Nah, I agree with you. I used to play Tennis when I was younger, but before that I had anger issues. Aside from that, because of my built stature and height, everyone tried to get to play basketball and football, especially football in order to get rid of my anger. Here’s the thing, of course the gist of it is to get mad and used that aggression to tackle the person who knocked you down. Now, if I’m getting pissed off enough to physically harm someone in a way, I’m gonna start swinging, hands and feet. I don’t want to limit myself to tackling. That’s just me, though.
Plus, people believed that me doing martial arts wouldn’t get me anywhere and that I would be successful as a basketball player. They were the same people who tried to plant the idea of me being some star players into my brain for years because they felt my goals would never get me anywhere. If anything, I’d rather fight than run up and down a court and shoot a ball into a hoop.
I’m also looking forward to seeing The Grandmaster next week.
So Berendal (The Raid 2) is almost complete. The guy whole played Mad Dog in the first Raid will be back for a different role in the second one. It should be good. Anyway the full story is over atCity on Fire
donnie yen is great btw. he’s much better at fight choreography than acting, his contribution and dedication to weight in fight scenes have put a constructive leash on “wire-fu” giving the term “Wuxia” a stronger understanding
So I have been away on a mini vacation with Mrs. Hyper Kid, so I haven’t been able to post any martial art movie news. But I have a couple of things that I think you all would like to hear.
First off I am pretty sure you all know that Tony Jaa is supposed to be in the next Fast and Furious. Also there were talks of Scott Adkins being in the film as well. If that were true then Scott and Jaa would most definitely take out all of Vin Diesels’ crew. I am hoping to see a fight scene between Jaa and Statham, since Statham is the only one in the new cast that has any semblance of martial arts chops. But the full story is an interesting one. I will be keeping a close eye on what is going on with this and keep you all updated as well.
The second bit of news has to do with Phillip Rhee (Best of the Best) and his new film entitled The Underdogs. You all know Phillip Rhee from the Best of the best series (thought the first one with James Earl Jones’ epic “NO” is easily the best in the series). Rhee is actually back in training as well for the new film The Underdogs which he is also directing. The film is supposed to be a mixture of Best of the Best meets The Bad News Bears meets The Karate Kid, so basically it is a comedy with martial arts as the backdrop. Check out the full storyfor all the details.
And the final bit of news is that Special ID is supposed to be released on HK BR/DVD on October 18th. I will probably order my copy from DDDhouse.com, if anyone has other sources for ordering HK DVD/BR’s then please let me know.
the weird thing about the ff series…was the ending of that last movie. The third act turned into tekken tag 2 out of nowhere. I was fucking mad when i found out the badguy was a kickboxer…this nigga coulda been decaptitating people left and right. Back kick letty into not talking back.
fucking king and iron king vs marduck and hworang went down at the end of the movie…clearly it was a setup to the possibility of experimenting with a martial arts taste.
Also went to look to see if i have Snake Eagle Shadow on dvd, its been almost 2 decades since i’ve seen it…Doesn’t look like i have it so i place an order at amazon…I did find 4 different dvd version of Fearless Hyena though haha…
no, you think i care bout shit like that? i watch the movies for the movies and the action, not for the actors or the people they are based on (in general). especially with the old flicks from i saw back in the early to mid/late 80’s, who gives a fuck about who that unkown asian is playing the role of some fighter in a movie? to me it was always just some chink, unless it was jacky or bruce. jet joined that list in the early 90´s and tony jaa later on from on bak on. i know donny yen, but like all other bs fighter chinks i couldnt give a fuck about him or the rest. none of them motherfuckers proven themselves in a way where i would want to remember them. shit, i wish i didnt know who donny yen was now.
most martial artists from china bitches, same for ip man. they wouldnt last a minute with a real fighter from now. the only 1 i would give some props is li shu wen, mostly because my friends from guangzhou say he was the real deal, since these friends the real deal i believe them motherfuckers. you dont really impress me with that random asian name, i dont have yellow fever, sorry. if he was worth knowing, i might have known him, who knows.
just googled the fuck, hes the guy thats jets&bruce´s master and gets poisened. guess you enjoy the hype made up of bs. i know real fighters that i have actually seen fuck multiple fuckers up. some scrub like this doesnt impress me. i know people in real life that ko 7 foot+ bouncers with a single punch and ko some more before they leave the door of said club. chinks aint got shit on that. the kinda people that get into a fight and ko 5-6 niggas (they really were niggas during this fight), everybody ko´d in a single punch. a kung fu asian is not in the least bit impressive to me, in movies, sure, in real life, gtfo here. keep riding that hype dick youre on. maybe 1 day youll become a martial master not worth shit yourself.
Okay, so I have no idea how to feel about this. But I saw Bolo Yeung is in it so I have to post it. It’s call The Whole World at Our Feet and the movie looks pretty bad (well cgi wise anyway), but a film where Bolo and Debo (Friday) are in the same movie is intriguing to say the least. Check out the trailer below
