The King of Fighters 2002: Unlimited Match Thread

5 meter 90% combos that need dead chars to even do is nothing to be scared about lo.

Oh trust me I am gonna be testing A LOT tonite against Gualberto with the boss characters to further get an idea who is the top and who is not.

Also got confirmation that Nightmare Geese is a palette swap of regular Geese so no Double Geese team.

Trust me I am getting some real life footage tonite…

The 90% with Geese is like 4-5 meters though…thats the thing…but yes it is possible.

I’ll take the 50% with Reg Geese most of the time…more practical by far… Also Geese’s MAX2 has to be one of the best in the game…

In wake of Ingiz id have to play him some more but yea he is definetly weaker compared to 01 ver.

If he wasn’t weaker then the 01 version giving him the banhammer would be mandatory.

It would be sad though, they should just akuma him out - up the damage he takes and screw with some of his breakable stuff untill he’s just good but not amazing.

Sorry to burst your bubble…wish you guys were subscribed to my channel…you would know the latest news…but unless you all can give me a suitable reason why:

IGNIZ IS BANNED.

Igniz is God Tier. He still has his 2001 infinite and it builds mad meter…

So that brings 2002 UM God Tier to:

Nightmare Geese, Krizalid, Igniz.

So stuff like this is still possible:

I pose a solution: If you still think he’s playable we can just ban the infinite…but I want feedback on this…

Gualberto is in for some pain tonight…:badboy:

Guess builds meter fast though, and he has a ton of other ubber options to him. Im not saying he is extremly Godlike in the same respect as Igniz…but I do think he warrents a ban. I mean lets just take a example, I main Kyo,Ryo and Ben…is there anything I can really do agaisnt Guess using those 3.

Geese, Goenitz and Clone Zero are the most playable out of the bosses.

It would also all depend on where Geese is in your team etc. Me Geese would always be first…so it’d be hard to hit you with all those heavy comboes…Geese would hurt you because he hits hard…

but if I do get low on health and have meter WATCH OUT!!!

Hmmm, I think to resolve any potential drama it would be best just to exclude any of the boss characters from the roster. The game seems fairly competent with the ordinary cast, and I would hate to see any more drama developing due to only a small handful of characters. Imaging this game losing steam for this reason only seems quite upsetting, its a good game so let’s not ruin it.

But I wanna get feedback on which ones people think when they say “Bosses”

NESTS only?

I need a lot of feedback on this…

QFT

Why even consider playing as a boss in the first place?

Can somebody please tell me how to get KOF 2002 for XBL? I’ve asked like 3 other threads and everybody has been complete dicks to me. Please somebody just answer me so i can stop bothering everybody

Seriously if you allow the nest bosses and rugal you’re either mad or stupid.

Clone zero is the worst of of them but he’s still to good, cape beats everything, qcf beats EVERYTHING, so what if it dont do massive damage, it still does respectable damage.
He still has retarded boss priority on all his moves as do all the nest bosses, yes they have poor stamina but not that poor not like cvsnk2.

Igniz is beyond broken, qcf hp repeat over and over till dead, which you could do in 2k1

this aint like neowave where they put rugal in and raped him changed the start up of his moves, all they’ve done is give them crap stamina and they deal slightly less damage than normal cast members, all there normals and special all have god like priority

Ps i didn’t know you can hold geeses raging storm, and i didn’t know you can juggle off of it when heald, and i also didn’t know you can juggle off of his hsdm.
Geese looks good not stupidly good like the bosses though

Dark geese seeing as you have people to play check something for me, do clone zeros qcf x2 k super the black hole one. repeat it again and again and see if they can tech roll out of it, i so if i am right you can doo this until you run out of meter. was testing it with my brother but he’s 12 he dont really have the know how or skills to techroll, i was getting mixed results sometimes he would be able to other times he cant

Go to training mode and set the dummy to guard “down”.

I’d say ban everybody in that bottom row, just for sake of consistency, but that’s just me.

I know this will sound like a crazy idea, but for the first 2002UM tournament (FRXII I assume) how about having 2 tournaments? One w/ only characters that are available from the start and another w/ every character including all the bosses. Make both tournaments single game, double elimination so it doesn’t take forever to run it. In that way players could have a better idea how the game plays like at competitive level w/ & w/o bosses and then players would have solid arguments to decide whether or not certain characters should be banned for the next tournament.

Dark Geese, if you’re running a tournament in the near future then run it without any of the bosses. After that, have some casuals or something where bosses are allowed / encouraged. I think it makes more sense to heavily play the bosses before decided who to ban, and who not to, especially if some of them aren’t overpowered.

EDIT: Dammit, I was too slow, FSGamer said it already.

its not like there is some arcade standard we need to adhere to. even sf4 tourneys are allowing secret console-only chars, despite there already being an arcade version. i don’t necessarily agree with that decision, but i respect it.

Well either way theres gonna be drama the way I look at it…those that say “Why are you banning such and such” and those that say “You shouldnt ban such and such.”

Just look at the SF4 stuff…clear example. Its almost a lose lose situation…So I wanna thoroughly do research before deciding to ban anyone.

I’ll see if I can do some research.

I’ll check that out in the menu…

This is how you do it… This is how I know you can’t tech Nameless Raging Storm Super so if you can get the right height like the Combo DVD you can otg with the drill super.

Dark Geese, Thanks for the great information about the game my friend…
Could you put a video and information about EX Takuma please? Thanks for your help and bye!!!

This is an easy decision, ban any characters that aren’t immediately available when you put the game in the PS2. The decision as to who is fair and who is not fair can be discussed later, but for tournament play, the game should just be played as-is from the start.

Thing is I probably won’t be at Final Round…I get the check I am using to pay for my trip the week of Final Round…so if I get it just in time I’ll buy the ticket…but I’m not thinking that’s gonna happen. I’m up for that…if not the first tournament I will be holding is at MWC then the week after at DEVASTATION for the Raging Storm Major.

Now I will employ this idea for MWC…and do two tournaments at MWC…the first all characters will be on Friday at MWC everyone…Free entry…

Yeah thats why I’m playing Gualberto tonight and gonna continue to give you all the scope of my findings… Also when you say Bosses is that everyone on the bottom row or just the Bosses?

True this is the problem in itself…there is no Arcade standard…and I realize the power I have in all this so I have to be extra careful before deciding who to ban etc…

To the guy that asked about Clone Zero and teching- You can tech his Black Hole.
