Not bad, but Iâm really not a fan of that shaky camera and random close shots. Itâs kind of disorienting and I canât see whatâs happening half the time. Plus I think thatâs just an old trick to make up for whatever they are lacking to make the fight exciting, isnât it?
I hate shaky cam with a passion because the story they piece together doesnât convey the conscious activity within the kinaesthetics.
Surprisingly we saw The Hunger the other day and the shakey cam was actually good, it consistently conveyed the moment correctly. I boycotted the film for ages but fuck they actually know what theyâre doing :wtf:
Yeah i like it when panned out moreâŚWhere you can see all the action. The only time this has worked for me was Legend of the Wolf. The short was still pretty decent.
I am really big on the panned fight scenes as well. I actually found a few Kung Fu dvds in my storage, so I will probably watch those for inspiration. Also this indie music store in my neighborhood has a free box and one of the guys who works there has been giving away his martial arts movies, so I got a dvd of Guy With the Secret Kung Fu recently. So I have a huge backlog of movies that I need to watch.
not saying it wasnt a good fightâŚpeople are commentating they were rough on eachother. i was watching he fight just last weekend and noticed how far away they punched from eachother. thats all im commenting onâŚthat they werent rough.
Maxx, what parts specifically looked bad because my memory is hazy but I do recall that being on hell of fight, especially for itâs time. Comparing it to pro wrestling is pretty bad.
Break it down for us since you are in the industry.
i didnt say it was bad. just not rough as people implyâŚespecially in the first part of the fight. i cant really explain it but its clear how much they pulled back to me.
Im curious on what fights dont hold back to you Maxx, Meals on Wheels look really brutal. If i remember awhile back i think they interview them saying they actually did light contact & used padding to make it as realistic as possible.
