DS, the most sincere suggestion is running 2 tournies. 1 with characters avaible intially and the other with unlockable characters…its the only way to be sure.
Edit: Oh seems like won’t be possible, so look we got a chance here to mold the game’s competitive atmosphere. I strongly suggest just allowing the intial characters only, I know some of the boss dudes don’t seem to Godly but its always better to be safe then sorry…in the long run when the game is enjoying a frantic competitive scene you will thank me.
How do you get the lovable igniz besides survival? I accidentally got lackadaisical when i was fighting him and… Got superd… And died. Yawn… I dont feel like replaying survival either. So has anyone figured out HOW you fight him regularly in arcade?
Also not that ive played the game much. But for krizilad I dunno about him being bannable. Ummm… as it stands only thing dum about him is that he builds ridiculous meter. Compared to him from 99… Ah hes quite a bit worse just from playing as him for 5 mins. Shoryuken still seems invincible, but hit box is diff. Characters can jump through it now. Theres something wacky with it. Obviously his grab is no longer a infinite. Though interestingly now depending on when you time the punch after it you can control which way the guy falls down. So immediately hit the punch and guy spins foward and gets up normaly. Time it a bit later and they will still go foward but fall the wrong way so you get that KOF type cross up stuff then. And of course later and then they go the wrong way. Supers dont appear to be invincable anymore etheir. You can actually jab krizilad from his supers or even throw him. Bizare. I dunno if its hard to time, as again I havnt played the game much. But definitively at least plausible. Of course its nice that his flame super hits period now all the hits but again they dont appear to be totally invincible anymore.Though I guess if its hits off the ground now, does that mean you can do any ol sweep or knock down to it? Thats kinda cool I guess… And of course yea he does less damage then he use to.
Also has anyone tried those krizilad specific combos from 99? He use to fall weird and you could stick him to the ground pretty easily, say with kyos hcb+hk “slowest move ever in history of fighting game flaming uppercut auto guard move” etc. Maybe in this game his hit box is still screwy so a lot of random combos might work on him that wont work on others that might hurt him as well.
Oh and maybe I missed it or its old, but one of the zeros… or maybe its both black whole super hits OTG as well. Move doesnt do damage anyway. But as many supers as you have, you can just continue to do it over and over again. Shrug
Hmm, yeah actually that does sound like a good one…to seperate the dicussion so it doesn’t get clustered. Post the vids and be ready with some primers incase anyone wants to know specifics, that way u can get a direct response from the community.
3 months doesn’t seem like a very long time, especially with a game like this that probably isn’t going to be getting the type of heavy play you would need in that time period to really understand how those new characters stack up against the rest of the cast.
Holding two tournaments isn’t always an option either, as time and space are at a premium at major tournaments.
Ok other fun krizilad stuff. Because his shoryukens hit box is so screwy. As long as you miss one hit of the shoryuken, you can combo after it. So obviously, as long as you time it so you miss say one hit, the last hit whatever. You can do dpXn with him.
Also same thing for his flame super to. As long as you dont hit 2 hits of the cross, you can juggle after it infinitely.
Dunno about Mary, but Kasumi feels like she has good stuff from both 99 and 2k with the addition of an actually usable jump-in[crossup jump D is fun]. That and her MAX2 is really good, great whiff punisher and it can comboed without much fuss for big damage. She’s my best character right now. She’s not very good at building meter though.
Also, anyone got the unlock reqs for people down now? I have Krizalid and 2k Robert, but that’s it.
Kyo is a lot better, he can combo DM from low b low a, qcf+A has 98 recovery speed (dunno about auto guard). Close C activates from about as far as Kyo’s in 2000 (or Kyo in 98um).
Beni has his dp+K back, both versions knockown but I’m not sure about invincibility. raijinken is like it is in 98, more blockstun/hitstun. The spinny qcb+P move is same as 2k2. His f+B (or some move that looks exactly like f+B) can OTG.
