Impa looks absolutely sick, Link is awesome and dash canceling that Shield Surf gives him crazy mobility, the bigger enemies are actually more aggressive than the mooks, which didn’t really happen in HW1 for the earlier maps.
This definitely looks like the first stage. Also, trailers confirm Champions get Sheikah Slates too, so it’s not something exclusive to Zelda, she’s just more proficient with hers.
Makes perfect sense tbh.

Speaking of a bunch of waifus… Impa can clone herself. Think about it, best mileage per waifu ever.
It looks like there are breakable items in this game but its only relegated to the items you pick up from off the field.
Modern Nintendo games run on waifus. Outside of Yoshi games literally every major Nintendo game has waifu potential.
Although to be honest Kirby only just gets by in this category due to a robot.
There’s a lot of new info on these vids.
Link also gets a Spear moveset, all characters use their Sheikah Runes differently (except for Stasis) and they share a cooldown.
Daruk is a really interesting character. Besides Daruk’s Protection, which doesn’t seem to trigger an auto parry like in BotW but it’s much more durable, he gets to set traps he can detonate at will. He’s definitely looking like a very solid pick for crowd control and the traps might be useful for pining down officers, although they all seem resistant to knockback anyway.
The more Impa footage I see, the more I think she’s busted.
I’m really happy to see that Link got a Spear moveset since that’s what I use the most in BotW.
Breakable weapons are interesting, but I fear they might be a tad too strong and common for my tastes. Let’s see how it looks like in the final version.
And I suppose that you get the standard tiered weapon system of warriors games with Link starting off with Knight-tier equipment and Daruk starting with the basic Goron weapon (Cobble Crusher or something like that.)

I hope that is the first level, or there’s a way to increase he difficulty, because Link looked unstoppable.
Yeah, that’s why Warriors games are divisive. The idea is that it’s just a huge power trip. You’re a soldier that can literally kill mooks by the thousands, a force of nature through and through.
Don’t expect the small Boko mooks to do much except the occasional stray hit.
When looking at difficulty in a Warriors game outside of the higher difficulties (which just ain’t happening on this kind of exhibition), you gotta look at the higher ranked enemies.
They’re the enemies that will actually try to hit you. Fortunately, it seems they got super armor or at least some knockback resistance, so you can’t just run up to them and start hacking and slashing expecting things will run well. You’re gonna have to exploit those weaknesses.
The main difficulty will come from map management. Units in trouble, multiple objectives that you’ll be scrambling to do while protecting important bases and NPCs…
And that’s considering Normal difficulty and assuming this is also an early map.
To give you an idea, I was playing HW1 on the other day.
Picked Midna because Lana is annoying. Story Mode, Palace of Twilight mission. Like, roughly halfway through the game.
Didn’t have elemental advantage but I thought it’d be all good…
I got my Main Base swarmed by a whole ass squad of Aeralfos, Mooks as far as the Switch can show them, Zant spawned right next to it to pile on the pressure and motherfucking Argorok pulled up too.
That shit was on Normal!!!
And I wasn’t even playing bad either, everything was fine until I started taking a bit too long to deal with those damn Aeralfos because they were blocking too much.
Then I suddenly had too many of them to deal with because they were all over the place and shit just went south when Argorok showed up again.
Okay cool. I didn’t play the older games so I didn’t realize there was stuff like that. These clips just looked like a hack and slash except for the area bosses.
I also didn’t like seeing crowds of 30 bokos being swept away 100ft by one swing of Link’s sword. It was like Link was a leaf blower and they were a bunch of leaves lol. I get the power trip aspect of it, but I find it works better when you have to fight a bunch of badass enemies to make you feel like you earned it, otherwise it can get old fast…
But, knowing there’s more things like protecting teams, areas, and missions sounds cool. And fighting those area bosses looked fun as well. I really loved the combat in BOTW, so I’ll love this. I am happy there are harder difficulties (or at least there were in other games).
It’s also hard because the people playing are really experienced with the game and doing cool looking OP shit right off the bat lol
It’s likely a demo specifically made for TGS. You’re rarely that powerful right out of the gate unless it’s story line based and its immediately taken away
But yeah, like volt said. The challenge in Musou’s are usually at upper levels and/or as you advance through the game. Unit management, objective prioritizing, meter management, etc are detrimental and will either make or break a run.
You’ll be distract by one thing then one commander or general will fuck up your whole day. Lol
Yeah in the first HW you started out with basic shit and unlocked combos and abilities as you leveled up your character. Link probably won’t even have shield surf until around halfway through the game or later.
Don’t expect anything similar. You can do some interesting stuff like juggles and dash cancels, but while I expect a lot of BotW elements to be added, the more they do, the stronger your options will get and the enemies will probably not be able to keep up.
I’m concerned with how effective the breakable weapons are already.
Real talk, you really should try out a Warriors game just to make sure you don’t get surprised by the gameplay.
Later combo strings are one thing, but it’s not far-fetched to assume Link will be able to Shield Surf from the jump. Looks like a really early move on his string. And that Hyrule Field stage was very likely the first map in the game.
Why wouldn’t it be farfetched? It looks like this games version of his shield tackle from the previous game.
