The Low Level Tennessee Thread Full of Casuals :)

@ Jason: Yea I understood perfectly what you meant. That’s very true. People forget when they get past a certain point and a taste of consistent upper level play. Then they run across those types of characters and a player with “no fucks given” playstyles and it ruins them still.

To squash it, basically all the “easier to learn” stuff is subjective for the most part. You can learn and become good with anyone you choose. Some people or scenes rate ease of play based on their own experiences when playing the game. Even some scrub community recommend Mishimas simply because they themselves don’t use proper movement or maximize stuff, so to them why not? It is largely dependant on your level or how serious you choose to take game or whether you play it competitively. I rate it on utilizing the character to a decent extent to be effective, what that entails without going overboard, and I take into account the player who’s inquiring (either how long they’ve been playing or their individual playstyle or mentality).

If you’re playing TTT2 in MidTN right now, I’d say you can stand to explore a bit or be adventurous. In Memphis too, except that if you bring certain characters, some WILL be punished to the fullest extent for certain shit and others will at least be generally-moderately punished with adequate knowledge of stuff. This is what I mean when I admit that Bryan is actually “friendlier to play” in TTT2, but like, very little of the “Hulk smash” style will fly here. Or even at King of Bling against certain people. That sweep will probably only hit players here in playful casuals. When you play the game, you learn to look out for specific things from certain characters. Especially something as slow, yet damaging, as that. So it’s autopilot block/low parry, because guys don’t wanna have to worry about that shit. So by taking that away, it’s just one more thing to cross off the mental list in match.

@ Sev: Oh shit. We don’t need you using that Leo bitch. God…gonna be so aggravatingly effective if you keep using her.

Back from AWA. Fiance made bank!

Anyways, yeah Graham i play it on ps3. As far as Lei goes, to play him effectively you need to know every option he has from every stance, even his lying down stances… all 4 of them. You have to play him in the most unpredictable way possible. Honestly, and this was the same way for me, playing Lei when you don’t have a real solid grasp of the game, only made Tekken 100 times harder. You are going to be worrying about your stances, which stances transition into other stances, which normals transition into stances, and all your mix ups, while not even moving right.

I’m not saying don’t play Lei, he’s freaking awesome and tons of fun, but he does take a TON of work/practice and research. Im not 100% sure in TTT2, but I know in T6 his command list did not show which normals transitioned into stances. For instance db4, f transitions into drunken stance which leads to a combo. So practice mode will be your home for a long time to figure all those out.

I will say this to everyone though still trying to find teams with good “synergy”. Screw that and a bag of chips man, seriously. In the end you are not going to beat someone just because your team has good synergy. Play who you like, figure out their moves, and figure out how to use those moves effectively in TA’s,etc.

And everyone who hasn’t added me on PSN: Oldschooldimo.

Yeah she is bawse as fuck IMO. Everything looks like it huts. Bishop was using her some the other day so it was cool to see another person using her.

Bishop always used her. She was his true secondary and even played her in a tourney or two. She got an ok amount of burn from US players in BR, primarily Bloodhawk. But not as much as she deserved for being that damn good. Now in TTT2, many people are using her even though she’s technically nerfed in some ways. But because she has good filler, shop is open. Also the infamous Lars/Leo squad that people are “omfg MAGNETO/STORM/SENTINUHHHHL” about.

Mike is 56-20 on PSN Tekken

I am 95-105 on XBOX 360 Tekken

LOL

ggs to G-Ram

I think you should roll Drag/Feng.

Man doing EWGF online in 4 bars feels bawse as fuck

EWGF check
DEWGF check
PEWGF nope lol

I dont really know if this is a good mixup but anyways I’m getting some juice out of doing hell sweep or EWGF

I will play on Live tonight when I get home from work around 7pmish, hit me up with some friend requests so you can beat my ass in Tekken.

SlowJamzMixtape

Richard go to tekken.com I already sent you an invite for our TN Online Tekken Team

but i dont wanna be a cowboy

ok I joined, yay 3 members

Yeah I saw that guys shit. I will admit the dmg she gets is pretty silly with Lars. But I have a few high dmg things myself. I dont care if she was nerfed or not. She feels fine to me. The only issue I have is I just need to get better anyway. Her dmg, wall carry, punishment, wall shit, TA all feel really good. Only thing I see so far she is meh at is tag combos that take red life. DF+2 cannot be tag canceled, only WS+2, DB+3, Bok 2 etc. Also with her TA she is very flexible.

@ Jason: In ranked? Wow, feels like I had way more L’s than that. From running into a few OGs, the hail mary launcher guys who lagspike matches, and some annoying solo characters. Can’t say I like to dabble in much ranked. Already been penalized for 2 disconnects that weren’t me by some notorious online sensations who know how to do that safe DC glitch thing where they DC after losses and the game gets the other person for it. If I would’ve looked at the blacklist of to be avoided players beforehand, I would’ve known. But I don’t even think ranked allows you to see who you are playing until you’re actually in the match. Fuck ranked.

I mostly stay in player match, and my record in that is far, far worse thanks to a few guys lol. The tawp player sessions and getting my ass beat more times than I win in most cases. Also, the Lil Majin rooms where the only people who stay after losses is me and Marcus lol.

I really wanna see Mike comment on the article on the front page basically saying Tekken needs to be SF4 easy

Sorry I didn’t make it out to any Tek sessions this weekend. I’ve been hella busy with school and work. I don’t have internet at home right now so I can’t play online either. My sambo wrestling is getting strong tho =]

FlyMike, that is what it says in my PSN thing…but yeah, I need to go to one of those LiL Majin rape rooms because I am using King a bit now these days…

Ian is coming to school me tomorrow at 2pm so I can see if I have improved from my beating he gave me in Tekken 6 three years ago…

got your friend request jason. We will play soon!

Edit: Also, Charlie is hosting a TTT2 gathering this friday. He lives in Smyrna. Its open to anyone who is down to play, so let me know if you are interested.

@ Sev: Nah, the Leo nerf isn’t really a “nerf”. Toning down one thing and beefing others means it’s still fuck-time. She should be a nice fit for you.

@ Josh: Oh lord what now? Haven’t seen it. Will check it out when I get off.

@ Jason: Yea you should try to hit The Expendables OG gatherings in Smyrna whenever you can. As for the rooms, I’m usually online very late after most are sleep and Rell is at work though.
