts but the story was lacking, no character development, so you really dont feel for any characters. It was nice to look at though reminded me a lot of the film Running on Karma. The fights though their are quite a handful so should quench most MA enthusiast. If it wasn’t for the slow mo could have gotten a higher score.
Yeah Raid 2 is going to be too hype! Also, Once Upon a Time in Shanghai…I gotta feeling this movie is going to be the best MA film in a very long time…Ready to buy the Bluray already! Would love to watch this in the big screen.
I’m trying to get a local going where I rent out one of the indie theaters and have something like “kung Fu Fridays” or something like that. I’d love to host a screening of The Raid 2, but who knows. Would it be wrong if I tried to get the Sundance screening of The Raid 2? Either way i will see it in theaters.
Speaking of which, I think I may have found a TYG2 copy. I will test it and let everyone know how it is…
I am thinking of uploading all my martial arts movies to my dropbox to share with my bruvs on SRK. Once I get everything done I will have a list of what is on there.
