Yeah if the bosses prove out to be okay then they need to be legal…but thing is do we have enough time to determine that 2 weeks after the game is released see thats the thing!!!
I play whoever I like in KOF/SNK games…so that means if I like Kula (and been since KOF 2000) and I like her style in that game…I’ll play her.
If I like Isolde…I’ll play her…if I like Mai with the RBS Multifan…I’ll play her!
**If Young Geese and SVC Geese are in the game…they are on my team make no mistake about it!
It’s really easy to tell if the bosses are overpowered though. There are obvious things they can do that their normal counterparts cannot. Like Kriz vs Boss Kriz. Damage, combos, normals, specials etc.
You’re right…the boss thing can be determined pretty quickly…everyone else is what will take a while to figure out…
So I guess the way it stands as of now…
If the bosses aren’t “BOSS like” meaning they don’t do the same damage as their boss versions…
They’ll be legal.
Every other secret character will be legal until proven they need to be banned as well…
And about people talking shit about me- (I get a kick out of this!!)
People are gonna bitch about anything in regards to me…
They’ll talk shit if I win…talk shit if I lose…they’ll talk shit if I beat their ass with low tier or top tier it doesnt matter…and I take pleasure in doing both…
I’ll whoop people in 98UM with Roulette and they’ll still talk shit…
That’s kind of what I was going off of, I mean like Zero, Kriz, Ingiz, i think they will be over powered and should be illegal but however as H_E said it’s pretty much whatever.
Y.Geese, SVC Geese pretty much I’m of the same opinion as Hatred_Edge
Would it be fair for me to assume with regards to the character list on the UM2002 website that the four boxes around J Dash are Igniz, Original Zero, Clone Zero, and Krizalid and the seven boxes at the bottom are Eiji, Geese, Krauser, Mr. Big, Rugal, Goenitz, and Orochi? That would mean every character prior to to XI would be in the game, methinks.
Also, I hope that since SNK’s revamped '98 and now '02 that maybe they’ll revamp XI as well, throwing in every character in a non-MI or XII KoF game ever. That would be my dream SNK game.
I would totally go for this KOF XI idea, as long as it’s balanced and fun it could potentially be the ‘Marvel’ of the SNK community. I use that term loosely in the sense that it could be THE game for a decade for SNK players.
Even if that doesn’t happen, though, I’m just glad I’ll be getting May Lee back to use in my team of Yamazaki, May Lee, and Yashiro. Is the American Sports team in this one? I need Heavy D, Lucky, and Mr Big for my second team, and I don’t recall seeing either of them on the character select screen…
Yea, I suppose that’s true…and yea, I know I’m thinking 98 in terms of the Sports Team, I just didn’t remember if they were in the NESTs saga or not because I haven’t played the arcade versions of 98 or 2002 in ages…and when I did I had no interest in them, so I didn’t pay much attention ^^;
Still, though, 2002 was my second favorite KOF game after 98, so I’ll definitely be picking this up. My only regret is that it comes out in Japan like right after SFIV, so I won’t be playing it too much, especially since I have so little competition here to begin with in any non-online fighter
I think you’re overestimating the difficulty of these combos. The general B&B max combos in kof2k2 that do the most damage, are actually not difficult to pull off at all. Yamazaki’s “snake cancel” combo is moderate in terms of difficulty. Most characters have it pretty easy with the max combos, like Kim, Vanessa, Iori, Kyo, Kusanagi, etc.
also I don’t know what digimonemperor means by saying kof2k2 has universal CCs. While many characters can use maxmode for some useful combos (like overhead, max, run up strong normal, super), I wouldn’t really call such combos to be CCs. Many characters don’t have useful CCs such as Kim’s, Vanessa’s, Iori’s, etc.
All I’m saying is that people judge off 2k2’s BC system based off the “most broken comboes”…
Yama’s snake cancel 100% isn’t hard per se…but its not something Johnny Doughnuts that plays Street Fighter can do in a match consistently. So we are at an agreement…
I just dont want people thinking 2002 BC comboes are all broken and don’t require ANY skill whatsoever.
Also Devildig meant to say its the only KOF where everyone can do a BC combo…
Instead of KOFXI where Duo Lon, Ash, Shen, and some others can…and a few in others…everyone has access to them…
